Two things to note before I go through with the next post, Dragonstrike:
1: Reiner would still be able to cover the Will Cost, and function afterwards. It'll just leave him extra tired if he doesn't have 3 to pay it for awhile.
2: Since Reiner has such a large amount of Empathy, he won't be completely emotionless/unempathetic. He'll just have a muted/deadened sense of his feelings, unless a particularly emotional event occurs that causes his emotions to spike. Falling into emotionless is what happens if he isn't actively focusing on matters that stimulate his feelings, and can bring himself out of that state without much of a challenge.
Just FYI, mate.
(05-29-2019, 05:13 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: [ -> ]Hmm....well, in that case, Weavile can still retain his Normal Typing alongside his new Shadow 'Typing' . He still gets the Resistances and SE Damage from it (Among other things), but he'll look just like a normal black kitty to most appearance wise. Heck, given his species' typical behavior, his extra Lethality/aggression might not raise any flags either if managed/bluffed right.
Reiner would still become Shadow Type if he shouldered the cost, though.
I will point out something I think is obvious: You could have Reiner make Weavile pay the cost, phone the Merchant for all the Berries needed to unShadowfy his arse (It would cost one Big Nugget, due to discounting), and then force feed them all in one setting (If you're fine with giving him a stomach ache/food overdose [Non-Lethal Problems]) to instantly restore him back to normal.
That right there is the easy way out to pretty much that whole mess, with minimal long term consequences. The other easy way out is have Reiner eat the cost, as he can manage his new state of being and benefit from it (Hello Stat Benefits!) without it negatively affecting his most important Pokemon/Chara Relationships, but still suffering a bit none the less. Beth decided to converse with Reiner due to him being so upset over his partner flying the coop and offer a solution to that mess out of sympathy/interest in his choice , and thereby undo all the negative build up that Weavile has undergone throughout the campaign. If Reiner were okay with Weavile, she wouldn't have done what she is currently doing, and everyone would be out of Celadon now. That's the jist, really.

...*sigh*...this just isn't a good time for me in pokerole lately...
Three questions.
- If Weavile is restored back to normal immediately, does he still get all the benefits of becoming a Shadow Pokemon/being purified?
- If Reiner becomes Shadowed and is purified, do the stat limit breaks remain?
- How much exp would it cost to unlock Mew's ability to purify Shadow Characters?

Hang in there, we're almost done with this flaming heap of a mess that is the tail end of my campaign.
- He won't have the Shadow Benefits once purified (obviously) but the + 1 to either STR/DEX/VIT, and he'll still get the extra/improved Moves upon being purified. He'll also have his Happiness and Loyalty MAXED out too.
- Yes, but all other benefits from being Shadowed are removed (Excepts the + 3 Science)
- 100 XP. Expensive, but it has its uses, and her Purification/Blessing/Will Based Actions will get a boost out of it, and she'll learn unlock any two of her Moves that she used to have access to. It'll also naturally make her QUITE happy, since she'll be finally making progress to restoring herself to her full power.

Okay, next question then. This one's mostly OOC, though.
Is it possible we could maybe tie Weavile's purification into the OTHER surprise we discussed for him? Obviously, it probably won't be the full effect, but...it could be the first real indication of that surprise even being possible.

Certainly! Heck, if you have a Dragon Based Held Item and don't mind him losing + 1 INS + His Current XP, you could make him hold it and THEN Purify him to instantly give him THAT Surprise!

Okay, one more question.
How many is 'a couple' Big Nuggets, exactly? The cost of those berries is rather easily affordable thanks to that, but it'd be nice to have the exact amount since I might be spending one of them.

Two exactly!
Okay.
Let's go with the 'Weavile takes the burden but Reiner purifies him quickly via berries' method.

Gotcha! I'll get things done ASAP then, mate!
Now come the big question: How enter in contact with Weavile?
