(12-07-2017, 07:29 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: [ -> ]Despite the discontent bubbling within Shiva that ended up lacing her words with sharp bitterness/frustration, Ventus let her speak their mind to the emotionally vulnerable boy. The reason he did so were simple: If he stopped her from releasing her negativity it would only grow and fester in her ,  he mostly agreed with what she had to say on the matter (Though he though the boy was capable of preforming the ritual, given his extraoridinary amounts of compassion) , and that, sometimes, 'some anvils needed to be dropped' if he or the group was going to make any significant progress together through Cheshire, let alone on their current quest. Regardless of the good of his mystical friend's words, they still carried potent feelings that could (and most likely would) weigh Nathan down even further into the mire of doubt and self resentment he's experiencing, so he spoke up soon after she finished speaking her piece on the matter, placing a hand on her should while he did so.
" I believe that is enough for the time being, Shiva. We've made our case and presented what evidence we had that this ritual would meet our expectations, so let us not overly pressure him about this anymore than we already have." Ventus then looked over at boy crying, and gave them the best worried smile he could muster in bleak times such as this one. "I'm sorry that we've been so....insistent on our method in getting to the 'Ends of the Earth' , Nathan.....we just thought that our findings would be enough to help rekindle your spirits, and got incessed when that wasn't the case. Still, I understand why your skeptical of this, as we only have old, circumstantial evidence supporting our claims and no definitive proof that summoning the 'Southern Wind Incarnate' would actually be a successful endevour. I know better than most of the overwhelming pressure you feel right now, and the weigh of responsibility that comes with it, so being critical about this is perfectly reasonable."
He took a deep breath then, and did his utmost to release as much of his own negativity in his exhaulation so that his next words would not come across bitter or hurtfull. ".....But Nathan....what do we stand to lose by trying this summoning ritual that is not already on the line? It may be a longshot effort, yes, and the time we have to solve this crisis of Vine is crucial, but if we leave Arrowroot now for the location implied by Tandel, Stair City would almost assuredly be lost unless Dagney and Stable Z succeed in quelling the Vines by themselves. Staying here to conduct the ritual, in the grand scheme of things, would not significantly affect our chances of stopping the vines. If we fail in the ritual, we proceed to the next set of clues to solve this crisis, and are given more time to open Kirlia's heart more to outsiders. If we succeed, though, all of us will be taken to our desired location, and can proceed to the next stage in solving the vines."
"In light of all this, would it not be preferential to try the ritual and move on regardless of the outcome, rather move on right away?"
Kirlia actually gives Ventus a small smile. Ventus was actually doing a decent job of talking with Nathan right now.
"I didn't say...*sigh*..."
His head's still hanging, and he still feels rather defeated, but he's stopped crying...
"...how long do you think it will take? We have a week. At best. If we don't reach a solution by then...Max will likely be..."
He's had barely any input, Shiva seemed set on doing this herself regardless of whether it was to help him, he's out of ideas after digging for details (he doubted they'd be able to get an exact location), and he has what he considers close family in the affected area...Nathan's had a pretty miserable time...
...but there's little else he can do right now...it seems to be out of his hands for now, and not by his choice...
(Want a hint on how to help him out, Windos? Ask who Max is.)
"A week should be more than sufficient. I've read the lyrics over and over every now and then since I received them, so that's a good call. Professor and Reverend Cottonwood did not mention how long it took him to conduct a successfull summoning, but asking him feels pointless as it likely differs from person to person. I'll look into it, am thankful for any help as well any alone time being granted when I'm asking for it. I feel the person preparing oneself will sense it when feeling ready."
"We also need to plan in some time to head to the Natute Preserve, probably at the end. They have the flutes the song's written for."
It was relieving to see that he at least stopped crying. In fact, very yery shyly a soft tone in her voice came back. She wanted so say something more, it had to do how she wanted him to recover, but she opted not to.
The young psychic dancer's encouragement felt rather nice to receive for Ventus, as that meant he was doing a fine enough job motivating their (Kirlia's) best friend out of their funk WITHOUT causing more problems than not. Unfortunately, small progress is still just that, as Nathan still felt utterly out of his depth and miserable even he stopped sheding tears, though at the very least he was a little more open to trying their idea first. That name he dropped, though....
"......Nathan, who is this 'Max' you speak of? .....If I am also to presume, are they also in trapped in Stair City right now? Is that why you are worried, and want to find a solution ASAP?"
Your arithmetic is a little off there lol.
Mannawhehi Round 8
Bibarel's cheeks inflate.
Water Gun 1
2 Dex + 1 Fight + 2 = 5d6
(5)(5)(3)(5)(3)
Evasion: (6)(3)(6)
4* Str +2 power + 1 stab -3 = 4d6
(6)(3)(2)(2) Tynamo takes 1 dmg 4/6hp -1 pain.
The spurt of water is large enough that Tynamo's tiny body can barely avoid it.
Charge Beam 2
7 dice, -1 accuracy, -4 actions, -1 pain = 1d6
(4)! A miraculous hit despite the odds.
Bibarel's Unaware ignore's Charge Beam's strength increase.
6d6+1 dmg, -4* vit = 2d6+1
(5)(5) Bibarel takes 3 dmg 5/8hp -1 pain.
Charge Beam 3 doesn't have enough dice.
Poison: (4)

Kirlia makes a rather disgusted face at that. Blegh. He did NOT want to go back out there if they could avoid it!

"...he's my mom's personal Rapidash, and a very...special one at that. It's...difficult to describe what makes him so special...you'd have to see it for yourself...he's also partially the mascot of the ranch, but he's...been with my mom for as long as I can remember...as long as my dad could remember, even...and he's not a fighter. Mom never taught him Fire Blast nor Inferno, and never intends to. And she's a breeder, not a tutor, so the strongest Fire move he knows is Flare Blitz, and he only resorts to using it when absolutely necessary...if we lost him to these damned vines just because he accompanied Stable Z to rally them, serve as their leader and beacon of hope..."
"...the Stair City Nurse Joy is looking after him currently...if we lose the GPC, there's a good chance we lose Max along with Stair City..."
(Not the first time Ventus has seen/heard this name, either. It was in Marta's email, too, if you remember.)

Heart was impressive with the little one strong will to win. Tynamo did swin though the Water Gun and hit Bidarel with that strong Spark! The Pokemon is incredible! "AWESOME! Tynamo, lets finish this with one last attack! remember, we cant afford to loose focus and go precipitate! First focus in avoid his next attack then go with everything your most strong Spark! Pierce his defences with your strongest eletric attack!"

Heart then grab Tynamo and hug him. "Excelent job Tynamo! You did a awesome job out there little one!" Heart see the guy called him to follow. He is quite worry about follow strangers, but decided that could not hurt. "Hey guy, can you at least heal my Tynamo from his poison?" Then Heart bring Rose, just in case that guy do something funny.
