Nathan and Larry finish an exhausting training session. It uh...took awhile for Bubbles to learn Water Gun. Swiftfire might have also been caught in the crossfire of 'failed' water guns 2 or 3 times (Nathan suspects at least one of those was purposely aimed at her).
Feeling just a little bit tired, Nathan approaches the RV with Larry. He's not ready to turn in yet though. Vincent is still out there, looking for that Voltorb. It took some convincing, but Nathan managed to keep Larry from running off immediately when he finally noticed that text about what Vincent was currently doing. He can see Shiva's climbed down from the RV's roof, and is attending to her pokemon and the juggler (I assume Larry brought him there before heading off to train due to the timing of everything)...the Hoppip have long since been blown away, and Plusle and Minun are playing in the sand. Ventus was still out and about with that Swimmer...or so Nathan assumed. He didn't see him anywhere around the RV, at least.
Nathan sits down. It's probably about time he figured out what the pink pearl is. But first, a message to Vincent.
"Back at the RV. Where are you? Did you find the Voltorb? Should we come get you, or should we meet you somewhere else?"
Message sent, Nathan pulls the pearl out of the bag. Ralts is immediately drawn to it once again. "Hmmm...it does look a lot like a Clamperl...maybe the pokedex will have more info..." Looking up what little info the dex has on the Clamperl, he finds that the species makes exceedingly rare, valuable, and powerful pearls when mature ones evolve. It's a once-in-a lifetime occurrence for the clams. The pearls have the ability to amplify psychic powers apparently. "So if that's the case...is that why you find it so interesting Ralts? You feel stronger when near it?" Ralts continues to stare at the pearl. Swiftfire is pacing impatiently still. She doesn't get what the big deal is.
Larry sat and watched the juggler as he healed from the explosion Larry turned to shiva and said "hey im sorry for bothering you at the pokecenter and pestering cottoniee." Larry then pulled out his pokedex and saw that Rachel texted him three times already while he was training "oh no she must be ticked off with me." Larry said as he texted her back Larry then put the dex up and saw Nathan holding a big pearl "hey that's one nice pearl you got there." Larry said
Larry then got a reply from Rachel saying "why didn't you just tell me you where training before you started." Larry was nervous about what she was thinking Larry then answered "I didn't think you would call or text you rarely do anyways." "this day is gonna be long." Larry said as he put the dex away and sighed "im hungry" Larry said as his stomach rumbles
(Mechanical note, Shiva returned to the RV as she picked up her Electric rodents from the riverbank, so she's indeed available again if needed. Pokemon are all withdrawn after healing up thanks to Miltank.)
How neat! Was that a 'I'm sorry' from Larry...? It appearantly was. She wasn't quite sure though whether it was an honest excuse... Something in her struggled to believe it was. No idea why... But her feelings very rarely lie to her. And thinking that everything's fine between them by a simple 'I'm sorry' is adorable, but sadly unrealistic.Â
Still, she appreciated his words. Not much up for that right now, though, so she replied with a neutral "Nevermind. Shall be alright." Cottonee definitely won't forgive him, she understands her fluffball well enough meanwhile that she can be somewhat sure about this.
Hearing Larry complain about the lack of food, she remembered something... Shortly after, she fished out a (packed)Â sandwich from bagpack and slid it over to Larry. "Here. That's the last one I snatched from the Pokemon Center in Trillium, but I'm fine for today and it might be spoiled tomorrow." Kept a neutral tone in her voice instead of the usual soft one. Might be unwillingly though, or just because she's a little tired by now.
Spotting Tramp nearby doing...something on the RV, she remembered another thing - carefully, she approached him. "Ehm... Listen... I caught up that you mentioned HM Fly earlier. So, are they indeed that rare in Chresire?"
Better not mention that at home, exactly two exemplars of this HM (one is a safety backup) are lying around on a shelf among a various collection of TMs. All stuff her father needs and often uses for his job.
"And, you said that Fly get weaker upon being passed to a Pokemon from its parents... What do you mean by that?" Indeed, Shiva knew that TM and even HM moves can be passed via breeding. But the 'getting weaker' part was new to her.

