"Oh. Hmm....that sounds like a.....cool and very useful.....trait for that.....not Delta Vulpix. …But why isn't it a Delta Pokémon? Nathan explained them to me yesterday, and an Ice Vulpix…sounds like it would be one, if the.....spe….spe…..Pokémon's regular type is Fire and has another ability different to this one? Sorry for asking......but I'm confused by this.... (…) ...Ah, and Hail doesn't bother me....unless I'm....directly in it."
The question is asked with a great deal of trepidation/hesitation on the simple monk's part as he , as even a social dunderhead such as he could tell that this topic was a sensitive one for the fair lady. However, he was thrown for a loop by the contradiction Shiva presented enough that he felt it necessary to clarify the matter for himself, no matter how hazardous it could/would be for their fledging friendship.
…..Please don't let this be another bad, misguided blunder.....
Oh... Given the confusion and worry whether anything was/went wrong that Shiva could pick up from the wandering monk with relative ease - was he too easy to 'read'? - she instantly regretted her plea of not calling white Vulpix a Deltamon to a degree; not really the words however but what an impact they've seemingly left in Terra. But a calm voice in her mind told her that it's better this way, to maybe clarify things right away before he might accidently offend her.
Crossing her arms lightly but loosening that painfully neutral expression, she just let her gaze wander from her white fox (who didn't return it as she was busy looking away from Melly), to jolly Manetric and then to the owner of the charged dog. It was a soft look that held some worry behind the curtain, one that tried to tell that everything was fine and he can loosen up himself. "Well, you do have all reasons to be confused by that, don't worry. Especially when....Nathan already explained you what Delta Pokemon are..." For a moment Shiva's expression darkened here, as if he did this can only mean one thing.... Ugh, just merely thinking of that mockery of a Houndour gave her unpleasant shivers, she's better off to outright and completely
ban it from her thoughts. "Ah, I'd believe if one'd want, one CAN consider my snowy fox a Deltamon. If taking the logical look. Different Type, different Ability, and so on... As one pleases. It's just that....that
I am not seeing her as one. Vulpix bearing the Ice Type, Ice/Fairy when evolving, are native to the far away islands of Alola, an region that's relatively seperated from the other ones. They've adapted to the place when being brought there, and became a
regional variant so far only encounterable there. That's what science calls Pokemon from Kanto bearing a different Type in Alola, and that's the term I prefer."
She hesitates a little before coninuing. "Real Delta Pokemon origin from
Holon. I did read somethings about it in my freetime at home, and what I've found....
scared me, dreaded me... Science reigns there, electromagnetic waves that caused the local Pokemon to mutuate in various ways, an weird inconsitent gene pool. I prefer clean and safe Pokemon Breeding in the way my father handles it... The idea of a Delta Pokemon just gives me an uncomfortable feeling, reminding me of that forced mutation."
"...I hope this explains things to you enough, Terra? T...think of my white Vulpix as what you like, but please don't call or relate her to Delta Pokemon when around me. That's all I'm asking for. If you understand and keep that in mind, all will be fine between us." A small and very careful smile is gifted to him to emphasize that.
"If I...may also tell or advice you something, please don't just follow other people's opinion without question. Explore different viewpoints and angles of the the same thing or issue, and use what you spotted to make your
own opinion of something - one that feels right to
YOU. Allow other people to think differently, don't look down on them if they disagree or see something completely different like me right now. Nathan... He has the habit of only seeing his own opinion as the right one, I don't know if Ventus has told you how stressful it was to deal with him. Keep an open mind - for your and for others sake, Terra."

She didn't recognize either Pokémon facing off against her, but that wasn't going to stop her from having fun and winning the battle for her master, nope~! Time to shock their world, *Bark!*
Basteele, meanwhile, didn't seem to give a damn about Lilith as they glared balefully at the fortune teller, besides the fact they were her opponent, and that they were going DOWN! However, towards A-Vulpix she had a completely polar opposite reaction towards, twisting/turning towards them to give them a happy eye smile and a couple of *Thuding!* hop in greeting! Oh, that's an Ice type she's facing? Sweet! Its been awhile since she's had the pleasure to meet one, so she's CERTAINLY going to enjoy getting to know them better!
Unfortunately, this time it involve crushing them flat, but maybe latter a more peaceful meeting can be arranged? She can only hope, but for now its focusing on WINNING FROM HERE ON OUT!!! Sorry foxy whitey, but thems the breaks!
...Well, that's an unusual reaction, but moving on!
After so many words used to share her thoughts, the fae enthusiast had to take a deeeep breath of the frigid air with eyes closed at first. Haaahhh, she enjoyed how it insta-refreshed her senses a little - she keeps her arms loosely crossed though as she looks back to Terra himself. "...But enough of such a worrysome topic for now, isn't it? It's....it's so adorable to see your Pokemon so energetic! Especially Manetric, but it's also sweet to see Foretress showing some emotion~ Maybe at some later point we can see how they get along outside of battle, playing or training with one another... Do they have nicknames or so?"
Vulpix however squeaked a little as that steely bug 'greeted' her, not being too sure how to react at best. Seemed friendly, but so big and heavy that getting too close might smash her - eeek, better not risk it right now and take a step back from that 'Mon! That blue and yellow canine seemed overly happy to meet and play with her, but its directness let the smol white fox shy away a little. Maybe under more relaxed conditions outside of battle she'd be fine getting to know them as well. Lilith remains stoicly calm at the moment.
