"Thank you, Mr. Zachariah. This also comes with 1 demerit on your trainer license. At four demerits, you lose your license and the right to train Pokemon unsupervised."
He scans it and it beeps.
"Naturally, if you are found not guilty of the lethal attack charge, the demerit will be waived. Oh? I see you are not from Creshire. You also risk losing your visa if you cannot use your Pokemon without resorting to lethal force, and living within the rules of this region. Here is the form for issuing a complaint about my conduct. And here's a pen. The address or Pokefax number is on the form."
"Please, stick around while I talk to your friends and corroborate your story. We're already interviewing that gentleman" *points to Sage*.
An officer smiles to Ventus and offers him some fruity gum while Lumin goes over to Shiva.
"Ma'am, I am Chief Ranger Lumin. I'd like you to tell me in your own words what happened with this Pinsir trainer."

An officer smiles to Ventus and offers him some fruity gum while Lumin goes over to Shiva.
"Ma'am, I am Chief Ranger Lumin. I'd like you to tell me in your own words what happened with this Pinsir trainer."
Accepting the gum, forms, and pen, but putting the gum in his pocket, he nods at Lumen. "Understood, sir. As for my Visa, if I happen to have it revoked for any reason, I can always get it back after a few month of working out all the details. Getting into Cheshire might be needlessly obtuse, but if I obtained access before, it will not be impossible to get it back," Ventus says, before moving off to the side and taking a set on the hard ground, and began to fill out the forms he was given. He made extra sure while writing up his report to call to attention the ranger's suspicious nature, the 'Guilty before proven Innocent' attitude he was given, and the needless badgering he was subjected to, despite clearly answer all his question.
'Hmm...looks like I need to make a call to the RU then. I hoped not to involve them in this matter, but it appears that it could not be avoided. I just hope that Nathan does not get too worked up over this...'
Eh... I'm sorry? They question her as well... Should have known. Especially if they already asked Sage about the matter (When they did so... Let's not think about that) and she was present as well during the wole thing. Frightened and stuff, but still present.
How does Ventus make it to stay so calm in this... Probably the fact that the he already has dealt with Officiers. She, has not. There never was a need to do so. So many Growlithes here, even taking one step into th wrong direction could end up badly.
Still, she somehow managed to keep a clear tone in voice. Nothing of the insecurity came to the shore. It would only be counterproductive if it did.
"Well... Ventus here actually already told the whole story. We were inside the Healer's shack when we saw one of our party has gone outside... Given we shouldn't split up so deep in the woods, we decided to follow to check on him. Found out he was after a person we didn't notice until then and could not prevent him from pushing that person into the pond."
"Practically speaking, I ...was driven by fear over the whole situation... How could I expect something like this to happen? Not at all, indeed. But, that Paralysis was my fault... I wanted to dimish any threats before they could occur. Same goes for that Pinsir that appeared and opened battle then, I never ordered any lethal damage. In fact, none of my Pokemon is able to inflict direct lethal damage, and I have enough control over them to stop and return to me as soon the opponent faints."
You actually didn't hear Ventus' exact testimony, as he was taken aside, but given that he organized it so you'd all have similar stories, it's fair to say you could guess the gist of it.
"Ah, so you ordered an attack on a trainer directly? Was it an attack like Thunderbolt or an attack like Thunder Wave?"
"Ma'am, what was your reasoning for considering the victim a 'threat'? You must know that attacks on a trainer are not permitted except in cases of clear self-defense. By my understanding he had already been shoved into the water!"
"Simple Thunder Wave. Nothing that would inflict damage." ... "I've also been aware of the possibility to accidently drown him, but was pretty sure at the same time that none of the currently present woul let that happen."
As for why she saw this as a threat... Interesting question. To bad she's unsure how to explain that in a rational way. "I just...had the feeling that there was something up. Something far more could happen if we don't dimish things from the start on. I also did not wanted to cause uneccessary problems for the Healer living nearby, but, as you see, we may have failed spectacularly. Actual plan was to paralyze the person who fell into the pond, bring them to the shore together, then use a Paralyze Heal if expresses him not harmful at all." ... ... In a lower tone, a little fear between the lines: "But then, that Pinsir appeared and gave the wrong expression - that it was up to a furious battle instead of just helping his Master out."
