"Oh. Hmm....that sounds like a.....cool and very useful.....trait for that.....not Delta Vulpix. …But why isn't it a Delta Pokémon? Nathan explained them to me yesterday, and an Ice Vulpix…sounds like it would be one, if the.....spe….spe…..Pokémon's regular type is Fire and has another ability different to this one? Sorry for asking......but I'm confused by this.... (…) ...Ah, and Hail doesn't bother me....unless I'm....directly in it."

The question is asked with a great deal of trepidation/hesitation on the simple monk's part as he , as even a social dunderhead such as he could tell that this topic was a sensitive one for the fair lady. However, he was thrown for a loop by the contradiction Shiva presented enough that he felt it necessary to clarify the matter for himself, no matter how hazardous it could/would be for their fledging friendship.

…..Please don't let this be another bad, misguided blunder.....

Oh... Given the confusion and worry whether anything was/went wrong that Shiva could pick up from the wandering monk with relative ease - was he too easy to 'read'? - she instantly regretted her plea of not calling white Vulpix a Deltamon to a degree; not really the words however but what an impact they've seemingly left in Terra. But a calm voice in her mind told her that it's better this way, to maybe clarify things right away before he might accidently offend her.

Crossing her arms lightly but loosening that painfully neutral expression, she just let her gaze wander from her white fox (who didn't return it as she was busy looking away from Melly), to jolly Manetric and then to the owner of the charged dog. It was a soft look that held some worry behind the curtain, one that tried to tell that everything was fine and he can loosen up himself. "Well, you do have all reasons to be confused by that, don't worry. Especially when....Nathan already explained you what Delta Pokemon are..." For a moment Shiva's expression darkened here, as if he did this can only mean one thing.... Ugh, just merely thinking of that mockery of a Houndour gave her unpleasant shivers, she's better off to outright and completely ban it from her thoughts. "Ah, I'd believe if one'd want, one CAN consider my snowy fox a Deltamon. If taking the logical look. Different Type, different Ability, and so on... As one pleases. It's just that....that I am not seeing her as one. Vulpix bearing the Ice Type, Ice/Fairy when evolving, are native to the far away islands of Alola, an region that's relatively seperated from the other ones. They've adapted to the place when being brought there, and became a regional variant so far only encounterable there. That's what science calls Pokemon from Kanto bearing a different Type in Alola, and that's the term I prefer."

She hesitates a little before coninuing. "Real Delta Pokemon origin from Holon. I did read somethings about it in my freetime at home, and what I've found....scared me, dreaded me... Science reigns there, electromagnetic waves that caused the local Pokemon to mutuate in various ways, an weird inconsitent gene pool. I prefer clean and safe Pokemon Breeding in the way my father handles it... The idea of a Delta Pokemon just gives me an uncomfortable feeling, reminding me of that forced mutation."

"...I hope this explains things to you enough, Terra? T...think of my white Vulpix as what you like, but please don't call or relate her to Delta Pokemon when around me. That's all I'm asking for. If you understand and keep that in mind, all will be fine between us." A small and very careful smile is gifted to him to emphasize that.

"If I...may also tell or advice you something, please don't just follow other people's opinion without question. Explore different viewpoints and angles of the the same thing or issue, and use what you spotted to make your own opinion of something - one that feels right to YOU. Allow other people to think differently, don't look down on them if they disagree or see something completely different like me right now. Nathan... He has the habit of only seeing his own opinion as the right one, I don't know if Ventus has told you how stressful it was to deal with him. Keep an open mind - for your and for others sake, Terra."

Basteele, meanwhile, didn't seem to give a damn about Lilith as they glared balefully at the fortune teller, besides the fact they were her opponent, and that they were going DOWN! However, towards A-Vulpix she had a completely polar opposite reaction towards, twisting/turning towards them to give them a happy eye smile and a couple of *Thuding!* hop in greeting! Oh, that's an Ice type she's facing? Sweet! Its been awhile since she's had the pleasure to meet one, so she's CERTAINLY going to enjoy getting to know them better!

Unfortunately, this time it involve crushing them flat, but maybe latter a more peaceful meeting can be arranged? She can only hope, but for now its focusing on WINNING FROM HERE ON OUT!!! Sorry foxy whitey, but thems the breaks!

...Well, that's an unusual reaction, but moving on!

After so many words used to share her thoughts, the fae enthusiast had to take a deeeep breath of the frigid air with eyes closed at first. Haaahhh, she enjoyed how it insta-refreshed her senses a little - she keeps her arms loosely crossed though as she looks back to Terra himself. "...But enough of such a worrysome topic for now, isn't it? It's....it's so adorable to see your Pokemon so energetic! Especially Manetric, but it's also sweet to see Foretress showing some emotion~ Maybe at some later point we can see how they get along outside of battle, playing or training with one another... Do they have nicknames or so?"

