By the time Nathan reaches camp, Kirlia's having to lean pretty heavily on Nathan's arm for support. Â The poison might not have lingered, but that wound still looked pretty nasty.
All Nathan says to Ventus's (probable)Â shock and worry is, "Skorupi with Poison Fang and Venoshock. Â In the tent. Â We can talk there."
Nathan's primary concern right now is Kirlia. Â Other topics could wait for a little bit.
Flash Forward!
After unearthing whatever he and Lucifer could discover, Ventus made his back to camp to await his friends to return, taking some flint and steel to start tonight's fire. Nathan and Kirlia's arrival brought a smile to the researcher's face....until he saw the condition the young dancer and heard what caused it: severe Poison Damage. Once the shock of the Kirlia's state of duress wore of, his serenity was replaced with a stoic yet somehow stillÂ
angry expression, and he nodded his head and told them: "Understood. *Digs around his satchel to pull out a roll of sterile bandages and a clean towlet, then hands them to Nate* Take these to clean and wrap the wound up, and I'll boil some water so that we can clean it thoroughly."
A quick trip to the river and a few minutes of flash boiling a pot of water with Hanael later, the empath entered the tent and went over to were Nathan and Kirlia were at, and proceeded to undo the bandages, soaked another towlet in the hot water, before carefully/gently cleaning, checking, and re-wrapping the ugly Poison Fang. Then, and only then, did Ven turn to around to address the boy, looking at them with a calm that belayed the wrath he was fiercely clamping down upon, in order to not cause a scene. "Where is the Skorupi at, Nate? A creature that insidious shouldn't be left alone to corrode the life any other unfortunate individual away, let alone having to encounter it in the first place. Apsis certainly be more than willing to help remove the threat the bug poses permenantly, as would I."

Nathan's unamused by that statement. Â His tone is rather flat, the fedora low over his eyes.
"Already took care of it. Â Skorupi can't bother any newbie trainers if he's not even on this route any more."
And more quietly, "...not sure what I'm going to do with him though..."
Shiva will definitely find this Poochyena interesting, though I'm not sure if that'll be in a good way or not!
The first thing Shiva glimpses is a little sparkle of bioluminescence in the growing darkness. It reminds her a bit of fairy light, especially of the mythical fairies that are not Pokemon, but tiny little people with wings. (few adults actually believe in these in Creshire).
From below the flakes of light, a soft growling emerges. Then a little black snout, fanged, holding a sandwich. Poochyena leaps from the road shoulder onto the main road, and Shiva sees the source of the weird light: a pair of TINY Butterfree-style wings sticking out of his back. They flutter oh-so-faintly as he ascends the stone. Scales come off them like a Silver Wind, floating in a cloud around Poochyena. The wings are nowhere near big enough to hold his weight - they couldn't even support a Butterfree - and they flap slowly on their own as if catching the last rays of sunlight through the clouds.
Shiva's not entirely sure what she's found here.
Still Flashforward!
Ventus was equally uneuthused by what the young trainer implied he did with the scorpion, but in the end he just wearily sighed to himself, willing away his vast quantities of rage over Kirlia's predicament. Unlike Nathan, he had gotten down the art dismantling, compartmentalizing, and controling his emotions to a science, so in a matter of moments he was the picture of calming kindness once more, with only fleck of his previously high levels of anger remaining.
"Very well then. If you wish to keep it and raise it alongside your the other dangerous Pokémon you own, then so be it; you are certainly more capable the most of accomplishing that task. If you would care for my recommendation, though, then I suggest either trading away at the nearest opportunity, or give it to Valder/Heart, as they might appreciate such a deadly creature being a part of their team. You could also give it to me to handle, and I can promise you that I won't kill or feed it to Apsis if you wish to spare it such a deserving fate...."
Venipede Round 1
Viktor is confident in this strategy. He is happy to give it his best.
Confuse Ray
(3)(3)(6)(5)(5)
Venipede is confused!
Venipede goes swinging from one side of the mountain pass to the other, bouncing off stones, causing minor rockslides, and steamrolling Phantump a time or two.
Rollout
3 Dex + 3 Fight + 1 -1 accuracy -3 actions = 3/2/1
(6)(3)(2)
(4)(1) 2 hits.
(3)
2 Str + 1 power -3 vit = 1 dice, +1 dice for last hit - which happens to be on Venipede himself!!
Venipede goes careening around, but ends the Rollout too soon in confusion, exposing his soft innards to the rocks of the Divide.
(2)
(2)
(2)(5) Venipede takes 1 dmg while Phantump escapes unscathed. That's pretty great, I like visualizing that.
Venipede Round 2
Rollout
(4)(4)(4)
(1)(3)
(5)
(3) No damage to Phantump, who retreats inside his log
(6) 1 dmg to Venipede 3/5hp. I'm not going to count this pain penalty against his third attack. I'll rule that they all resolve simultaneously.
(5)(6) Phantump takes 2 dmg from the extra powerful final Rollout strike.
Feint Attack
(6)(2)(4)(6)
3 Str + 2 power -2 vit = 3 dice
(2)(2)(4) Venipede takes 1 dmg 2/5hp -2 pain
Poison Point: (6)(3)(6)
Phantump is poisoned
Phantump is tough enough to attempt to resist. (6) No poison damage this round.
Pokeball: (2)(6)
Will: 6 will, -2 pain, -1 for Confusion
(2)(1)(2) The dice were in your favor! Venipede was caught.
I must inform Heart that poison-type moves are not permitted in "noob friendly areas", such as Trillium town, Ginger Town, and the routes between them. That won't come into play for a long while though.
