Yanma Round 1

Super Fang 1 - boosted by Compoundeyes
(1)(5)(4)(3)(4)(3) (3)(3)
Hida takes 5 dmg 5/10hp -2 pain
Flame Body: (4)(2)(2)

Hida summons the memories of a thousand years training on a volcano. He's holding back, his eyes closed as he reminisces.
(Btw, no Special stat in this game. We just use Strength).
Ancient Power 2
(2)(5)(4)(2)(4)(1) (4)
6d6 - 4 vit = 2d6
(5)(6) Yanma takes 2 dmg from the held back move. He's now at 2/8hp -2 pain
CD: (2)
Yanma turns to flee. You can try to get him to stay, or you can go right for the capture, or you can renew battle.
A woman also clambers out from a big hollow in the tree. She's GORGEOUS: tall, with long flowing hair down to her waist, a very fine jacket covered in mud, and pale blue slippers on her feet. The effect is a little spoiled by her backpack.
"I was pretty sure it was a Chansey too. I need that Chansey for my Gym. Roggenrola Serperior Scizor for who gets to catch it? Best of three?" She strikes her fist against her flat palm three times.
In that case, let's go straight for the capture.
"Gym? Might I ask your name?" after getting her name, he tries to distract her so he can chase after the Chansey "Hey look! A shiny Pokemon," he says, pointing in the opposite direction. (if the distracting don't work, he'll go along with the game of Roggenrola, Serperior, Scizor.) He tries to not let the beauty of the lady phase him.

Swoltortle
(...)
Bastiodon gains 6XP and 1 Loyalty, since the strategy worked. Even though for Bastiodon, taking down Wartortle "fast" means 3 rounds.
(Which means 3 XP for Terra! Nice!)
Terra was flinching alongside his prehistoric powerhouse as the Swoltortle drenched and battered them down with its fluffy white tail, as those
had to hurt, but it didn't prevent him from rushing over to patch them up at the opportune moment. No way was he going to let his partners down, even if it means risking life and limb!
He was, however, impressed that Bastiodon managed to avoid hurting himself with Head Smash while bashing the brawling turtle into the dirt, and in relatively short amount of time/Actions to booth (if one discounts the Flinching, that is)! Add in the fact they were dealing with a bad Type matchup on top of everything else, and Overall his trampling tricera did an great job defeating his aquatic foe. Guess great Defense can overcome stiff opposition, if you put enough effort into it!
Once everything settled down, the mountain of the man wandered over to Bastiodon, and rests on their head plate, smiling down on them with pride and affection.
"Well done, my friend. Took worst from......tough turtle, and gave back twice as much. Very good. Feel.....closer to you now, too. You feel same? Hm....*Nods* yes,
we do. Believe its time to......give you name. It will be.....Edmundi. Means 'Prosperity Protector' . Fitting for you....I think. *Looks at them* Do you like it?"
After Edmundi/Bastiodon gives his input of his new name, Terra
decides to summon his Forrestress, and do the following, if possible, as he has a few ideas....:
- Seed the area in front of his fishing spot with Stealth Rocks, Spikes, and Toxic Spikes, so that when he catches something, he can reel/drag it into the Hazards.
- With thick gloves wrapped in plastic he carries around for this occasion, Terra will pick up a Toxic Spike and poke Swolturtle with it in order to Poison/Toxic (If that is Rolled for) it. If it works, it works, and makes them easier to catch!
- 3 Pokeballs will be thrown at Swolturtle to catch it, then 1 Great Ball if those two fail. If turtle still proves resistant to capture, then Terra will cure its Poisoning with Antidote, Heal any Lethal Damage with an appropriate amt of Energy Powder, and then throw it back into the drink, as it proved its determination enough to keep its freedom. If captured, straight to the PC it goes!
- Terra will be fishing again with Better Quality Bait, this time choosing Anubi to be his battle partner, but not before 12 XP is spent to increase Terra's Nature to 3! Let's see what's pulled out of the drink next time!

Getting out of Area 1: (6)
Aggressive Pokemon: (2) You don't encounter any problems.
Rarity check: (3)(6) One safari success.
All you find is an Exeggcute.
Aggression roll has to be equal to or less than the Area #. A (1) is the worst trouble the Area has to offer.
"My Pokemon are OK. Thanks for not scolding me."
You also manage to find a small basket's worth of birch bark. Finding more than that would be a search for another Encounter.
"My name is Angela. I run a gym on the east coast, deep in the swamp. But most of my Pokemon come from elsewhere - I just like the solitude of the swamp. A shiny? Where do you see a shiny? I don't see a shiny."
That technique probably won't work because you need a lot more than a split second to catch the Chansey.
Safari Ball: (3)(2)(1)(1) v (6)(4)(2)(5) 1 ball breaks.
(4)(2)(2)(5) v (4)(1)(3)(4) That's a tie - no capture, but the ball doesn't break.
(6)(2)(2)(4) v (5)(3)(4)(6) Another broken ball

"Noice! Looks like a excellent opportunity to put Heracross and D-ONIX in battle!" Heart approach Exeggcute and release his two powerhouse in the battlefield! "Heracross and D-ONIX, time to shine!"
With a few adaptations, the Toxic Spikes plan works. You kind of have to roll the unconscious Wartortle around in the spikes - it takes more than a couple pokes.

Well, this is going well. Â What Gender is Phanpy, though? Oh, and don't forget that the Eviolite gives Juliet +1 Defense!
If Male, Juliet's orders are to use Telekinesis, Attract, Hypnosis, then Confuse Ray.
If Female, Juliet's orders Telekinesis, Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, and Night Shade/Psywave (whichever she'd prefer).
Grid's orders are to use String Shot, Spider Web, then Leech Life.
Another 2 Safari Balls have Phanpy's name on them once the two pokemon have sufficiently weakened Phanpy!
Fishing - 2
(3)(2)(5)(4)(3)(6) (2)(4) - 5 successes.
Little Anubi finds himself face to face with a long, angry Dragalge! It absorbs the spikes right up, but it takes 2 dmg from the other entry hazards. 9/11hp -1 pain.
