"Reviving fossils is a rare event. It costs us a lot of money and doesn't always work. The fossil DNA has to be very complete and undamaged. Any damaged pieces are filled in with Corsola DNA and regenerated as stone. You can imagine if too much DNA was missing, you'd just end up with a lump of stone!"
"Starmie, start us off strong."

Magical Leaf 2
(2)(3)(3) Still hits
(3)(4)(5) Starmie is out of the battle.
Magical Leaf 3
(2)(4)
(4)(5)(1) Elgyem is also defeated!
Quite a handy battle. Each Pokemon and Shiva gains 4XP.
"Nicely done. Never was much of a battler, but I do enjoy it. My Pokemon are mostly trained for their field skills. Any other questions about stuff I learned at Uni?"
Oh... Not too hard to imagine that the finding of an mostly undamaged and unharmed DNA of a fossil Pokemon has probably the same rate as finding a shiny Cutiefly in Chreshire. Which was impressive on its own...
Even more impressive was how fast this battle ended up though! Way too fast that Shiva would clearly keep track, plus she was still stunned that her bittersweet cherry-Pokemon randomy learned a new move. One that'll become very useful along the way, for sure.
"Hehe... You might not believe, but I'm by far not one of these 'battlers' either... I mostly train my Pokemon for their skill and the care itself. Though, that was quite an enjoyable battle, thank you! Hmm... If you...ask so kindly..." *insert an alluring and sweet smile here* "Since you mentioned field skills... And there are outdoor classrooms like these... That means there's also practical lessons in the course one'd take, now would it?"
"As well as... Eh..." Actually, Shiva has strong hesitations to ask this, as she somewhat feels the answer will creep her out, whatever it may be. "If you studied here in the Stair City Extension... What's with this 'Nuclear Type'? Is it a newly founded one?"
"Yes, in Botanville most of the classrooms are outdoor! You can take short one-week classes even without being enrolled. The Nuclear Type was discovered far away in a region called Tandor. Dagny was the first to become interested in it, and she found a professor who could teach it. There is a new Eevee family member - Nucleon - who is a useful Nuclear type. Dagny is studying those, since Steel is perfectly resistant to Nuclear. I don't know all the type matchups. The course is very shallow, I hear, and I haven't even taken what they do offer."
He makes no mention of corrupted types or meltdowns - a lot of that has still been kept under wraps, and Creshire seldom cares about the events in other regions anyway.
"Creshire does have myths of heavy metal legendary Pokemon though! I am not sure if they are Steel type, Rock type, or Nuclear type."
I'll move on to meet Nathan at the Lobby of GPC then, if that's okay, and leave it at that for today. Cliffhanger?
Bidding farewell to Torch for now (not before thanking him again for the battle, money and answering her questions), Shiva began to make her way back to the GPC. Kyuu has been summoned to be a companion along the way, as well as enjoy a bit of free time outside his Pokeball and beside his Master. Shiva couldn't help but to silently wonder about her psychic kitten... It does hold immense psychic powers, and that from the start on. It's just hidden away and safely concealed by the folded ears - the trick was to channel it into the right direction. This was something vastly different than with Helios. Maybe her father's advice will add its part... Something Shiva also knew, was that male Espurr who seem to preferably follow their own pace will evolve into quite mischievous Meowstic later on, enjoying nothing more than pestering and toyng with the foe before they even think of displaying their true power. Their eyes (is it really 'just' a pattern?) the folded ears conceal.
It was getting dark meanwhile....
The first thing Shiva notices inside the Lobby of the GPC is Nathan seemingly already waiting for her! Neat... and worrysome at the same time. She looked over to him for a little, before sighing impercible and carefully approaching him.
"Good evening there, Nathan... Nice to see you here, did you wait long for me? I finished some errands in the city before work at the Shelter starts tomorrow..." ... "besides, enjoy the food. I was wondering...whether you could lend me Porygon-Z while you finish eating? I'll hand him back to you in a few minutes, I just want him to look into something on my PC. I dunno whether this is a glitch or something similar, so the help of a Porygon and its evolution line is certainly appreciated."
Smokestack Round 3
Disobedience: (2)(6)
Nidorino isn't very impressed by this battle. He turns away and casually flicks a single Poison Sting at Numel, not even caring if it hits or not.
Poison Sting
(4)(6)(3)(6)(2)(6)
3 Str +1 power -3 vit =1d6-1. No damage.
Poison: (4)(6)(1) Numel becomes poisoned.
Koa shakes his head. He shows off a bit as he rushes Numel. Rivalry: (3) - Numel is a girl. The rivalry is with the disobedient Caesar!
Dual Chop
(6)(4)(2)(6)(5)
(3)(6)(1)(4)
(6)(5)
(5)(2) Numel takes 3 dmg. 1/6hp -3 pain.
Numel stomps her foot and sends a shockwave over to Caesar.
Earth Power
8 dice -2 actions -3 pain = 3 dice
(4)(2)(2)
3 Str + 3 power +1 stab -3 vit = 4d6+1
(5)(6)(1)(2) Caesar takes 3 dmg 4/7hp -1 pain.
Caesar's poison is dampened.
Chance: (2)
"Alright Luxio, welcome to the battlefield!" (4) Luxio is male.
"The dragon is your responsibility. Don't let him horn in on your territory! Bite!"
Bite 1
8 dice -3 actions
(5)(5)(5)(6)(1)
4* Str +2 power -3 vit = 3d6
(1)(2)(1) Koa's extra neck scales protect him, just like a mane.
Flinch: (3)(5)(6) Koa flinches anyway.
"That was a great attack Numel. Again. Disobedient Pokemon have no place on the battlefield. Then you can rest."
Earth Power
(4)(4)
(4)(3)(5)(2) Caesar takes 3 dmg 1/7hp -3 pain.
Chance: (3)
Bite 2
(3)(3)(1)(1)
Bite 3
(6)(5)(1)
(2)(1)(1) What'd I say about those scales?
Koa's already flinched.
Poison: (4) Numel survives the poison.
I'll give you a chance to change orders. Remember Koa's first action will be a flinch.
"Well that's not work well." Say Heart and he use a simple potion to Caesar. "Next time try to use a little effective move. Okay, change of plans. Caesar! Focus your attacks in Numel! Any ground move might be super effective against you so be careful! Double Kick or any ofencive move might be do the trick! After that use Horn Attack against Luxio two times! Koa you might be Flich because of that Bite so next attack try to focus avoid any of Luxio next move! Then use Dual Chop against him!"
Action: Flinch may stop move, so I think avoid next attack may not help much. But I can try at least. And since I only have enough Dex to at least three moves per Pokemon, it's better with a STAB move with extra power.
Smokestack swaps out Numel for Gastly. You can't make substitutions, but you can update your orders!
"Little point in you staying on the field, Numel. Rest up while (5) Brother Gastly takes care of business."
"Gastly...well that's screw my old strategy." Then Heart update the orders. "Caesar, you fight against Luxio! Normal and Fighting moves it's useless against Gastly, and Poison moves will not help anything. Caesar use Double Kick against Luxio then use Horn attack. Koa! Use Dual Chop us much times you can against that Gastly! That will be you first test to become a might dragon! Use all of your power and show that ghost your strength!"
Action: Caesar to use Double Kick against Luxio and Horn Attack. Like to notify you forget the STAB power in Poison Sting when Caesar decided to use it. And Koa to use Dual Chop against Gastly like there no tomorrow, let's hope if that phantom can handle that. And don't forget the STAB.
Smokestack Round 4
Disobedience: (6)(6)
Caesar absorbs the potion and exudes poison through his skin, drenching the battlefield!
Toxic Spikes
(4)(3)(5)(6)(1)(3)
Gastly attempts a Sucker Punch on Nidorino, but it fails.
Koa works himself up into a huff, and then runs grunting into the fray!
Dual Chop 1&2
8 dice -3 actions -1 acc = 4/3 dice
(6)(6)(3)(6)
(6)(4)(1)
4* str + 2 power +1 stab -3 vit = 4 dice
(1)(2)(1)(1) No damage
(4)(6)(3)(6) Gastly takes 3 dmg 3/6hp -2 pain
"Looks like we're changing partners! Luxio, Spark on Nidorino."

