Whoahw. 700$ surely are something, as she didn't even knew he was so lucky on stumbling over more valuable things aside from that Shamisen. Thinking of it, he agreed to keep it and see if none in the village can repair it, right? Let's hope it worked, but she trusted that he was taking care of this issue sufficiently. With that in mind, she thankfully yet coyly suprised accepted the money from him, not before asking twice whether it's really okay for him and whether it's really for her.
After having it confirmed the third time, she finally packed the money away, not quite sure what to do with it yet though. Well, she hasn't seen the local Store yet, so now there was another reason to look forward to this!~ As for Ven, he received a soft-spoken Thank-You and an warm increasement of the hug of his arms that may not be directy 'heart melting', but certinaly appreciating. Green tweed was still rather cuddly, she could sleep in right there leaned into his should-....NO!
Should or could have known that she likely cannot hide that she had a somewhat rough start of the day, as much as she may have tried to. "Hehe... Waking up in our metropolis and here in a distant village surrounded by swampland is quite a huge difference, especially when I was never so close to nature and native habits. But, I'll get used to it eventually...or so I hope..." *faint and slightly embarrased chuckle* "Hmm? Oh... Well, yesterday was quite a treat, no need to forgive you for asking! All of you rather wuicly went directly to the Pokemon Center once we arrived, it may have slipped your mind that nearby, there was music. Somehwere in this city, they played music! From what I heard, it sounded like a festival or such, and as I didn't felt like heading into a dorm of the Center right away, I went there to fins the source. It... It turned out it was a bonfire, and eternal even. They sang and played music, listened to a Jigglypuff sing, roasted marsh mallow plants, threw Chesto Berry twigs into the fire and overall had their fun. Everything felt rather inclusive, so I simply stayed to enjoy a peaceful night by the fire. I had my fun, and Azurill had too... as she... she..." At THAT point, her smile greatly increased and her emotions where almost flooded with a happy feeling while discretly pointing to the table Cottonee and the others of her Pokemon where munching away the offered breakfast..
"...she...evolved." Given the top hat she's in/lays beside her, it was unmistakeable the same Azurill that belonged to Shiva. When she and probably Ven looked into that direction, Marill noticed and happily waved to them.
"That... so sweet! I ended up celebrating this for hours. And what where you doing so far before I ran into you?"
(I need to head to bed now. However, trading of Pineco and special Carnivine can be done regardless, and checking on Nathan as well if not waiting is it. Shiva certainly has stuff to say to Nathan/everyone while still in his room, so don't just wander off if possible. Night!)
"Excuse me, sir! I couldn't help overhearing that you're here all the way from...well, I didn't hear exactly where. Not here, is my point. The name's Reverend Cottonwood, and I'm a Pokemon Professor. The League mandates that a Professor be available every so many miles, and, well, this is the only civilization around. So I run a small Lab on the southeastern side of Arrowroot Village, and I breed trainers' first Pokemon there! Well, hardly any youths start their journey here, so I have some spares. Well, I'll trade them for just about anything you have to offer, as long as it's not trash, you know. Well, I'd even take a Rattata if it had a rare move or something. Carnivine is fairly common in this swamp, relative to the rest of Creshire, but it's not a fast-breeding species. Pineco is quite common, but I'll take it if it knows Selfdestruct. Here are the starters I am able to offer right now, one of each!"
Totodile, Chikorita, Tepig
Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Torkoal
"Tell your friends, too. Anything of scienteriffic value would do. Limit one per trainer though, because I need to keep a few good and obedient fighters on hand."
Well, finding someone to trade that explosive pine cone to went rather smoothly even after having a relative bad beginning of the day before she ran into a familar oddball of researcher. Given that he told her that he too was on the lookout for someone to trade captured Pokemon to, Shiva simply tagged along, as together they may have more luck!
