At his puns, Shiva only gave him the same unamused expression and raised eyebrows she already gave Heart earlier for his jokes, but it nevertheless had a nice efeect on distracting her and bringing her mind to other things. "You too are starting with these puns? Oh well... Well, to each their own I guess?"
Though, his compliment surely warmed her. Did dhe indeed said 'tough'? Changing the smile to a somewhat thankful yet coy one, "Now, how cute by you. I'm glad that I met you as well... Uhm... Well, anyway, let's get going with Tutoring shall we?" She still wasn't used to being appreictaed that much, and even less on someone actually speaking it out - but that doesn't diminish at all that the silent delight she responded with.
(That's where the timeline connects, finally.)
"Log jam?  Me? Last I checked, I wasn't the one freezing the river solid during the battle...nor the one who issued the challenge in the end...bah, whatever.  Kirlia, Teleport us back to the Center so we can get healed up in time for our next battle, please. We're gonna need it..."
So Monferno is up to full health after a Potion. Phantump's berry last turn also brought it to full health.
Money Maker Round 3
"Meowstic, everything you've got has to go into this one Psybeam. Make the money, now!"
Psybeam
(3)(6)(6) It hits! The Money Maker cheers.
(2)(2)(4) Monferno takes 2 dmg 5/7hp, -1 pain.
"Why change a winning formula? That's what I always say! Persian, your finest Dark attack."
Bite
(1)(1)(3)(4) Monferno grabs Persian by the tail as she goes by. She turns to hiss at him, missing her chance to attack!
Viktor seizes this chance to appear behind Meowstic, who is behind Monferno, who is behind Persian! He chuckles and swings.
Good job on the dice math, by the way.
Feint Attack[b]
(5)(3)(4)(6)
(2)(1)(4) [b]Meowstic faints!
"Kitty, nooo!"
Close Combat
4 dice, -1 pain
(4)(1)(6)
(6)(1)(1)(5)(3)(3)(3)(5) Monferno gets right in under Persian and heaves the big cat over. When she falls, she doesn't get back up again.
"Ohhhh, alright. Here's your money. At least I made you waste a Potion."
Heart, Monferno, and Phantump each gain 3XP.

Helios and Kyuu, however, are pure psychic types, and it's healthy for them to occasionally be exposed to a different bond. And Ventus' mind couldn't be more different from Shiva's.
Kyuu likes Ventus for his part in removing the Delta Houndour threat.
After he finished trying to charm Shiva out of her previously bad and now positively sunny mood (and chuckling a bit at the stare she gave him for his
punderful jokes), Ventus went off to conduct to refine her Psychic Pokémon meditation technique to...mixed result. Helios and Kyu seemed to greatly benefit from honing their minds and slightly linking with his own, though he hoped that its...messiness didn't frighten them any. That was a reason he didn't train Psychic Pokémon himself until recently, as he was afraid his mentality would potentially lead to ruinous developments in the sensitive's Type's mind/soul , and leave them as unhinged as he is, but thankfully Abaddon proved that assumption wrong. 'Of course, his own Psychic powers could be so minimal as not to be adversely affect by my...warped mind, but I rather not give myself reason to dread this anymore than I already amply provided over the years...'
Braixen, though....they clearly were holding a
hellish amount of hatred and malicious intent within themselves, and from what his empathetic senses could tell him, it was all directed and focused squarely on...
him. Once that realization crossed his mind, Hanael's Pokeball was already in his hand with barely a flick of his wrist, and Ventus instantly regarded the mystical fire fox with a dangerously impassive face that belayed nothing but extreme reservation. "Shiva," he said, his tone of voice flat, sharp, and laded with a sense of wariness, "I strongly suggest that you recall Braixen this instant. It appears that they now
vividly despise me, for whatever reason, and I rather not get into any quarrels with them, least of all ones that would end
poorly for the fire fox," he finished, the last part of his statement aimed dead on at the Fire type. While his flames were fierce and powerful, Ventus had at least 3 Pokémon that could quickly put him down if they tried anything, and Hanael could literally burry them alive if need be. Let it not come to that...
Bringing back Raphale to his his respectful owner after the Tutoring was more than fruitful, the first thing Shiva noticed was that Kyuu was certainly doing good. The psychic kitten even let out an appreciating chirp when being asked by his owner when she asked whether he enjoyed the mental training led by the researcher, before he got withdrawn.