Vulpix however squeaked a little as that steely bug 'greeted' her, not being too sure how to react at best. Seemed friendly, but so big and heavy that getting too close might smash her - eeek, better not risk it right now and take a step back from that 'Mon! That blue and yellow canine seemed overly happy to meet and play with her, but its directness let the smol white fox shy away a little. Maybe under more relaxed conditions outside of battle she'd be fine getting to know them as well. Lilith remains stoicly calm at the moment.

The simple monk didn't untense as Shiva explained her views/opinion on what constituted a Delta Pokémon, but his befuddlement slowly but surely vanished, replaced with his de rigor calm seriousness. A lot of the fine/technical details (What's the Alola/Holan Region, Electromagnetic Waves, Gene Pool and mutations?) flew completely over his head as he listened, but he could understand the jist of what she was saying - 'Fluffy white fox was a Delta Species, but Shiva didn't like that term/ ide and preferred Regional Variant to described F.W.F, so please don't call it a Delta in front of her.'

Her...less than saccharine views on Nathan's behavior did cause him to frown to himself, but he understood that she was trying to give him honest advice from the heart. Not all suggestions/idea (good or bad) were nice or kind, after all.

"....I understand Shiva. There is a.....difference between Delta Pokemon and Regional Variants, your fluffy white fox.....is the later, and you don't like it when people call it a Delta. Sorry for the......mistake, and I will not call your Vulpix… that again. Promise."

Terra's tone was still somewhat hesitant/deliberate, but he no longer looked as if he strained with discomfort. Goody!

".....I know what Nathan is like. Ventus told me all about him....Heart....Valder…and you, Shiva. Both good things.....and bad."

...He then continued, his mood turned reflective and....still, for lack of a better word.

"...Don't have.....complex perspective on things, Pokémon, and people. I just have simple.....rules to live by, and try my best to good things for everyone when I can, and if its needed. Other ideas....beliefs....strange Knowledge.....I listen, keep it in mind, and try to understand the best I can. But I don't worry about it. Keep an open mind and a open heart to....everything, even things I don't like or agree with, until I can not. Judge people and Pokémon myself, get to know them first, best I can. Only then, I decide to accept them, good or bad, or....not. Even if I judge someone badly, I'm not.....harsh or mean with them, and I'm willing to give somone another chance to be good, no matter what."

A brief period of silence stretched to fill the gap in conversation as the rugged wanderer continued to look pensive and mull over his words, until he closed his eyes and finally let out a heavy *Sigh*, before looking back at the fair lady with solemnity.

"I know Nathan is stubborn....aggressive, and hard to deal with. Know he can be selfish or.....not care so much for others.....opinions too. Ven told me all of that. ….But if that is true, I also see a young boy with a good heart. One that shares strong, close bonds with his Pokémon. One that tries his best in everything, and be nice and.....tolerant to others, even if he's annoyed or grumpy."

"He is not perfect....but he is not bad, so I think of them as friends and accept them. That is that."

...

"....Same with you. Ven told me you can very sensitive, secretive and reckless, can be spiteful or cold to others, and are......moody. But I see a woman with a big heart that shares it with everyone, and is......earnest in what she does. One that cares for others, and tries to......teach and help other best she can. "

...

"…I have also seen you being cold and sensitive now, like Ven has said. Saying not nice things about our friend, and judging him poorly for not being want you wish. That...is not good…………but I accept that. I accept you. I know you are a good person, Shiva, even if you have.....flaws. Just like Nathan. You two.....imperfect....but more than okay people. Like me....like everyone else."

...

".....I understand and accept you, but can you understand and accept me?"

…
…
…Well, things got a whole lot more heavy than expected.
Terra's promise to not use the words 'white Vulpix/fluffy white fox' and 'Delta Pokemon/Delta' in the same breath was a great relief for Shiva, one that means quite a lot to her and she gratefully accepted: Her arms remained loosely crossed and her stance somewhat protective, but it didn't give off that plain and serious impression anymore. In fact, fae enthusiast smiled dearly to herself. "Thank you, Terra. Really. Ah, don't be sorry though, you couldn't know and you didn't do anything wrong - if, I should apologize for bringing it up at all. But, being protective over things that mean something to you and clear matters beforehand when appropriate - it's better than having to mend things afterwards, is it....? Well, ehm... I'd guess it indeed is. Thank you again..."

.....
.........
...........You there?
I'm always there, my dear. I'm part of you.
Mental note, maybe try to keep things more simple the next time when explaining detailed things to Terra.
Noted.

