Ohhh that sounds interesting, curious, fascinating, and like a fine distraction to not dwell in self-loathe. Huh, Lavent. Shiva has never seen these Pokemon before until checking for them in her Almanac, she finds them somewhat scary... Interesting and unique, yet they somehow creep her out personally.
Can Shiva and Vaporeon wait for such a gas bubble to cause a firework of exploding sea water to obtain a bit of the ancient silt and 'materials' they bring up? Sounds semi-dangerous to do so, but she 1. got the Ancient Shield to protect herself and Vappy from being hurt by that explosion (aka, protecting from additional effects) and she doesn't leave out an opportunity like this to collect stuff for crafting or just keeping.

Alright, Step 1: excavating the fossil. Would it be possible to safely excavate the entire thing if Gallade were to (carefully) use ROCK SMASH and/or CUT to loosen the edges, and then Nathan use the finer tools to do the more delicate work?
Step 2: Transporting the fossil once it's free. Would it fit in a pokeball, or does that not work because it hasn't been revived yet? If not, would it be possible for Gallade to levitate it with Telekinesis so that it can be carried out safely?
Those are the two basic steps that need to be addressed, so let's see if we can retrieve this fossil and get a little closer to the end of this particular plotline. If anything else happens, it can be addressed then.
You do have the proper tools, so as long as you take the time (which is no problem in diceless mode), you will eventually get it out without damage.
A Pokeball won't work on it, as it's too large to count as an item and too dead to count as a Pokemon, but Telekinesis will be very easy in combination with the buoyancy of underwater work.
We can assume you get it safely back to land, at least.Â
As for Shiva and Heart's presence, this should all be happening while they are dealing with their own Scims - though they can always FLY here in an instant if you give them a call.

Yeah, that's perfectly fine! You would obtain some fine sand of unusual colors and textures, as well as tiny pieces of unidentifiable fossils. Most of these would be too small to revive, but if you wanted you could collect enough to get one fossil chosen totally at random at the time of revivification.
You also get some what I'll call "scent crystals." They are little pieces of mineral that are infused with gases and old organic matter - most smell unpleasantly of sulfur, but some are benzene gases which can smell in a variety of pleasant ways. Some might smell like oil, seaweed, or carry the scent of the ocean even on land. You could build candles, scented jewelry, bath bombs, scent bombs, stink bombs, Spritzee evo items, that kind of thing.

Excellent. First thing Nathan does once they've got the fossil on land is call Dagny. Gallade's standing guard, watching for any stray groups of Scimitars both with his eyes and his psychic senses. He's certain they would love to jump on an opportunity like this...
"Dagny, we've got the package. Haven't encountered any trouble yet. The sooner it's secured, though, the better. Need to discuss what to do with it and where to put it with you. Should we bring it to the gym for now, or do you have another spot in mind where we could meet?"

Nah, a bunch of tiny pieces of unidentifiable fossils is fine. If Shiva grinds it further, she'll have fossil sand! Goes nicely with the other sand of unusual colour and texture. Like, she has never seen such fine and beautiful
indigo and
pink sand before.
Ohhh, scent crystals! These sound like a very fitting find for a chara like her <3 Uh, but since they're benzene gases - are they safe to handle and keep at all? Since benzene is actually toxic/not very healthy.
If they are safe though, she happily packs away all those that smell pleasantly ("Aww, look at this Vappy, this piece smells like the ocean, so fresh and clean!") and throws the sulfur-ones back into the chasm.
Moving onwards.... To the other two spots that were potential new homes for Huge Cocancer! (
Described in this post)
Is there something of interest at the coral shelf and the taller and warm island?

"You can bring it to the gym now, if you like. Everyone is out. But that assumes you can get it past the entirety of Stair City's population, unseen."
The coral shelf is a living hive of Corsola and Corsoreef, all constantly rotating and moving and grinding like gears. Small fish Pokemon take shelter in there, but bigger living things are kept out by the dangerous spikes.
The taller island is, of course, volcanic in nature! This is a safer spot than Mt. Molten, since it's surrounded by water.

Hmmmm...here's a question:
could Gallade Teleport with the fossil? That would solve that issue, assuming Dagny has a large enough open space for such a massive find to suddenly appear out of thin air at.
I guess he could. He's very strong. He'd have to come back for Nathan, of course. In fact, it will take him multiple legs to reach Stair City with such a heavy object, but he can go to quiet locations scouted out ahead of time with FLY.
So yeah, you get the Genesect Fossil into the Gym, and the swarm of Magnemite bear it away to a vault for which only Dagny has the key.

Awesome. Well then, now's probably a good time for Nathan, Dagny, and Ventus to discuss recent events privately (and I guess it's sorta relevant to Terra, too, if he wants to join in on the conversation). Given Dagny's the only one around the gym right now, that presumably shouldn't be an issue since her office is also secure.
"
So, problem number 1: what do we do with that Genesect fossil? Lock it up for now, sure, but what about more long term? I'm sure the Water Scimitars still want to get their hands on it to make their dream super weapon pokemon, but I doubt they're the only group that would like access to that kind of power. Destroying it isn't really a good option in my opinion, for a few reasons. It can't stay here forever, though. And if we revived it...well, that causes a whole host of
other issues..."