Helios was still rather quiet, but this only showed that Ventus did not distress him at all, which calmed Shiva greatly. He alos got withdrawn.
Though, when she turned towards her magical fox... The image the fox was giving her was almost frightening. He didn't seemed calm at all, he had his ears lowered, he glanced at Ventus somewhat malicious and...oh my, was that noral that he already had his basswood stick enlighted like he'd jump into a heated battle in a moment? Shiva could not help but to feel both suprised and somewhat terrified by seeing him in such a state, and threw a very concerned look over to Ven... What... What has happened here? What...did he do? Things were fine the last time... How comes they're so different now?!
When Shiva came closer to her fox and croached down to him, he did notice that and made eye contact with her, but kept his head in direction to the researcher. Worst part was when she tried to gently touch-stroke her fox on the cheek like she often did, he evaded that and looked away, causing Shiva to almost...fall back into the gloom she had before the Tutoring/Training. "Braixen... How...?" Then Ven's words came in, harsh and almost cold, and she faced him now with her inner filled with sadness and pain.
Then it came to her. Something must have happened. Fox despises him? He wouldn't do do without a reason. Was he still mad at Ventus due to him hunting near the precious den, where the friendship beween fox and Fairy-Enthusiast started? Possible. Nope, very likely. Was it because the fox is just too magical for Ven's taste, and he somewhat senses that Ven has a hate for magic, which he takes as hate towards him? Certainly. He wasn't even a Delphox yet... And, worse, was fox disappointed because his Master should know, but instead just trusted the researcher's words he accepted his and Shiva's witchy aspects and relationship? Check. Neat... Showing his Pokeball to the fox, "Braixen... I'm deeply sorry for this. I should have known, right? But, foolish me trusted more in Ven's words... Please listen now, okay?" Fox was still looking away, causing Shiva to both increase her voice and putting seriousness and importance in her voice. "I said LISTEN. You will NEVER EVER be exposed to this person" *pointing to Ven now, let's hope he doesn't mind* "anymore. I'll make sure that when you are outside your ball, you aren't forced to endure his pressence. Alright? Gym Battles may be an exception, but in that case he'll only be in the audience because of me. I am your Master, you are my familiar, so you mean more to me than he words of his that he accepted your magical aspects. It's fine if he does mine, but that doesn't automatically include yours. We will both savour our magic, but we'll do so without any obstacles in our way, and if this person is an obstacle for you... Then I won't force you be near to it. Alright? Please keep this in mind, my dear fox, same with...that...that I love you, okay? Don't just...hate me for being blinded, okay?"
Fox carefully listened to Shiva's delight, and responded to her in an appreciating chirp after starring at her for a little. All she had to respond to him was a silent "Thanks you. Now, enjoy your rest, you surely deserve it." before he got withdrawn.
Next, she faced Ven in an expression that silently seemed to say 'You understand, right?', before "Now... Sorr for this, I should have known. Can we...just get beack to the Center then, please?"

Ventus immediately relaxed the moment Braixen was recalled, and let out a sigh of relief as he replaced Hanael's Pokeball....wherever he place it to begin with. He no reason to be irate with his dear friend over her speech to the fox, as he understood that its purpose was to placate him and prevent a fight between them and himself (Which would have been bad...for him), and his empathy told him that Shiva didn't think ill of him as her words implied her to be. That, and the fact that he seldom had or wanted a reason to be furious at her in the first place, and this little incident with her Fire type, while somewhat harrowing and definitely unpleasant, did not warrant any further investigation from him. So long as she kept Braixen under control and a non-liablitiy to his and his own Pokémon's safety, then he would not interfere.
" It was just as unexpected of an outcome to me as for you, Shiva, and thankfully neither of us caused each other harm while you were tutoring my child, so there is no need for apologies. Just...be careful with them. A Fire type's wrath is just as scorching as a Dragon's, and is arguably even more severe, considering they can Burn you in a variety of horrible and deadly ways, and a angry magician is an adversary that a person seldom wants to face in battle, much less work with. *Sigh* Yes, let's make haste to the Pokémon Center. You can teleport their with Helios , while I can hitch a ride with Raphael and have them use Extreme Speed to quickly cover ground."
