"...Yes, it is relatively easy to tell. Hmm..." Tired as he is, he might not even notice that Shiva looked like she slept well and peacefully in the city.
It took a little before she gave him an aswer to the plea of talking in private. "Talk in private? Why?"

I must share some information with you and him about somethings I find."
"This again? *sigh*...look, I'll tell all three of you (and Valder, I guess...) what I know about that later. Just...don't ask about it. I'll address any questions later."

"Just...have some stuff to say, that's all...important stuff..."
(Ventus came to the Lobby with Shiva, so of course he's there, Spirit)
The mentioning of 'important stuff' surely got Shiva thinking, maybe even a little curious. Though, it also made her wary since if there is one thing she wouldn't enjoy, then it'd be having this day exploring the city being spoiled by revelations/struggling with inner-group issues and similar... And least of all by these vines! The citizens seemingly didn't care about them too much either.
Watching Nathan being threatened to fall asleep right there on the spotthere for a little while considering what to do,she enventually gave in to the plea. "Fine, we CAN talk if you desire... As longs as you keep it not too lenghty and leave me alone with the vines for today please. I wanted to see the city and Ven agreed to come too... You excuse for a little, do you?"
-At some point along the way to that backroom, but not before grabbing another coffee-
"Besides... That weird egg hatched." Whether Nathan hears this or not, is his call, but simply thinking of her new panda created a smile on her expression. If he has something important to tell, Shiva will probably just jump onto it if the circumstances allow.
"...that's fine. I've got a lot I need to do on my own today, anyways. The explanation can wait until tonight or tomorrow."
Now that he's moving again, Nathan's finding it a little easier to avoid falling asleep.
He REALLY perks up when he hears the black and white egg has hatched, though.
"Really? What hatched from it?"
Oh, careful to not accidently corner her and/or invade her personal space concerning that point. For now though, she kept that calm, delight and waryness in relative balance.
"Nah, that'd have to wait until you finished what you wanted to tell me." There was no anger or anything that might hint into that direction in her voice though. In fact, she might even enjoy the mischief here - bad tongues would dare to say she' toying with him.
Also, all her Pokemon except Tropius (obvious), Poochyena (obvious as well - for now) and Pancham (due to sleeping) follow Shiva into that backroom. They go wherever their Master carries that plate of fruit and Dry Food which served at their breakfast.
Oh, now she was teasing him? Â How frustratingly...he wasn't quite sure what word to use to describe it. Â Gah, this felt weird...he wasn't mad at it though, surprisingly (for him, anyways)...
Well, he'd get an answer soon enough...
Now in one of the back rooms once again, there's a bit of a...somber, yet honest, air about him as he sits across the table from Shiva.
A Talk with a Good Friend: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=In_2hmg7kck
"I know I've been...less than warm lately. I...don't really deserve it, yet you're still here...ready to help...so...I decided to get a little something to say...thank you..."
Nathan reaches behind his back, and Kirlia teleports the bag that Nathan had traded for yesterday and its contents into his hand. (you can do all sorts of fun 'magic' when you're friends with a psychic type!)
Nathan then sets it on the table and slides it over to Shiva.
When Shiva opens the bag and looks inside, she sees...
A ball of red yarn tied into a knot. She'll know exactly what it is.
She carefully listened to the words Nathan spoke out, very well knowing that everything was true. How weird it was to think back to that battle that messed up with her greatly, only to receive a half 'I'm sorry' the next evening and then receiving aid on managing the walk through the mountains thanks to his Ponyta aaand being hugged over the relieve that nothing happened to her during as these running Pokemon came around...
Still, it surely had something to sit here. Something told her that she doesn't have to fear her day being spoiled. At least not from Nathan... Wait a moment...
When he slid that paper bag over to her, Shiva actually didn't reacted to it right away. She surely noticed, but a part of her was puzzled. Reminded her on when Ventus gifted her that pocketwatch (Eternally Gold) just because he could? Maybe. One thing was for sure though, it was a different thing here. Not that it was better or worse, just...different... There was one thing that her mind failed to understand at that point, though, probably that caused the hesitation and slightly puzzled expression while she just kept watching Nathan wither her arms semi-crossed and her Pokemonenjoying the food beside her. "You know, Nathan..." Barely anthing of that slight confusion was audible however, she nicely managed to keep her voice neutral and soft. "...I said that I'm loyal to selected people unless they deliberatly hurt me, but I cannot help but to wonder why you decided to start caring for me... Like, I appreciate the help of Swiftfire along the way to reach this city, but I guess I have to get used to that first... Feels weird. Not bad though, as I didn't expected anything. I was just there to help out when you were at odds with Ven or us all, and while it gets exhausting at some points, I couldn't let either of you fall..."
Very very coyly, Shiva ended up accepting that gift nevertheless because why not and it's a nice gesture still, and when she SAW what it was, something inside her must have moved. Did the morning just got a little better? Could be.
Funny thing, cause one thing she wanted to find out with the help of the underground library was where to find one of these in Chreshire, right after having confirmed that the rumors of different styles of Destiny Knots in that region could be true. Taking it out from that bag, she turned it around a little to examinate it from all sides. "Wait. Waitwaitwait. Is that really one of those that people in Creshire call 'Monkey's Fist? Weird... It feels different than those Knots we have at home ... "Eh, anyway... My, thank you...!~" It might not completely bandage that streak of unhappiness as there's more to it that doesn't particularly have to do with Nathan, but it certainly helps greatly if given a little time.
Just out of curiosity, she also rolled that Knot over to Cottonee, curious how her most trusted Pokemon would react. If she approves it, it should be fine!
Cottonee, as a Fairy type, would be quite interested in the knot. She doesn't know what it's for, and it's not working its powers right now, but she can sense the enchanting effects and she bats it around a bit with a leaf.
"Anyway, I happy to see you two hanging around very well. Like to see two friends undestand each other."
Nathan's face turns a little red (not quite as red as the ball of yarn, though) at Shiva's question about why he cares so much...
"...well...uh...that's because...*ahem*...you're the first one aside from my dad that actually seems to...actually kinda want to hang with me despite...Mom doesn't quite understand, and...*cough*...wanted to make it up to you..."
That was barely audible, and probably didn't explain a whole lot...it's pretty obvious Nathan's fairly embarrassed, though...particularly since he quickly changes the topic to address Shiva's next question (and unintentionally answering a few of her unvoiced ones as well in all likelihood). Oh, and Kirlia's silently chuckling a little as well.
"Anyways...yes, that's a Monkey's Fist style Destiny Knot. Most just call it a Destiny Knot though, as that style's the international standard. It feels different because it's made of yarn, not string. I'm not entirely sure what the original reason for doing so is, but Creshirean breeders have historically used ones made of that material instead for as long as anyone can remember. Particularly skilled breeders are able to craft them, and tying the yarn into types of knots other than the standard style sometimes has...odd and highly varied effects on the offspring. Maybe due to the larger variety of materials that go into making it. Mareep and Baashaun wool, spider silk, plant fibers...my mom's got a couple different kinds of Knots made of several different mixtures of materials at home.
"Oh, and, uh...even a basic yarn Destiny Knot is worth a couple thousand pokedollars because of how long it takes to make them, so...take good care of that one..."
Nathan looks a little sheepish...he'd be more than happy to continue talking about this if asked, but he does also have some things he needs to ask Shiva...
