Despite his sleuthing, Kirlia still manage to detect their presence, but instead of alerting his master to his presence, they just give a coy smile to him. 'Oh, you desire for me to put a little Joltick in his step, Kirlia? Well, if you insist...' Ventus thought to him, and Meowth like smile adorning his face as he positioned himself right behind the young trainer. Then, with an single adept motion, snaked his left arm around Nathan's neck and pressed himself to his body in an buddy-buddy hug.
"Don't you know its impolite leave your friends without giving some notice?" Ventus said, softly speaking into the boy's ear's. 3, 2, 1...
"Hurk!"
His hands shoot to the arm suddenly around his neck! That is NOT something he was expecting to happen!
The words that were spoken don't help either since he wasn't focusing on what was said, and he struggles to get himself out of this hug he's now in!
While struggling, his gaze happens to pass over Kirlia.
Who's chuckling.
Huh?
Nathan stops struggling for a moment, looks around.
Why's everyone staring and doing nothing?
He looks behind him.
And then he finally notices Shiva and Ventus.
He's rather quick to get out of that grip, suffice to say.
"What was that for?! You scared me half to death with that! Kirlia, why didn't you warn me?!"
More chuckling from the dancer.
Seeing the pouty and startled face of Nathan, he could not help it: Ventus let out a peal of laughter, chuckling at the shock he sent through the young boy's system at their expense. Soon, the researcher's mirth filled laughs petered out, and brought the very same hand that put the trainer in a Bewear hug to wipe the tears from his eyes. "Ohohohoho....that was for abandoning the group with nary a word or warning, and giving us pause for concern! You should know better than to do that, especially when Corsage is in its current state. Besides, when I saw that bittersweat smile on your face...well, I couldn't resist into changing it into a less sad expression! I'm sorry for my the fright I given you, but it goes to show that you should pay attension to your surrounding more! Kirlia can't always be there to act as your early warning sysem, Nathan."
Nathan's not particularly amused. "Look, I just figured it'd be nice to have some time to think, that's all. No need to worry about me that much. You know I can handle myself.
"Besides, the last thing I expected to happen was getting ambushed in an incredibly public location with a lot of people watching."
Still, maybe Ven was right...maybe he did have to start relying less on Kirlia for monitoring his surroundings...if that had been anyone besides Ven...well, Kirlia would have warned him, for starters...

Chuckling yet again at their dour expression, Ventus just gave them a soft, apologetic smile. "Yes, I know, but I couldn't stand to see your normally resolute visage be marred like that. In my experience, if you ponder too deeply on the past, you'll find yourself lost and end up places you wish you never revisted. I'm a natural worrywart, so I thought to rescue from that fate, but it seems I jumped the gun, as it well, so please forgive my overbearingness. Though, you have to admit that I got you good, eh?" he said, cocking an eyebrow at them. If they didn't had Kirlia out with them, they wouldn't even had a ghost of a chance to detect them, before it was too late!
"As for the spectacle itself, the crowd attention has already waned, and the people around us have gone back to exploring the aquarium. If their is an lesson to be learned, today, its this: Always be aware of your surrounding. Even if you think a location is safe, it pays to be alert and caution more often that not. But enough of me harping on that! Shiva and I have been searching for you to inform you that we are leaving the aquarium now to go over and train at the Water Dojo. Ariel could use practice aiming her Bubbles, and Michael and Lucifer might benefit from working out in an moist training environment! You are welcome to join us, if you wish! If you decide not to, I'll let you know when I finish working out my Pokémon so that we can meet up and leave town together."
He sighs. Well, that's not how he'd expected this little trip to end...not much to do about it now, though.
"Yeah, I'll join ya at the dojo. Staryu could use some practice for learning Bubblebeam if it's still set up for water pokemon. Still gotta work on getting Grid to learn Electroweb. And Kirlia is fairly close to Calm Mind, I feel. Just needs a bit more of a push, probably."
He'd really enjoyed that time spent in the Aquarium today and last night. There was something...peaceful about it. Like the gloom of the town wasn't as prevalent there. Kinda like the dojo. And the Center. Of course, neither the Center nor the Aquarium had done him any good as far as sleeping went...but as far as keeping away that feeling of dread during the day went, they seemed like spectacular locations.
Clasping his hands together, he grinned at Nathan decision to join Shiva and him, delighted that not by his choice, but also the fact that he seemed to forgive him for his antic for the most part. 'I don't foresee me jump scaring him like for now on, yet circumstance might present another opportunity in the future. Whether or not I act, however...well, I'll reserve the right to act at my own discretion' Ventus though, a slight smirk on his face, before he sharply nodded his head.
"Its settled: off to the Dojo we go, to train our Water Pokémon how to truly tap into their elemental power!" the researcher said, leading everyone out of the aquarium, and straight to the Martial Artist place of work. Hopefully, everyone will have a productive experience!