Phantump gains 4XP. Heart gains 3XP.
Venipede has Poison Point, Defense Curl, Rollout, Poison Sting, Pursuit, Protect, Agility.
0 Loyalty, 2 Disobedience, and 1 Happiness.
Nathan looks rather angry for a moment at Ventus's last statement...but a little exercise of Kirlia's psychic power keeps Nathan from saying anything more on the topic (there's no need to argue over this right now...again). He just looks rather tired once the anger fades.
"...*sigh*...look, let's just move on. No killing, no near death experiences...you said something about having a King's Rock and a large Slowpoke, right?"
Kirlia's lounging in a hammock set up in the tent, with Nathan seated nearby. Frankly, they both needed a break...
Nathan finds a money clip containing $500 Pokedollars. There are no discerning features on the money clip; it's a kind mass produced by Professor Mallorn.
Lucifer insists that if there's one rare item here, there must be more. He starts sniffing about, listening in cracks, and heaving rocks aside or breaking brittle ones with Iron Tail. He's finding that the most ancient masonry very much resists his destruction, but anything that's fallen from the mountain and been integrated he can carve right through, if it's small enough.
It works! Lucifer finds the glitter of gold. It's a little analog pocketwatch, sized for a starter Pokemon. The time is set to 12. When Ventus winds it and sets it to the correct time (7:00 or so), it laboriously ticks its way backward all the way back to midnight.
When he gives the clock to one of his Pokemon to hold, he observes that they look less tough than before!
This item (needs a name) sets a Pokemon's Vitality to 3 while the item is held. This includes their hit points and Defense score. Debuffs cannot reduce the holder's Defense below 3.
Valder finds a Lure Ball with a bit of fishing line still attached to it. For a bobber, it's also using a Great Ball.
The researcher didn't react what so ever to the flash of rage that Nathen gave him, as he expected such a reaction from his blunt and cold blooded words, but he wisely decided to let the matter drop when Kirlia intervened on their part and nodded their head. While they have made it abundantly clear to the boy time after time his stance on things that prove dangerous to the group (Kill&/Maim them, or make them wish they were), Ventus knew that Nate would never share or endorse his perspective. Still, he offered to 'dispose' of the Skorupi anyway, just in case; circumstance are subject to change, especially if a cherished friend is involved.
With deftness and grace, he reach into his satchel and pulled the King Rock Minerals (2X) he found, and placed it in between themselves, before he began recounting his fight with the water sloath. "Yes, though I technically don't have a King's Rock, per say, but rather the components to make one, provided we find someone with the expertise/willingness to forge these two mineral clumps together with Ancient Power. Since we are heading to Stair City, one of if not the biggest commercial cities in Cheshire, it should not be arduous to find someone capable of the task...hopefully."
"As for the Slowpoke, it was a larger than the average member of its species, though that extra bulk didn't help it at all against Apsis Elemental Fang attacks. I currently have them transfered to my PC, and from what brief reading I got on his - I believe I'll name him Solomon - feelings, he doesn't resent me from capturing him, so we should not have to expect any resistence or trouble on his part until we evolve him," the researcher explain, gesturing to the King's Rock minerals and the general direction they were going before placing his hands back down his side once more. Just as he did so, though, a look surprise appeared on his face as he remembered the treasure he found today, before he reached into his satchel to pull of the enigmatic watch that his devil bat found earlier and gave Nathan an appraising, curious look.
"  Oh, and while this is off topic, I managed to find two rather percular artifacts while combing the area for treasure with Lucifer: This watch and a necklace that I have given to Apsis. This device *points to Eternally Gold* seem to force a Pokémon to entering a state of being where their life force is set to an absolute value, while the necklace grants the wielder an ability almost exactly the same as Serene Grace during conflict, at the cost of the use of their innate/natural one. I normally detest anything magical, as you are well aware of, but these items seem innoculous from my crude investigations, and having them on hand certainly outweighs whatever downsides they have. It makes me wonder what was ancient Cheshire like, if they could produce items of such complex and wonderous design.... If you want a closer look at the watch, I would not mind at all, but I would have to let Apsis out if you wanted to examine the necklace for yourself."
"So you KOed and demolished Slowpoke without any provocation?"
...
"Ugh...well, at least it's a Slowpoke...probably not going to care too much about anything for now...probably another matter entirely if it evolves into Slowking, though..."
Nathan's rather surprised at what Ventus says next.
"Wait, wait, wait. Hold up.  You found artifacts? Actual, real deal, artifacts?"
Nathan's pretty quick to swipe the watch and start experimenting with it.
"...hmmm...so it always reverts back to showing a midnight time...representing an unchanging vitality, I guess? It's a weird item to give such a power...but I guess few other things could actually represent and hint at such a quirk..."
Nathan's rather distracted now, it seems...
After caugh that Vinipede Heart and use a Full Heal in Phantump, Heart jump in happyness and decide to join again with Ventus. Heart was quite surprise and nervous about Nathan presence since the first day he was....dont liking Heart presence, and transpire a atmosfere of hostility, almost like any hour it could attack Heart. Including Kirlia who was hostile with him, even he try to help. Recovering courage Heart decide to talk and thank Ventus.
"Heya Ventus! I couldnt get the chance to thank you. Thank for helping me use the Good Rod and caugh a Slowpoke myself. Thanks a lot. Oh, and I caugh a Venipede too! I like a lot the Poison-type, along with Dragon-type. Any tips about raise a Poison pokemon? Hi Nathan. Good to see you okay."
Heart dont expect to Nathan remember he help him to carrier him to the Pokemon center after Ventus, Shiva and Nathan battle.
