Viability Rankings
#1
I cannot find mini sprites for Urayne-α or for any of the Uranium original megas.  If you happen to have them or know where I can find them, please let me know.

Introduction: Viability rankings are a staple among official Smogon formats.  They are valuable resources, allowing players who are unfamiliar with the meta within a format to receive a general idea of what the best mons are.  This knowledge is quite useful for teambuilding, as it points newer players in the right direction as to what mons are the best options for their team as well as giving said players an idea of what mons they need to be prepared to deal with.  Viability rankings are some of the most trusted resources in the Smogon community because they are based off of months of years of experience and dedication to the game, and are put together by some of the best of the best.

Unfortunately, this ranking lacks any of the aforementioned qualities.  The viability rankings you see before you are are constructed not by a group of elites, but by a single person: me.  And let me tell you right now: when it comes to competitive Pokemon, I am anything but "the best of the best."  Because of this, take these rankings with a grain of salt.  If you see any placements that you are confused by, or any placements that you disagree with, I implore you to mention these qualms in the replies.  Facilitating discussion is not only one of the best ways to help this community grow, it will also improve these rankings.  My ultimate goal for these rankings is that one day, if this game ever does grow competitively, we will have a team of competent, experienced, and dedicated players working their hardest to make these rankings as useful and accurate as possible.  Until then, here are my opinions and theories on the viability of every fully evolved mon in Uranium.

Rules of the game: As this game has yet to be divided into individual tiers (and likely never will be), these rankings include every form of every fully evolved mon in Uranium, with the exception of Actan-N and Urayne-γ.  However, as a large portion of Uranium mons are simply unviable in an environment where every mon is readily available, a good chunk of the mons in these rankings will be migrated to an oversized C-rank.  Mons will be ranked based off of two criteria:

Usefulness - what does this mon bring to your team?  What roles does it fill and how effectively does it perform those roles?  How well does it fare against the top threats of the meta?  How much must be sacrificed to effectively incorporate it into a team?

Opportunity Cost - does this mon have a unique niche?  Is there a reason to use this mon when you could potentially be using a better one?  Is this mon outclassed by other more versatile and powerful threats?

Mons will be placed into one of the following rankings:

Urayne Rank - Urayne-α is strong enough to warrant giving it it's own rank.  Urayne-α has over 100 base speed, an immensely high special attack of 134, and Radioacid, which is 370 BP against every fully evolved mon in the game except Steels, Nuclears, Laissure, and a handful of less viable monotypes.  For Steels and Nuclears, Urayne-α has access to Fire Blast, which is enough to eviscerate most of them.  The long and short of it is that Urayne is the most potent offensive threat in the game, and it has virtually no safe switch-ins, giving it the dubious honor of having it's own rank.  Anything that is said about Urayne-α also applies to Urayne-β, since Urayne-β is literally Urayne-α with better stats.

Other Nuclears - The Nuclear typing is... special, to say the very least.  Of the 138 mons in this list, Nuclear moves deal 4x damage to 83 of them, or roughly 60% of fully evolved mons in the game.  of the 40% exempt from this weakness, 23 mons take 2x damage from Nuclear moves, meaning that roughly 77% of fully evolved mons take super effective damage from Nuclear.  However, access to Nuclear moves comes with the drawback of being a Nuclear type (except for Raffiti), which gives weaknesses to every type in the game other than Poison and Nuclear.  Because of this, getting outsped is not an option for Nuclear types - they must move first and kill with their 4x supereffective STAB, or risk utter annihilation.  As such, Speed is an absolutely essential stat for Nuclear types to be viable, and there is only one other nuclear with enough speed to avoid relegation to obscurity: Jerbolta-N.  Not only does Jerbolta sport an impressive base 110 speed, but it's Quick Charge ability gives it access to something truly terrifying: Nuclear-type priority.  Nucleon and Raffiti are members of this category despite their lackluster speed.  Raffiti makes up for it's poor speed with access to Shell Smash, and Nucleon makes up for it's poor speed by having access to Atomizate boosted Hyper Voice, which is almost twice as powerful as the 60BP Radioacid most Nuclear types are stuck with.

S RankTitans of the game.  All of mons in this rank are extremely over-centralizing, have little-to-no opportunity cost, and will win the game if they are not prepared for.

A Rank - Solid mons with a sizable effect on the meta, which they either carve through brute force (Cocancer, Fafninter, etc.) or by filling an essential niche that is not efficiently replicated by any other mon (Chainite, Terlard, etc.).

B RankMons in this rank are decent, but they have flaws that prevent them from reaching A rank.  They can still be quite effective, however, they generally require paying a higher opportunity cost and are not quite as splashable as mons in higher ranks.

C Rank - The wasteland.  I talked about C Rank at length above.  Remember that some of the mons in this rank are not here because they are inherently bad, rather, they are here because there is little reason to use them over better options.  For those with favorites who are locked away in this rank, don't despair, it is entirely possible to incorporate these mons onto teams effectively.  There is just little reason outside of favoritism to do so.

Let's get to it.

This is such a helpful guide for figuring out how to build a team.

Indeed it is! For people who didn't use to write guides for the now (mostly) dead competitive scene, building a team could be quite the challenge, as it would be hard to decide what 'mon is right for a given position. While not having many finer details on the Pokémon itself, this listing does make it clear as to which Pokémon are more viable than others, which is always a good thing to know.

The only problem I have right now is that there too many Nuclear types in the C Bracket, which is a travesty consider the nameshake of the game....
Like the wind, I come and go as I please... but I am always there to provide a comforting breeze.