Order: Lucifer, Ariel, and Michael will be training at the dojo, while Ventus watch them and points out flaws in their technique. After the Training Session is done, Ven will take Shiva off to a private spot in the dojo to discuss his plan to camp out in Fireweed for a few days, and offer her the chance to join. Hopefully, she'll accept, but if not *Shrugs* I'm not her keeper!
Kirlia is pretty pleased with how that went. Since evolving from an innocent Ralts, he has sacrificed some of his ability to connect with others in return for a much-increased connection with his trainer's feelings. Nathan's well-being is of increased priority to him now. But he also understands how complex Nathan's mental state can be, and thought allowing this ambush a good risk. It seems Kirlia thinks Nathan's well-being is improved by being around his friends.
Everyone goes to the dojo!
Ronin Spearow delights in this place more than anyone. He finds a training staff and breaks it in two, much to the surprise of the Sensei. He uses each spar as a makeshift stick, preferring these to his knife.
However, he also seems interested in the blades in the dojo, despite not really being able to use them (no thumbs!)
Sensei takes a liking to the bird and lets him use whatever equipment he desires.
All aforementioned Pokemon gain 1XP.
Azurill trains with a determined look on her face. It's really working.
Grid has unexpected success with his attack, since this dojo is very conductive. And Michael wants to be a fighter more than anything, so Sensei is a bit of a hero to him. These three Pokemon get training rolls! They'll be Str + Fight + Canalize for all.
Azurill: (4)(6)(4)(4)(5) Wow! What a training roll. Azurill is the envy of all the other trainers as she sinks shot after shot. 5 bonus xp!
Grid: (1)(5)(3)(6)(4)(2) 3 bonus XP, still very good.
Michael: (4)(4)(6)(1)(6)(3) Inspiring! 5 bonus XP.
You three trainers get 1XP for coaching such a streak of talent.
The Dojo: Battle Arena - Pokemon Emerald
Wow, that went WAY better than any of the three trainers had expected. While Grid's performance wasn't quite as impressive as Azu's or Michael's, Nathan's still pretty glad to see good progress is being made on Electroweb. The little bug was still new to the world of trainers, after all, so seeing him put in so much effort and getting the best results he can was all Nathan wanted to see from him.
In fact, after that and the aquarium, plus the awesome battle yesterday, he was feeling pretty pumped up again. Seeing how much energy the pokemon had today, in fact, he wondered if they perhaps wanted to have a friendly battle...training is all well and good, but practical experience has no replacement, after all.
Let's see...he'd already battled Ventus, but it would obviously be a tougher battle this time since they'd both been improving since Ginger Town...he was also sort of interested in seeing what Shiva might be capable of...he knows she's not much of a battler, of course, but he could always hold back a little to make things more even if need be...
It was mostly just a thought for now, but Nathan is very clearly fired up again.
When Ventus enter the dojo, he at first believed that Ariel would gain the most benefit out of it, given the affinity she shared with the theme, regimes, and layout of the place. However, it was Michael that proved to be the star of his line up, as he utterly decimated the training dummy it had been given to practice its Strikes and Knock Down maneuvers! The sheer force of will and the complete focus he had allowed him to pull of such an unexpected feat!
He may not have used any of the latent potential within himself yet, but does not mean that he was weaker than his fellow brothers and sisters! He may just be a Shroomish, but he's able to tackle Ice and Poison types alike and hold his ground, weather blow after and restore himself to full, and will take on any opponent without ever backing down! One day, all his training and growth will come to fruition when he evolves into a mighty Breloom, unleashing his true fight spirit unto the world! Orrrraaaaaaah!
Sweat dropping at the great macho spirit that Michael is exherting at full force to his crowd of onlookers, the reasercher just shook his head and smiled at his antic. 'Honestly, if his ego swell to any larger a size, I swear he'll burst and start releasing it like spores in his local vicinity. Perhaps I need him to fight one of Nathan's Pokémon 1 V 1 as a way to deflate it some, since that did the trick the last time it started to become a problem. For now, I'll let him enjoy his accomplishment, but in the future he will need to learn that while all martial artist have massive amoutns of strength, its their technique and discipline that make certain individuals the masters that they are,' he though, before he turned towards Shiva.
By the looks of it, she was praising her Azuril for such phenomenal effort they put into training! Waiting for a moment for her to finish working with her Pokémon, he walked right up to her, and tapped her on the shoulder to catch her attention. "Shiva...there is something I wish to discuss with you, preferably in a more private setting. The subject is of great sensitivity for me, so I would rather have the seclusion to express my thought more freely without anyone else overhearing what we are conversing about, and judging us poorly."
Order: Let my Pokémon wind down from their training however they like while setting up a private discussion about Ventus' camping plans, and why he's doing it in the first place. You said you desired privacy for this meeting, so here is your chance for it!