...They indeed had, as that Pokemon Professor aproached them and immediatley engaged them into a conversation. Shiva listened both with interest and caginess. That Pineco of hers shall be given to someone who gives her an image that they are aware what they're doing after all, despite she wanted to get rid of it! The thought of giving it to a Professor to contain didn't sound so bad actually, especially if she'd get one of those Pokemon that are especially bred as a partner for new Trainers starting their journeys... At the same time, she can REALLY understand why hadrly anyone starts a journey from here, mostly maybe children who grew up here in the village anyway. They're probably used to the swamp as well, as having to deal with a swamp with malaise crossing one's path every mile or such sounded like quite a challenge for a freshly baked Trainer. Rattata with rare moves... These rats are known to have precious Flame Wheel decoded in their gene pool.
When she finally spoke up, she did so with an agreeing tone in her voice. "Well, you made your point, Professor...Cottonwood" - 'what a melodic name!' she thought, " and your offer sounds agreeable. Before that though, you allow me to ask something please? ...Thank you. Well, the first is just out of curiosity, are you and Professor Mallorn aquinted in any way? As he was it who got our - or rather, my - Starter. Second, you introduced yourself as 'reverend' - are you in charge to that Earth and Sky Chapel here in town in any way?"
"I have met Professor Mallorn only once. He visited here some years ago, to see if there was anything worth trading. I believe he left disappointed."
"Well, I was a Reverend before I was a Professor! Reverend of the Sky Chapel. My colleague is the Reverent Root, of the Earth Chapel."
Oh. 'Years ago'... " It's ineed the Sky Chapel I'm interested in! In that case, you may be able to give me your thoughts and confirmation on a thing about it. That is, I couldn't help but to notice how cotton is somewhat related to the God of the Sky. I know that there seem to be two of these Gods... An Incarnate of the Southern Wind and an unamed one. The first is what interests me, and the lyrics of 'Skirl of the South Wind' especially mention how 'her wool will keep you warm'. This reminds me on my own Cottonee. I also know that the incarnate can have different forms depending on who summons her how. Is that all correct?"
(Concerning which Starter-Pokemon to trade for Pineco, brought something up, so this will be his input.)
"The Southern Wind is not the God of the Sky. The God of the Sky is much more powerful, and the Incarnation is his servant. He is a spirit god, a maker and builder and organizer of things relating to the sky. However, the Incarnation of the Southern Wind does fall under my purview as Reverend, so ask any questions gladly! Much like the mighty Cottonwood tree for which I am named, the Southern Wind sends many fluffy warm seeds and rich warm sunbeams to fill the air."
What a lucky shot. The day has only started and yet Shiva felt a tab bit closer to what seemed to progress the group in saving the far away Stair City from those blasted vines. Given that she was on the right path, that is! In fact, somewhere deep she was still unsure about whether it was, but the will to follow this path and at least give it a try where a tiny little bit stronger than any ever-present doubts within her. To her very own suprise, she didn't feel bad or worried about that plan - situation was dire (how dire, she only knew from the latest vision), yes, didn't this only mean one should try harder? Was there any other choice available within time apart from journeying to the ends of the earth?
"Hmm... That's what I already suspected. It sounds like this Incarnate is an overall generous and friendly 'creature' contrary to her orderer, able to fly us anywhere yet only northward and without return anymore. Earlier, she seemingly did. I feel that something might have...enraged or infected her enough to cause her loose faith and reason such a change." ... "Oh, and a Cottonwood Tree sounds funny, I like that! Do any of these grow nearby the village?" ( = can they be encountered?)
No more questions after this.
Heart decides to go to a Pokemon battle to train his team. (600 Pokedollar Iron, three vs three. Faint rules)
Feeling the warmth, kindness, and graditutde iminating from his dearest friend in the world, Ventus' smile unconsciously went from 'Heart Melting' to 'Oh My Reshirim, I'm Burning With Passion!' levels of intensity, nodding in response to her questions regarding keeping the Poke given while continuously musing their hair as she clung to him. Her comment about the difference between city living and rural rough illicited a warm chuckle from him as he shook his head in agreement with them. "Oh yes, transition from industrial to pre-industrial society is a shock to the system like no other, but I've long grown used to it from my frequent excerssions into the wilds for research purposes, so it doesn't bother me overly now. You'll adjust in due time, dear, so don't feel to put out!"
