"Well, even if this isn't Darkrai's doing, it's something similar, at least. Â I can't really name any other pokemon capable of inflicting mass nightmares, though, to be perfectly honest...regardless, the similarity is enough that the solution should be similar too. Â You're familiar with Cresselia and her Lunar Wings, right? Â If we happen to find something similar to that, it should help the town significantly. Â I'm not saying we'll find it here, but...
"Wait, did you just say something was killing the fish in the aquarium?"
Ventus did a quick double take at Nathan response to him, looking taken aback, before he pulled himself together and responded. "Wait, you think a Darkrai is behind this town's recent woes? That's quite surprising for me to hear, given that its kind tends to shy away from densely populated regions, due to its Bad Dreams ability. From what little data has been record on the dark elemental, they have not been observed to be overly malicious or cruel without reason, despite what their appearance suggest. Because of this, I find the idea of it haunting Corsage baffling, unless the towns people did something to provoke its ire. Hmm..."
"As for Cresselia, I'm familiar with them and their power to soothe restless spirits and banish nightmares. Sightings of it are extremely rare, however, and usually confined to the Sinnoh region, so the chance of getting a Luner Wing is slim to none I'm afraid. Even with my connections, I don't think its possible for me to get a hold of one. As for alternative methods of restoring the good mood of this town...well, its possible that a Togekiss or Blissey might be able to bolster and amplify enough positive feelings to drive away the negativity that clings to this town. A user of Misty Field could also be used as a well to 'bless'Â Corsage as well, though I'm not sure how effective that will be on this scale. That's all I can think of at the moment, however; given some time, I might be able to brainstorm a few more ideas..."
Taking a few deep breath after his long winded speal, he noticed Nathan surprised expression, before remembering what else they had to say. "Oh! Well, something has been attacking and making a meal of some of the Pokémon there, and the owners were looking for someone to solve their crisis. Naturally, I agreed to help, so tonight I, along with Ariel and Lucifer, will stake out the place and just see what is responsible for such gosh actions."
"Hmmm...let me join you tonight, then. That sounds like risky business, and two heads are better than one. Besides...if Darkrai or something similar is around here, I'm not sure I want to try sleeping again tonight..."
He shudders, and Kirlia mimics it. It doesn't take him long to get back on track, though.
"Oh, and concerning Cresselia, I've heard some have actually spotted it in Unova. Again, around Lentimas. And where Cresselia is, many theorize Darkrai isn't far away. I'd also like to mention that Unova is fairly populated, as is Sinnoh, and most Darkrai 'sightings' in Sinnoh are reported in Canalave, which is a fairly big port town, much like Corsage here. Some professors theorize that it can have a presence over a large distance as well, which might explain all the nightmares everyone connects to it and the lack of proven sightings.
"But yeah, I just want to keep all that in mind for now, not necessarily attempt a fool's errand. We don't have the luxury of looking for an uncertain solution to an uncertain problem, right now. It could just be something similar in nature, or even something completely unrelated...still, something like a Lunar Wing would be useful...again, I'm not sure if it's the exact same thing as the contrast between Cresselia and Darkrai...but it's the best theory I've got considering the sheer scale of this whole thing...you can feel the despair along the entire length of Murkrow Cove, even..."
"I'll be happy to have your assitence in this endevour, Nathan! If you are going to try and stay awake with me tonight, I can teach you how to meditate. Its not as good as true rest, but it keeps your mind sharp enough to stave off the effect of sleep deprivation. You'll still feel Zekrom awful in the morning, but you don't need to sleep at all. They'll be plenty of coffee on the job as well, so there is also that for a anti-sleeping aide," Ventus replied, looking worriedly at his young friend. While he's used to such levels of despair, the boy and Kirlia don't seem to be handling it all to well. If things get worse, he might just set up camp outside of town, and just may day trip to Corsage.
"Ah yes, thank you for reminding me about the Cresselia's relationship with Darkrai! They are quite closely intertwined, now that I think about it. Perhaps the dark elemental follow the dream watcher in an attempt to quell its own power? With this knowledge, however, its even less likely that Darkrai is in Corsage, as the Lunar Legend usually does not stick around in a location for more than a few days at a time, if that. If Cresselia was in the area, they would be long gone by now, along with the living nightmare trailing after them. As for Darkai's sphere of influence, I recall they usually try to limit the area of it, unless something provokes it to do otherwise. So unless the town has done something to both draw the attention of both legendaries AND managed to invoke their wrath, I doubt either are involved. If that is the case, however, I believe I would rather get out of town than to stick around..."
When he heard and faintly felt Nathan's desire to rescue the town, the researcher couldn't help the sigh that left him. "Nathan, while I would normally be eager to assist in matters such as this, we both have higher priorities right now. I have multiple jobs and my legal fines to settle, and the both of us have a Gym Challenge in the future. Since neither of us has much insight as to what caused this town to become a den of despair, I believe its for the best if we conclude our business in town, and beat a hasty retreat. Better to solve the problems we can, rather than chase down solutions to ones that we have no true grasp on. Even if we did, the source of this town's despair is either an Legendary Pokémon or some powerful nebulous force that has some form of control in Corsage, and I have no desire to stand up against threats of that magnitude."
"I mean, that's kinda what I just said...let's just keep potential solutions in mind for now, alright? And, uh...this has apparently been going on for 2 or 3 weeks...yeah, I did a little info gathering...the gloominess is typical, apparently, but the despair? Recent, apparently. And I know that Cresselia is typically a roamer, but...well, the rumors of it appearing in Unova are both recent and decades old. Apparently around the Marvelous Bridge too, and that's definitely recent. Some trainers even said they saw the ghost of a young girl on that bridge...and some others claim to have seen the same one at the house at the base of Reversal Mountain...and as for the older sightings of the Lunar pokemon...well, they were all pretty much around Lentimas. I think there's just enough evidence there for Cresselia to have made an extended stay in that area for some reason. Likely something to do with that ghost...it's odd, because it's not a connection I had noticed before now. It took a few hours of reading my notes before I managed to piece that all together. Anyways..."
That offer to help with the meditation is actually EXACTLY what Nathan had wanted to hear. If anyone needed to achieve a Calm Mind right now, it was him and Kirlia...
"Any help with meditation would be appreciated. I'm not usually too into it, but...Kirlia's having some trouble with progressing towards learning Calm Mind. And to be honest, we could both use the practice...I don't drink coffee, though. Never liked the stuff. I don't know how anyone drinks stuff that foul every day...though I can't complain about the smell...
"Speaking of which, you do know you smell like coffee, right?"

