Elya:
"Well, being a Scimitar is about two things: choosing the right spells to have ready, and then using them in creative ways. Since I like to hide beneath the surface until the time is right, or pop out and screw people over, it's all about positioning. And with Tremor, you have to be careful about what you might knock over. Is that enough talking for now?"

One joined because they firmly believe the Scims can stop the Comet, and seems like a good person...
The other doesn't know what they're fighting for, only having joined because they have family among the Scims' ranks. Â But again, they don't seem like a bad person on first examination...
At the moment, Nathan has one question for both of them: "If someone was in danger or suffering, and you were the only one who could help them, what would you do?  To be clear, I want a general answer, not really anything pertaining to any specific situation."
Nathan knows what his answer to that question is. Â It's a question he's had to ask himself many times on his journey...his answer is always the same, though.
Kelda: "Sure, I'd help. Why not?" She keeps it short.
Grim is the opposite, he goes on a long diatribe about utilitarianism and when he'd help and when he wouldn't. He gives it a lot of thought before each situation - what he'd do if he had to sacrifice himself to help a random person (wouldn't help), to help a sufficiently important person (would help), or if it didn't cost him anything (would help no matter what). Gallade thinks some of that is just bravado - Grim might find himself helping despite his better judgment.

"I helped weave those restraints, yeah. It takes three of us capable of casting each spell, to make one restraint."
"Oh cool! So you do cast spells. That's awesome!!"

"We might be doing some more talking,
in the ruins." meaning, Spira's choosing to tag up with Elya. Hopefully things will go swimmingly between them.
Noire, who is also currently out, gives Elya a slightly spiteful look as if to say "You better not do anything fishy to master!"

One more question for both of them, then. Something a little more specific.
"What if it wasn't a person in trouble, but a pokemon instead, and you don't know how weak or strong it might be?  What then? Would you help?"
Given that Nathan is asking Scimitars this question, there's a generally expected answer...but maybe someone will surprise Nathan with their individual opinion, rather than the organization's general tendencies as a whole...

We can try it sometime, your Pokemon against my spells. Just don't tell the boss."
This offer to duel, you sense, is kind of like an olive branch coming from Arachnautilus.
Shiva kinda wishes to hammer some manners into Arachnautilus' stubborn head with a
full-force Rock Smash, but she mischievously smirks even more at the offer of duel at some point. "...I'd be down for that. Maybe. If we get along alright down there." At the words 'down there', Shiva nods towards the Ruins obviously. That's her way to accept the offered olive branch.
(I'll still call her Arachna just because.)

Grim: "Pokemon are a resource. I'd help only if there was a chance it would be strong or interesting. Since you said I don't know its strength, there are a lot of circumstances where I wouldn't bother to help. Pokemon can take care of themselves, or not." But Grim is absentmindedly stroking one of the Pokeballs hidden in his belt as he says this.
Kelda: "Scimitars don't hate Pokemon, Nathan! They're just a distraction from the arcane arts, which are what really matter. So...I probably wouldn't help the Pokemon, 'cause I should be practicing. But maybe if it wasn't going to take much time." (She clearly feels bad about this)

Heart simple sigh and didnt reply to Gendry answer. He deslikes this idea of join forces with the ones who cause so much pain to him and their friends. Heart still did not forget what they did Nathan uncle and father. And for the kipnap of Rose. Since that event, things between Heart and the Scimitars become personal. But for the sake of the entire region (and problably the world) Heart is willing to drop the hatred for the greater good. Even if that means join forces with those cultists. But he have a eyes on them. Including this Gendry guy. He do not know if he is indeed a well grounded man, or it is just a façade. Its not hurt have his alert instics on the maximum level.