"I see. As I told Ventus, gauging threats accurately is part of being a good trainer. If I could give you a word of advice, it would be to not let fear rule you and impair your judgment. From now on, if you see suspicious activity, just say "Dial Rangers" to your Pokedex. Oh, you don't have one? I'll put my number into your cell then. It's an automated system that tries to connect you with the right force for the job, so don't be surprised if you don't get me personally. But sometimes you might. Anyway, I'm going to ticket you as well. Please do not use Pokemon attacks on trainers. Since it was a Thunder Wave and not an attacking move, and you didn't threaten with lethal force, your fine will be $500. You have one week to pay this fine or to file the appropriate paperwork. I'm not going to give you a demerit, but your Trainer License will record that you received a warning."
"Now, tell me about that gentleman there." *points to Sage*.
"Our anonymous tip described him as being the first aggressor. The victim says Rufflet was also cleared to use Lethal damage. Why do you think the man (what is his name, anyway?) decided to attack unprovoked?"
Fivehundr... damn. But you're luckily it's not more. And even more luckily you are able to pay right away, if wished. But let's wait for now... Things may turn within one week.
Oh... She very well knew about that flaw of hers. When fear strikes, she might loose it. "Well, eh, sure... Thanks for the advice. Appreciated. Still learning, after all." ... "And thanks for the number! I'll make sure to only use it in emergencies."
Next question... Eh... "Quite honestly, I have no idea. We just met him alongside the way. Maybe he wanted to protect us, maybe impress us, maybe help us in any way. I must have missed he ordered lethal attacks... Because if I would have heard, I'd interfere... Rufflet surely are great Pokemon. Known for their bravery. Maybe that could have played a role."
(Now with Iron off, I'll be off as well for some hours.)
They continue to question Sage, but we'll assume that goes about how you'd expect and he'll probably end up with a fine too.
You return to town and get paid for the quests you signed up for.
Shiva is free to head off to the east of town for a twilight encounter with a mystic fire Pokemon.
The woodchopping quest has gone to bed, naturally.
Nurse Joy tells Nathan that the Rangers and cops have found a "person of interest" in the Mega Pinsir case.
Finishing up the form and stowing it away in his satchel (He was not going to give it to the Ranger he just critzied!), he got up from the ground and waited for Lumen to finish interrogating Shva and Sage. Ventus couldn't quite overhear what they were saying, he did pick up from his friend that while nervous and a tad fearful of the questions, she was not being treated harshly like he was. He couldn't pick up anything from Sage; perhaps the drugs was obscuring his true emotional state?
'The officers are not causing my friends undo distress, so they are doing at least a small part of their career correctly. Well, now all I have to worry about is paying off this fine, updating Nathan on the information I obtained from my encounters, and...revealing to the others what I know of Genesect. Given the boy's anger at me, for whatever reason, this group meeting will not be pleasant in the least,' Ventus thought, internally dreading his future meeting with Nathan. If he had to guess, their conversation will end up...explosively.
Soon, one everyone had their time with Ranger Chief, the officers left their company to do whatever investigation they desired. Upon arriving to town, and desiring to delay his inevitable confrontation with Nathan as long as possible, he went to collect his payment for the services rendered, then made his way to the Genesect Statue. Staring somewhat suspiciously at the statue, he [b] tried to do a thorough investigation of it without drawing too much attention (if their are people around it). 'If I found the Burn Drive lodged in an underwater base, then something must be up with this monument. Just what, pray tell, is the question...'
Order: Give a thorough and discrete investigation of the statue, before doing anything else with it. If possible, he'll attempt an empathy reading of it to see if something off with it...
Well, it does look like the drive currently in the statue can be taken out, though it's a bit rusty.