With that said, both the researcher and Shiva made their way to the Pokémon Center (Whether it be separately or together), and eventually found Nathan around <Insert Location Here>, and greeted him with a smile. "Nathan, I trust that your meeting with the pup went splendidly and smoothly? My own business at the Daycare went well, as Ariel now has a more or less permenant place among their stock, and I can keep any and all eggs she can produce. As for the battle you prosposed earlier, have you finalized the terms and condition for it, or do you need some aid from me and Shiva to help solidfy anything loose details?"

"Good job you two! Woosh. I think we should return to the pokemon center. Lets heal you Rose. It uniportant to every time be ready to anything." Rose lets a happy shout saying she is alright after that Potion. "Thats remind me. We should go to the shop buy some items before we should continue. Man, I should gamble 800 pokedollars. Welp, living and learning I guess."
Then Heart go to a quick step to the shop to buy some items. He two potions and one Super Potion.
(Total: 1100)
After get his Pokemon a heal in the pokemon center he decides to find at least one more battle before he finish the job. Perhaps he should find a temporaly job in the city to receive some money.
(I can find another person to battle Iroh? Just get a little more money since I just have 600 by now. Perhaps a single battle to get something around 700 pokedollar? Just to not have money.)
The only words for Ventus were "Thank you. I'll let his fire burn as much as he likes, but I'll take care that you, Ven, won't get burned by them.", before she waved him goodbye as he left there with Raphalel. Saying farewell to the Daycare owners as well and hoping - no, promising - that they'll see one another again, Shiva rather quickly arrived at the Center, and the first thing she did before taking a seat at the table Nathan already resided was getting herself a herbal tea made of lavender and valearin, just like yesterday, in a mean to calm herself a little from what just happened.
Oh right, Nathan already asked for a battle when they returned from the Daycare... Well, she's still open for that, although it's still not the best thing in her view to clear things. Though, if it'd help Nathan, so be it then.
As soon as Shiva and Ventus walk in the door to the Center's lobby, Kirlia can tell something's up.  He was analyzing the two trainers and keeping Nathan informed per his instruction.  He could sense a slight tension between the two of them among the large variety of other emotions they were feeling...nothing that might disrupt Nathan's plan, but it would need to be addressed later...
Nathan's got a neutral expression on his face, and isn't feeling much of anything again.  Except it's by choice this time as much as necessity.  His reply is straight and to the point. "4 pokemon per side, no items, no fainting, and no Lucky Chant for either side.  I want to see how well we all perform on our own merits even if we aren't going all out."
What he's not saying is he needs to see how well Shiva and Ventus work together. He won't get the desired result if he does, though...their actions need to be voluntary, not forced...
Ventus held his chin with a hand as he thought over the condition of the fight that Nathan laid out, and found them to be entirely agreeable to him, though he raised an eyebrow at Lucky Chant from being excluded in particular. "Any particularly reason Lucky Chant use is being excluded in this fight? From what I know of the move, it's fairly innocuous and extremely beneficial to the user and his Pokémon, so I don't see why you are reluctant to use it. I don't have a problem with it being used or not used, but I find this most curious..."
The researcher also had some conditions of his own to add, namely: "Hmm...I find all these condition reasonable, but I would like to add a couple of my own, to make things more fair for the both of us. To start, if you are planning to use Callam in this fight, I would ask that you refrain from letting him use Taunt on us. Unlike yourself, Shiva and I strengths are divided between our offensive and support moves, and having half your possible combative options being locked down in a friendly battle isn't....well, that friendly in my opinion. I'd also like use for all of us to limit the usage of Spread moves in this fight, as the goal of it is to re-build the cameradance between us, not to see who can swamp the other side the fastest. In exchange, all my family members that have either Sleep status causing moves and/or Encore will not use them in battle against you, and I won't use Apsis for this battle, as both those move and my Arbok are hard to properly check or counter. How does that sound, Nathan?" he said, all with a pleasant but serious (not Serious Serious, but lightly so) expression on his face.
The researcher knows that the boy is looking to solve something by engaging Shiva and himself in battle, but what actually is it....? 'I suppose I will find out, when we square off in the field of conflict. Hopefully they agree to my extra conditions, or otherwise the our bout of combat might not be so pleasant as I expect it to be...'
