Legendaries can be given a pronoun, since they have distinct personalities that might be gendered. Thus, "he" is acceptable for this Genesect. Biologically, Genesect is neutral. To the Pokemon it makes no difference.

Now he'll make a better snack.

Crunch 2

(2) No damage
CD: (1)
He finds that watery exoskeleton entirely unappetizing, and he's come way too close to that deadly stinger now.
Fell Stinger 3
(1)(3)(5)(6)(4)(2) (6)(5) Critical
(3)(6)(3)(3)(4)(4) (5) Croconaw faints. Str +2!
You can tell that Arete would gladly tear Croconaw to shreds if it weren't for the enchanted song.
Bite 3
(4)(1)(1) Miss.
Arete still has two buffed Fell Stingers on a Huntail that is out of actions and will soon fall asleep, so this combat is over. You can give the kill to Sari if you want, though she doesn't seem to mind letting Genesect strike the killing blow as long as she gets some food.
8XP.
(Then Arete will be a he, then! Terra might be stern with them for good reasons, but that doesn't mean he won't
try to build a geniune bond with them, and that can't be done if he's treating them too impersonally!)
Terra barely restrains the urge to grimace at seeing Arete palatableÂ
blood thirstiness against the toothy lizard and Huntail, instead maintaining a neutral/stoic expression as he walks over and pats them on the head.
"Well done, Arete. Your weapons are deadly like your......origin's. Thank you for your restraint."
He then turns his attention briefly to Sari, and finding that she seemingly is unconcerned whether she slays her meal or not, he turns back to his pintsized powerhouse, his face hardening as he pointed to both the eels and solemnly/gravely issued a command he
knew they would relish.
"
Arete, kill Huntail and Gorebyss. Leave the bodies intact as much you can."
Grim command grimly issued, the sagely monk then goes over to his rebellious scholar and pulls out a Potion, gesturing it at her.
"
Wish to heal your wounds, Sari, if you would permit me to do so. Can also.....prepare Huntail and Gorebyss into a more.....tasty and refined meal too, if you want."
Though her outright refusal to use Hidden Power seemingly out of pure stubbornness disappointed and annoyed him, she
had shown she was at least
willing to fight on his behalf, even if its was mostly for selfish reasons. Hopefully the offer of healing and making their meal even more delicious would warm her up to him just ever so slightly. If not.....well, he certainly has his work cut out for him, then...
As for Crocanaw,
they'll get a dose of Stun Spore (Courtesy of Michael)Â and a couple of Pokeball to catch them, or a Great Ball if they somehow break those two Pokeballs. If they break
that, Terra would just let Arete have its way with them, as if he can't capture such a beast to sell later, then he might as well do the local ecosystem some good by thinning down the predator population
and endear himself more to his little Legend while he was at it. He understands Pokemon Predation is a part of nature, but that doesn't mean he has to like it. All life was sacred to him, so killing even for substance discomforted him greatly, so Arete's almost
gleeful predisposition towards senseless, brutal slaughter of his enemies......yeah. Still, he could put that
nature of their's to good use, as nothing makes for a greater defender than one that is motivated to fight, has zero remorse for it's enemies, and nada conniptions in
dealing with them as
necessary. Let's just hope it
never backfires on him.....
(If Sari agrees to Terra's proposal, he'll try his best to make some quality sushi for her out of them, thinking such a cultural dish might appeal to her regal sensibilities. I'll leave the matter of whether or not to Roll for the dish's creation to you, Iron.)