Huh, Shiva found herself being mildly suprised as he began to share how he usually view things, or how he approaches matters and creates his own opinion on things/how he handles different views than his own. But, thinking about it, maybe it was something she said - nah, it probably was.

With great interest she listened how he usually follows the attitude of 'keeping things and life simple', but she wasn't too sure what to respond to him as he turned silent again. Or, she didn't quite know how to express her thoughts in words in this case, prefering to keep them for herself and only giving an accepting and soft look to this mountain of a man who happened to be her foe in this battle that hopefully made it to channel her feeling of 'This is totally fine' to him properly and enough. Doing ones best to understand different points and keeping the heart and mind open were traits that she highly valued, it adds to her developing positive image of Terra. Well done, I guess!

The idea of imperfection of a person - or, on people in general - was something Shiva could relate too as well. Something within her wanted to say 'If you could find and show me a perfect human being, I'll release all my Pokemon and take on your hard lifestyle', but she felt better with being silent and only listen to what he told. Though, having her own flaws being recounted in front of her was a bit more than hard to swallow for her, which showed as she opened her arms, put them together behind her back, shuffled her feet a little on the dry ground of the savannah and prefered to muster the thistles over him. It was all so true what he said... Apart from maybe 'reckless' as she fails to remember a moment where she's been like that.

Things softened however as Terra opened up that he accepts her anyway. This was unwillingly sweet to hear, and caused her halt and slowly face him again with a pretty careful expression. Being called a good person by him despite they haven't interacted too much/have gotten to know one another more must have hit her positively.

Her gaze remained on him as he asked whether she does understand and accept him as well, out of shyness she prefered to look at Gothy though when answering. "....I DO accept you, I'd say. I see no reason why I shouldn't from what I've gotten to know about you so far, but it's not much you have shared or showed so far and I'd need to gain a refined image of you before considering you a friend. Understanding and a hope to get to know you more is definitely there from my side however, I bet Ventus wouldn't...want it otherwise. You've been kind to me and Cottonee seems to like you already, and I'm loyal until you do something to hurt me or my Pokemon with full awareness. You....aren't giving me the feeling that you'd do something like that."

A single, calm nod of his head was given to Shiva, untensing/relaxing a little further as all was cleared and forgiven/waved off between them. He did have one last thing on this matter, though, as she brought up her rationale for her defensiveness/protectiveness over what her foxy whitey is call.

"Perhaps. Sometimes, better to keep silent, or find other ways to.....express your opinion, nicely or not. Hard to judge when to do what, though....at least for me. Always have trouble with choosing which....."

He got his message/teaching across without estranging him from her......fantastic.

Shiva herself didn't really had anything more to add on this topic; she remains a bit meek but also delightful that things didn't go wrong and Terra accepts to what she asked from him. It may not be overly visible on the outside, but she does indeed have to give him great credit for this! She shouldn't feel bad about asking for her white Vulpix not being called a Delta after all, the fox belongs to her and while she can't rename Vulpix because she doesn't bear her OT, Shiva DOES have a right to determine how fox's looked at.

Terra already apologizing for any hurtful things he'd accidently do in the future was somewhat amusing for her to see, she wouldn't have thought that a man like him could be so...soft? Careful? Watchful to by no means do or say anything wrong? Haha... A good trait.

She felt taken aback however as the wandering monk asked THAT, which showed as she simply stared at him in wondering and confusion. W-why does want to know that?? The more she'd ponder about it the less it'll do her well, so after a heavy but respectfully impercible© sigh she decided to just be blunt about it. "I do accept him as a vital member of our small traveling group, if that's what you're asking, Terra. We're stronger and better when together, we all matter in a specific way. Not a bad person per se, no - you're right on this. Understand - I'm doing my best to do so. I'm taking care to not treat him differently, don't worry. I'm there in times of need. However, he has done things, whether aware or unaware, that to me someone who's a friend wouldn't do, l....like, well... hurting my feelings and prying when I would prefer to be left at my peace. I have a hard time trusting him again, if he wants to restore things, he has to work on it. If he doesn't...well.... let it be that way then. I'll wait and will still be there for him when he needs me." *indifferent shrugging as if she's simply too good to be bad or reject things*

All of that was said with a rather calm and lower voice, but given how she prefers to look at the few trees and the thistles with force it's rather obvious that talking about makes her uncomfortable and is by no means easy for her. In fact, a quiet sniffle escapes her as if it hurts her to deal with that.

"I don't wish to talk more about this though, or emphasize things, please." Clear words, but they're said in an honestly pleading/asking tone than an ordering one.
