"Yeah, I was going to go see if I could do another round or two of Shuckleball myself. Not for the prizes, though. Primarily for the Persim Berry Juice, actually." That Misdreavus that Miller had was pretty scary. In a battle with no switching, Confusion is a definite worry. Oh yeah! Miller! "I'll meet you guys at the Center when I'm done, okay?" Nathan walks back over to the stands, and catches the trainer before he leaves. "Great gym battle, yeah? Hey, thanks again for the battle, earlier. I appreciated the difficulty level. I was thinking we could maybe have a rematch sometime if we meet again and you're up for one. Register phone numbers, even. What do ya say?"
Regardless of the result of that, Nathan's going to go check out the Shuckleball court again, and play it twice with Swiftfire using Flame Charge if it's still open (he's not there for prizes primarily, so let's make this a little more interesting with a 50/50 gamble). Persim berries for both rounds. If it's not available for some reason, he'll just buy two persim berries instead.
Hearing that both Shiva and Nathan were heading to the festival (and that Shiva subtly wanted her coin back), Ventus nodded his head in assent. "This is the last day of the grand festival, so why not celebrate it instead of slush rushing of to bed? In fact, I might just participate in this "ShuckleBall" with you. I don't like the event myself, but Apsis could use the opportunity to slack her thirst of violence by taking it out on an indestructible bug. At the very least, I'll get to spend time with you and get some Berry Juice for the team! Oh, and before I forget again, here is your Coin back, Shiva. I very much appreciate your generosity, my friend!" the researcher responded, before he walked out with them and into the dying festival. One last night of merriment could not hurt them, right?
Order: Give Carny Coin back to Shiva, get Prize Money from Zamboni, then head to the Festival and play the Shuckle Ball game with Nathan (Pokémon to use Apsis; Move: Ice Fang). If its close, buy some Berry Juice instead and hang around Nathan.

Shiva was also thankful that he understood that she wasn't much a type who would engage in active cheering. Her Electric rodents were gladly taking this role. She was more...calm support. In fact, this rematch would not have taken place if she would not have handed him her CarnyCoin... Now say again that the people who prefer to stay in the background to pull the strings - may it be with good or bad intentions - are unimportant.
Still, she had the most appreciating and delighted smile for him as she congratulated him for his victory. And for the great and enjoyable show he pulled through.
Her own Pokemon - actually just Cottonee and Helios - were fully healed up by now from Nurse Joy (I assume they are by now?), so thankfully she accepted them back. While she had no battle against Zamboni himself, that one against the tanky Lapras was just as awesome and educational to her.
Hearing Ventus express his thought returning to the Pokemon Center, she remembered something... "Oh, eh, Ven, mind if we pay the Festival another visit? Just for short, I...would like to trade the CarnyCoin I gave you for something. And maybe catch up a Paralyze Heal while we're there."

