Kirlia gets a training roll. Since the dancer is trying hard to improve Nathan's mood, I'll use the Allure roll of an attacking move. Psychic is also involved.
3 Dex + 3 Fight +1 Allure +1 Pearl
(6)(2)(6)(4)(5)(1)(4)(4) Kirlia gains 5 bonus XP.
Wobbuffet Encounter, Round 1 (?)
Immediately at the sight of an unfamilar Pokemon, Braixen plucked that basswood stick from his bushy tail and stepped forward, awaiting orders.
However, Shiva was more concerned about this particular Wobbuffet. It didn't seem agressive at all... In fact, it didn't looked to her like it was up for a battle. More like...
oh well.
She also regognized this Wobbuffet as a younger exemplar that must have hatched as a Wobbuffet directly instead of a Wynaut, she remembered how her father once breed a bunch of Wobbuffets for a customer. They were just as small in size compared to a regular adult Wobbuffet. What was unsual was that expression it had on its face...quite somber. Contrary to her initial believe/fear, this Wobbuffet wasn't up to steal eggs or harm the nesting bird Pokemon in any way. It seemed...to search for something... Shiva was actually quite sure what likely has happened. Trainers... It all triggered some feelings of protectiveness deep inside her...
She had to force herself to look away from the Wobbuffet and concentrade on the current situation. Seeing that Braixen was awaiting her orders... "So be it then, dear Braixen... Show us your chanting, followed by a howl. We could use some good fortune here, in either case. Also, please don't attack that Wobbuffet now. Keep it from coming too near to us, but also prevent if from fleeing."
Orders for this Round: No attacking for now. Before it may come to attacking, see what Ventus does; if he opens fire, I'll join on that, but the initiative to attack must come from him. If Lucky Chant fails in this Round, continue until is suceeds.
Secondary Effect: Hope Wobuffet is not too intimidated by the the howling...
Accuracy Roll Lucky Chant: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 1 Perform - 2 Actions = 4D6
Effect: No reduced sucesseses by rolling two (1)'s in all my and Ventus' Rolls during this Encounter, foe doesn't get +2 dice in Damage Roll if he rolls a crit. Good things happen to Storyteller's decription.
Accuracy Roll Howl: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 0 Intimidate - 3 Actions = 2 D6
Effect: Raises Strength by 1.

Normally, Ventus needs some kind of sign - anything, really - before his intuition can pick up on the presence of a Pokemon or an emotion. A rustle of plants, a hint of body language, a sound that isn't quite normal. Usually he isn't even sure what it is he picked up on (or he may believe he didn't pick up on anything!) because his subconscious mind does all the work. But this time he is more sure than usual that he didn't actually spot the Pokemon or anything to betray its presence. Something actually drew him to its location.
Soon Shiva can see it too - the wayward Wobbuffet, ambling in a zigzag pattern to wherever it thinks a Pokemon nest might be. The upper part of its body sways comically and its simple face is twisted into a scowl. It's a younger Wobbuffet, not fully developed. Probably didn't have the benefit of maturing as a Wynaut; instead it must have hatched as a Wobbuffet.
The Wobbuffet reaches a Pidgey nest on the ground. Two Pidgeotto poke their heads out before Wobbuffet even arrives. They shake their heads at him, and he wobbles on.
Shiva and Ventus both get the distinct, sharp impression that Wobbuffet seeks help. A very very brief, fuzzy image of two mature Wobbuffet disappearing in a flash of Pokeball light appears in their heads.
Ventus' Initiative: (4) + lots
Shiva's initiative: (4) + some
Wobbuffet's Initiative: (1) + 1 Dex + 0 Survival
The smile on Ventus' face vanished as he got the telepathatic message that Wobbuffet was broadcasting, intentionally or not. He instantly grew disquieted, and a certain air surrounded him that told everyone that not all was right with the normally jovial researcher. Seeing the fire fox ready to set up for an offensive assault, he quietly out a hand to Braixen, telling the not so subtly to 'Stop' , and closed his eyes and tried to get a feel on the blue psychic. 'Helplessness, loneliness, uncertainty....and the strong urge to beÂ
reunited with someone. Or someone
s , if that psychic vision is being sent out by them. Its very rare that the species exercise their latent mental abilities, rather than perfectly counter someone with either Mirror Coat or Counter. Something is wrong. Something is very wrong,' the empath thought to himself, a worried and serious expression plastered in place of his usual gentle grin
A few minutes later, the researcher came up with a plan of action, and did something that, in any other situation and with any almost other Pokémon, would be a terrible idea: he slowly approached the Wobbuffet, making his presence know to it both psychically and mentally, before they stopped a meter or two away from them, and simply asked: "Little one, what is the matter? Are you looking for your parents, or perhaps seeking a new nest to call home. You can tell me, I won't doing anything you don't want me to do. I'm here to help, Wobbuffet."
Order: Try to get Shiva Braixen to hold off on blattently setting up on the blue demon and startling it/putting it on the defensive, and have Ventus attempt to figure out rather personally what the heck is wrong with them. He is not one to ignore a cry for help, no matter the type of message or source, and he has a more than excellent idea to what happened....
Wobbuffet struggles to use its psychic abilities in ways they were not intended to be used. He works hard and sends a shifted perspective of the first scene: his own position hidden in a cave, behind some bushes, watching as the other Wobbuffet are slurped away into Pokeballs.
The details are very fuzzy and you can't see who the trainers are. Don't appear to be Scimitars, though.
Valder walks with Theo at his side when they notice a strong rustling nearby. coming closer, it appears to be an exeggcute.
"Theo! Don't you have just the perfect move for that? I want to see you use your full power Fury Cutter!"
Order: Use Fury Cutter until that eggcellent yolk faints.
 Fury Cutter: hits 2-5 times. -1acc. Bug-type.
1 + 3 + 0 + 2se =6dmg, right?
3 +Â 2 + 0 - 1 =4acc
Seeing that Ventus understood the situation very well - well, not that she expected him not to, given his field of research, backstory and skill in handling Pokemon - Shiva stepped beside her magical fox and gently put half of her hand on the enlighted stick of Braixen, before slowly lowering it. And giving him a glance that expressed calmness as well as a desire to hold back and watch instead.
"Braixen... No. No attacking this young Wobbuffet. Please just stay here by my side and watch how Ven handles the young opponent, alright? Just take a look at it, I don't think it will harm us at all."
Can I just use Lucky Chant instead of Chant and Howl? Maybe it will soothe the young Wobbuffet. Shiva is leaving direct interacting with Wobbuffet to Ven for now, but is immediately there if needed.
Accuracy Roll: 3 Dext + 2 Fight + 1 Perform = 6 D6
Effect: No Rolls it might affect, but good things still happen at Storyteller's description.

If the earlier reading and vision didn't tip him off to the truth of the incident, then this message certainly did: his parents where captured by a couple of trainers, and they ended up an orphan due to being unnoticed in their hiding spot. Sorrow crept into Ventus expression, as he croached down to look them in the eyes and tried to gently break the news to them. "Little one, your parents...they are no longer in the area. Some trainers have captured them into Pokeballs, and most likely have long ago departed from this route. This must be hard for you to accept, but what I am saying is true. Search my heart and emotions; they can't lie to you," Ventus said, offering a hand out for them to grasp. Telepathic powers are often ampfied by physical contact, ironically, so this gesture should allow them to more clearly communicate with them....and understand how much they empathize with their situation.