Nathan looks up when he hears Shiva talking about Fly.  He's read about HMs plenty of times before, as both TMs and HMs play a large role in trainer life in most regions. "Yeah, that's one of the reasons HMs have become much more highly sought after in recent years.  It was discovered that the effects of the moves diminish over a long period of time if they weren't taught by the actual HM.  Not even the TM versions of some of those moves that were developed in Alola are able to perfectly replicate the effectiveness of HMs.  I can't say I've ever heard of an actual HM appearing in Creshire due to their scarcity.  As far as I know, there isn't even mass production of TMs here, let alone HMs.  HMs are few in number and incredibly hard to replicate.  Whoever makes them must keep the secret of their differences from TMs closely guarded.  The only trainers I've ever heard of obtaining actual HMs are the ones that went on to become Champions in regions other than Alola.  You know which ones I'm talking about, I'm sure."
Ralts is now trying to grab the pearl and lift it, but is failing to do so. For the little pokemon barely over 1 foot tall, it's reeeaaaalllly heavy, as Nathan had deduced earlier.
"Don't mind me, just tightening these bolts...Yeah! The Fly HM. HMs in Creshire are different, you see. Truly Legendary. You asked if there were only a few copies - well, it's quite possible there is only one copy of some of these HMs, or none. A normal computer can't copy them - not even a League computer. We just don't have the technology anymore, I guess.
The HMs in other regions have nothing on the legendary Hidden Machines of Creshire. Ours are the originals! The undiluted purest forms of those moves. I hear in other regions they use Cut to take down little trees blocking the path. Ha! My mammy told me, when I was a lad, Creshire's Cut HM could slice through solid steel. In fact, waaaaay back, who knows how long ago, the original League used Cut to slice their way into the King's secret bunker, where even an angry Dragonite couldn't get in.
When a Pokemon learns an HM move, its life is changed forever. Even Surf, the most common HM in Creshire. There's no going back. And it affects the descendants, too - some call it a bit of a curse. Of course, the effect weakens. The energy of the Hidden Machines dilutes over the generations, just like pure blood dilutes. Just like today's Pokemon are weaker than those of old. That Cut that can slice through enchanted steel, hey, maybe it can only cut through stone now. And maybe, in dozens of generations, it would merely be a variation of Tackle used for cutting down saplings, like in other regions."
"By the way, are we waiting on that ex-cop, or moving on?"

"well at least im getting some where with everyone" Larry thought to himself. As she slid over the sandwitch "oh thanks Shiva!" Larry opened the sandwitch and split it in half and let out his pokemon "ok guys time to eat!" and let out the four. Larry then split the other half in to four peaces and fed it to his team
"And yes, the Technical Machines aren't mass produced, but that's only because they're really expensive to make. An unused disc can stand the test of time, so sometimes you find them in old ruins or buried in the graves of their trainers. Spooky! I've only found one or two my entire life of traveling Creshire. Soon, the TM gets worn out. It's pretty easy to manipulate energy, you know, but it's really really hard to build something that can repeatedly handle that much energy.

"I've texted him, asking where he is and if he's gotten that Voltorb yet. Â We shouldn't move on without him. Â If he wants us to meet him somewhere, we can go there. Â But I'm waiting on a response right now."
Shiva listened to both of them with much interest. Didn't knew all this, actually never really bothered to dig into where all this TMs came from. But... Now that they mention it - it indeed made some sense. 'Legendary HM' - How very melodic.
"Thanks, both of you... I'll surely keep that in mind during travelling." Mental note: Look out for TMs and HMs in Chresire. If you find one, treasure it at all costs.
"Eh, we should wait for Ventus as well... Last time I saw him, he headed down the riverbank, in the opposite direction of where I was busy with my Electric rodents roasting a Shellder." ... Wait, there was a Voltorb? Maybe - nope, probably - that has caused the distant explosion. Hopefully Vince was alright - from what she caught up concerning him so far, he seemed to be a pretty stealthy man - but not directly 'cold', as she liked to believe. He definitely knew how to get things done, appearantly. Always up for something.

(Dragon, do me the favor and don't have Nathan tell her where he saw Ven. She doesn't need to know, it would cause unnecessary tension~)
Nathan ALMOST says something about the swimmer he saw Ventus with.  Almost.  But for some reason, he doesn't.  He could feel Ralts sensing...something coming from Shiva.  He had no idea what kind of emotion it was.  But whatever it was, it had something to do with Ventus.  Besides, it's not like Nathan cared all that much about what Ventus was doing with his time right now...just so long as he wasn't planning to attack him with a highly deadly snake... Â
"Yeah, I saw him wander off too...I think he was going after a Shellder as well for some reason...something seemed off about it though...actually, thinking about it, I was rather far away when I saw it...meaning it must have been HUGE if I saw it from that far away..."
At this point, Ralts has somehow managed to not only get ahold of the pearl, but lift it veeeerrrry slightly. Â "What the...Ralts! Â You know that thing is too heavy for you to hold, right? Â How many times do I have to tell you that?"
You can practically hear the horse laughing in the background based on the way she's acting while watching this little scene.