Nathan's actually kinda glad to hear Ventus is going to give Shuckleball a shot if it's still open!  Who knows?  Maybe he'd do rather well?  It also gives him a good chance to bring up his minor concerns about Aspis...
(so, which two berries are you using, and how many times are you playing? Â $300 a round, available berries are pecha, persim, and sitrus [cost extra])
(I believe I want some Sitrus Juice, so two Strus Berries just incase a Team member get Lethal damage sometime in the future. Having something to help treat it would be a boon indeed!)
As expected, he was true to his words - she gladly accepted the CarnyCoin back from Ventus, then joined them heading to the Festival.
Upon arriving... "Well, eh, do whatever you people want, I'll go and see what I can trade for the CarnyCoin. I'll probably come back to meet you here at the Shuckleball field; if you're not present, I'll just head to the Pokemon Center. See you then!"
With those words, she left, minding her own business. No much up now for chatter about Shuckleball and the loud atmosphere there. Or anything.
(Iron, if the items you get for 1 CarnyCoin stay the same, I guess I'll trade it for 1 Ultra Ball. That one will be saved for an elusive catch that does not deserve to be beaten before catch. Oh, and I'm buying two Paralyze Heal for 160$ each - 200$ without the 20% discount.)
Yes, the CarnyCoin prizes are constant. The prize for beating Zamboni is $400. You also gain a Will Point, Ventus, if I didn't already give you one. That's from the cheerleading and the victory.
Miller is willing to register phone numbers.
Let's play some Shuckleball! Mr. Pin says he's currently reorganizing the battlefield, but you can still play if you don't mind the mess.
Flame Charge
(3) Shuckle becomes Bug Type. +1 dice! And he's loaded up with Persim Berries, which he begins brewing immediately.
(3)(6)(5)(3)(4)(4) + (6) 5/7 successes
Shuckle's juice explodes like a shaken soda when Swiftfire's flaming tackle sends him off. This bounces him around in new and unpredictable ways, testing the limits of Mr. Pin's careful arena. The fiery trail is beautiful in the dusk.
Shuckle flows into a tunnel, where his light is extinguished, but then he reappears before landing in pit 4C. The prize is an Ultraball and a Persim Berry Juice.
Flame Charge
(4) Shuckle is Rock type now!
Swiftfire is all hopped up on adrenaline from the previous round.
(4)(4)(6)(3)(2) + (6) 4/6 successes
Shuckle flies even further, losing its master a valuable Mystic Water prize! and a Berry Juice.
Ice Fang $300 base, +$150/Sitrus Berry = $600
(6) Shuckle is Rock type
(4)(2)(3)(6)(6)
Apsis spits Shuckle onto the arena, with a tinkling of ice.
Shuckle goes flying toward a pit, which Mr. Pin had recently repainted in bright colors with a special flashing paint. Just then, a Hoothoot swoops down and fuckles with Shuckle's trajectory! The owl drops the bug Pokemon when it gets too rocklike and heavy. Shuckle stops short, not even in a prize pit. Just then a wild Spinarak happens along, lured by the sweet scent of Sitrus Berry. It attaches a web to Shuckle and starts hauling him back to its lair. Fortunately, Shuckle falls in a prize pit at last and the web breaks.
Mr. Pin grabs Shuckle and rushes behind his stall. "Uhhhh this is all part of the experience, folks!" He tosses Ventus a Sitrus Berry Juice (Heals 4hp, can be held, also helps cure Lethal damage - like a Potion, these heal decreasing amounts if used consecutively) and a Hard Stone with a Shuckle design on it.
The two nocturnal Pokemon turn and make for Ventus.
Initiatives: Ventus (4) +5 = 9
Spinarak: (6) + 3 = 9
Hoothoot: 4) +3 = 7

Staring at the two Pokémon making there way towards him, Ventus just faceplams in at just how
odd his luck is. Sliding his hand down his face, he just quirks an eyebrow at the two nocturnal Pokémon, and points at his Arbok, which was currently eyeing up the two wild Pokémon like they were the tastiest morsels. "I am usually not one to raise any objections to a battle, but you two
do realize that I have an Arbok? One that is, quite frankly, not uninclined to gobble both of you up?" the researcher said, deadpanning at both the critters. Apsis let out a long *hisssssssss* , which sounded
very hunger. Her master didn't allow her to eat some fox, so some bird and bug sounds good!
Quicker than the eye can follow,
Apsis lashes out at the Hoothoot, frost already forming on her fangs!
Order: Apsis is going to single out the Hoothoot and use Ice Fang repeatedly in sequence, then do the very same to Spinarak. I assume I don't have to tell you what Apsis will do to those Pokémon after they are knocked out?
Moves:
Ice Fang
Accuracy Pool: Pool 3 and Pool 2
DEX (2) + Fight (2) + Brawl (2 [Upgraded!]) - Accuracy (1) - Consecutive Actions (-2 on first hit, -3 on second)
Damage: STR + 2 + Super Effective (1)
Effect: *Freeze 2* *Flinch 2*
Lucky that there still was someone at the stall for trading CarnyCoins at this hours. Delighted over her new acquirement- a blasted Ultra Ball for that coin! Not as nice as a Love or Luxury Ball, but still nice indeed! - Shiva made her way back to the Shuckleball field to meet up with the others again... when she stopped half way. Was that...a battle Ven was involved in there? Appearantly a Hoothoot and a Spinarak (ugh, Bug Types...) were pestering his newely evolved Arbok. Didn't need more than one glance to notice that mentioned snake looked rather hungry.
... Actually, this was handy. Let's see how he can handle the Arbok from a safe distance, and how it behaves in general. After all, Ekans just get more aggressive upon evolving. She was not really 'scared' of the enourmous snake, rather somewhat...cautios. She trusted though that Ventus had the skills to control it. Just wanted to make sure she wasn't mistaken in this point.
(I'm not really 'hiding', but if you want a Stealth Check here, feel free to do so!)
No need for a Stealth check, I don't think.

(3)(4)(2) Spinarak begins to skitter away with just 1 hp remaining, but Apsis snatches her up in icy jaws and swallows.
Mr Pin yells, "Aren't you going to stop your Arbok?"
Ventus replies icily in the negative. Arbok chaws down on both Pokemon; now that she's bigger, she can eat a lot more each week.
"Ok. Never come near my Shuckle ever again." He pulls out his Pokedex and takes a picture of you, prints it out, and hangs it on his wall.
"Shuckleball is closed for the ending of the festival. Good day, sirs!"