8 dice -3 actions
(1)(4)(5)(5)(3)
4* Str + 3 power +1 stab -3 vit = 5d6
(3)(2)(6)(2)(5) Nidorino takes 2 dmg The potion brought him to 5/7, so now he's at 3/7 -2 pain.
Paralyze: (5)(4)(2)
"Gastly, Lick on the Axew!
Lick 2
(5)(6)
3 Str + 1 Stab +1 power -3 vit = 2d6
(6)(5) Axew takes 2 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain
Paralyze: (6)(2)(2) Axew was paralyzed! -2 dex
Koa already used move 2, and now with paralyze he doesn't have enough dice.
Luxio roars again and clashes with his rival, who finally turns to meet his attack! But it's not enough.
Spark 2
(2)(5)(2)(2)
(5)(5)(1)(6)(1) Nidorino takes 2 dmg 1/7hp -3 pain.
Paralyze: (5)(4)(5)
Lick 3

"Hm? Oh, there you are, Shiva..."
Nathan seems very, very distracted again...not enough to not notice what Shiva said, but enough for Kirlia to be a little worried again. Â He still has no idea what's going on with that lasagna, either...Nathan seems to be enjoying it, so what's the big deal? Â He's looking at Shiva again, trying to ask her to inquire about what's been going on.
"Nah, wasn't waiting long. Â Had...other things I was doing in the meantime."
Nathan does look up when Shiva asks to borrow Porygon-Z. Â "A glitch in your PC? Â It couldn't be...nah, probably not..." Â He's moreso muttering to himself right then...
...though he's quick to turn his attention back to Shiva's request rather than focu on the details. There'd be an answer soon enough. "...alright, I'll have him help you."
Porygon-Z is summoned rather quickly. Â "You mind helping Shiva out, Porygon-Z? Â She says there's some sort of glitch or something in her PC and she needs your help looking into what's causing it."