The empath then listened to her recount her night, and was able to recall that he didfaintly hear the sound of music coming from deeper within the village. Her description of the Eternal Bonfire caused an interested twinkle to appear in his eyes as his smile grew even MORE intense from the joy he was feeling/receiving because of them. 'A place of merriment, music, and celebration? Perhaps someone there can teach me and Lucifer how to properly play our respective instruments. My experience with music is rather woefully lacking and rusty, so I should avail myself of their help at the soonest opportunity,' he thought, already making plans to do so when his most blessed friend next statement/motioning caused his eyes to widen as he spun around with her to behold the newly evolved Mariill!
Stunned speechless at such a serendipudous evolutionary event, his grin power and majesty increased to the point that an uninitiate would have found themselves incapacitated by the sheer joyfull emotion surging through it, and he boldy grabbed Shiva by the waist and lifted her up into the air! "Stupendous, my dear, just stupendous!!! Oh, how I now regret not accompanying as I missed out on the initial celebrations, but I will just have to compensate for that even more! I'm going to bake a cake or whatever local dessert they have here for you and Maril, and we will share it amongst ourselves and our Pokémon to truly share the joy of this wonderous event! Congradulations, Shiva! Congradulations, Maril!!!" Once the full brunt of his overly positive outburst has passed, Ventus realized the full extent of the scene he was causing, and quickly placed his friend back down on the ground, and coughed into his fist while looking away in the other direction with a faintly embarrassed expression.
"Errr, yes, we'll re-celebrate this event later on, alright? As for what I did in our time appart, I got my madalen repaired, so its fully ready to be used to summon the Southern Wind! All we have to do now is find the appropreite 'Skial' that will ferry us to the ends of the earth, so that we may find the solution to eradicating those blasted vines! I've also been experiment with my own herb lore and medical knowledge, and successfully was able to create 3 Potions from a simple Oran Berry, Sweet Root, and a Potion!!! They taste worse than black lichorous, but they are effective, so now I have the means to truly stretch my and the group's medical supplies to a great degree than before!" the researcher said with that same INTENSE smile on his face.......before it suddenly was replaced by a dour, solumn frown that was most jarring to see after all the joyful energy he previously possessed just evaporate.
"....Last night, however.....*Sighs* I'm afraid it was not as festive as your, my dear. Let me explain....."
Ventus then recounted his entire interactions with Nathan that night, from when he first approached them to waiting the night outside his room in the ICU/whatever! and his subsequent morning plans, sparing no detail as to fully update her on what happened. ".....And that is the jist of it, Shiva. Nathan is currently laid up with Kirlia keeping close watch, so I know he's in good hands at the moment. We should pay a visit to him before we conduct any more business today, but for now let's find someone that will trade for our respective Pokémon, alright?"
*After she has had the chance to react, and the Proffessor Came with his offer*
Ventus was intrigued by the reverand's offers, especially since most of them were rare or sought after Starting Pokémon, so he silently contemplated what exactly he wanted on his team while Shiva chated with them about the local religious practices. As a devout believer of the Tao Trio, he honestly didn't care to indulge that much into what he was speaking of, but he was not a zealot or intorlerant when it came to religious matters, so he just casually listened as he thought, before he turned to Shiva with a curious experssion.
"Hmm....I can't honestly decide what Pokémon I want more, so which one has caught your eye, dear? Maybe that would help me finalize my decision...."

"Yes, they grow fairly commonly in the swamps. They are easy to pick out, because they are the only tree to grow over 40' tall. They shed their cotton in Summer, when the Nincada evolve."
"If you are interested in summoning the Southern Wind, you will have to spend time preparing yourself. She only comes to one who can clear their mind and feel the energy of the earth. Grass Pokemon can be helpful in this. Musical Pokemon are good too. I've heard of some using Psychic types to help calm them, too. Allow the music of the Southern Wind to enter you. Learn the music until you have it down so well that you cannot make a mistake. Well, I don't mean a wrong note, I mean a wrong feeling. The music will carry you as much as the Southern Wind does." He smiles.
"Ah, I saw her once, the Southern Wind. A beautiful streamlined elder spirit, she was to me, Flying on the wings of wind...high above the haze...it was the finest moment of my life when we completed that ritual."