Ventus nodded at Nathan's statement, more or less content that they were on agreement on the matter of the town. 'Help and assist if you are able, but otherwise tend to your own affairs. Not the kindest code to follow, but its better than blind altruism in any case,' he though, frowning slightly at his own thought process. If he was thinking this bittersweetly, perhaps he need a distraction to take his mind off the funk of the town.
Nathan eager acceptance of his was certainly appreciated, then, and it brought a kind smile to his face as well. "Oh, you and Kirlia are trying to learn Calm Mind now? Well, as I said for teaching Psychic Pokémon moves what seems to be ages ago, its ideal for the trainer of said Pokémon to be able to convey the 'feel' of said move. If I teach you proper meditation technique, you can use it to hone your own mind and directly pass the experience on to Kirlia. It would be even more effective if you could link minds with him, but that might be a bit beyond the two of you at the moment. If you wish to start now practicing now, I can certainly do so. I was planning on heading to the Court House today, but I still have several days to pay off my debt!"
"As for me smelling like that heavenly dark brew, I've been out looking for bottled coffee all day, to no avail. I've been through several stalls of dry coffee beans, but none of the business had the drink in stock, so that venture did not pay off. If you hate the bitter taste of coffee, I know how to alleviate such a problem. Long, long ago, I used to work as a Coffee shop barista, so I do know how to make a excellent cup of joe that appeals to everyone!"

"It's fine. Â We'll do it later, when we've got the time to kill because we're just waiting around. Â You go do your thing, and I'll go do some prep for tonight. Â Maybe I can get Porygon to help with monitoring whatever security system they have in place...Staryu would probably be more than willing to help, as well..."
Nathan's not really persuaded by the promise of less bitter coffee, though. Â
"Look, I appreciate the offer, but I'm just not a coffee person. Â I'll just have some other caffeinated drink or some warm milk if I need to avoid dozing off."
Ventus shrugs his shoulders at Nathan's dismissal of his coffee offer. If he doesn't like the beverage, then he'll have to do without his fabulous coffee concoctions! "Those are excellent idea, Nathan! My employer said that the killer has somehow avoided tripping the security system thus far, but with a Porygon manning it, its far less likely that our mysterious slayer will stay that way for long. Having another Pokémon guard the fish tanks would also be excellent as well! I'll see you tonight, then!"
With that said, the researcher parted ways with his friend, now intent on finishing his dreadful business with the Ranger Union of this region, and getting on to other matters entirely, such as safeguarding the aquarium and training his team for their upcoming gym battle!
Order: Go to Court and pay of debt, then go off to the Aquarium and wait on Nathan to come assist Ven in his choosen task. Two trainers are better than one, right? I hope so, anyway...
Nathan heads over to the Center to fetch Porygon, exchanging Zippy for the duck after assuring him that he'd get him back out before the day was done. And now, for some training!
Nathan gets back to work with Grid, working towards Electroweb still. Porygon gets to learn and practice a new move: Agility (for only a mere 12 exp! Now I need to look into leveling Survival and Athletics though....hmmm...)! And Princess gets to practice her maneuverability, finding opportune moments to strike. Nathan holds off on the Calm Mind practice for now, seeing as he wants to get Ven's assistance with it later.
Training session for Porygon, Grid, and Princess. After this, it's off to the aquarium for the vigilante work! Gonna have to get it approved by the staff first, though...
It is quite clear that Spearow wishes to train very hard and emulate its hero, Farfetch'd. He looks excited when you mention getting a Stick back.
Shiva thinks that her fighting style isn't a very good fit for Spearow's. Valder's might indeed fit, though, with his high Strength. It may be possible to convince Spearow to accompany Shiva, but he would be reluctant.

"Haha... It's as expected, right? You DO wish to train harder." Indeed, that curious look the bird gave her at mentioning Sticks, followed by a relucant gesture at the thought of joining with
her said everything. Not blaming, though. Shiva knew very well she wasn't the best choice to match Spearow's wishes. Nathan had a full team already... Ventus will definitely NOT accept Spearow as his Pokemon... Sage was nowhere areound, and she knows him too little to entrust this bird to him... That leaves Valder. Now to think about it... She felt like he could be a good Master for this furious bird. Not very talkactive, a man of actions instead of words, and strong when it comes to that.
However, Shiva had no idea where he currently was... But if we'd find Ventus somewhere, he might know. But before that... "So, Spearow, you agree to travel in a temporary ball until I found someone who I think might be a good Master for you? I think he'd be rejoiced to take care of you and provide a real Pokeball to you."
