Nestor Round 3
Hehe. As expected. massive damage. And this was only Fairy Wind, wait up for a boosted Moonblast!
"Poor lil' Dratini. But, you literally asked for it!" ... "Very well done, dear fluffball! Do it again - but please, not too strong this time. Don't make the Dragon faint. Even if the temptation is strong now."
Orders for this round: As said, use Fairy Wind again.
Effect: Damage. That is, if the single dice loves us once again.
Secondary Effect: None.
Pain Penalization: 0 so far.
Accuracy Roll: 0 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 0 Channel = 1 dice
Damage Roll: 2 Strenght (+1 due to Growth)+ 2 Power of the move + 1 STAB = 5 dice
Additional notes: -2 Dexterity due to Paralysis. 1 Autodamage due to super effective.
If the attack would defeat Dratini, ease it to leave Dratini with 1 HP. Giving the opponent the chance to end the battle before the Dragon is slayed.
*This happens when Nathen called Valder out on his name
Ventus just sighed when Nathan snapped at Valder about his name, shaking his head at the young trainer. "While Valder hasn't had the best of first impression, there is not reason to treat him like dirt for just trying to find an appropriate nickname to call you. If you can, try not to snap at our newest friend." Droping back a bit from Nathan's side, he was now walking beside the mercenary, managing to look grim and disappointed at the same time.
"I'm sorry about my companion, he's just...reluctant to relay on others. The boy wants to do it all himself, but is reasonably unable to, so he looks for strong, reliable people to assist him. Just be patient with him, and he'll warm up as you go on to prove your prowess," Ventus whispered to him, trying not to be overheard by Nathan. He wants to cheer up his mecernary, but he doesn't strain an already precarious relationship with Nathan.
*Now back to the hive!*
Listening to the other's conversation, Ventus just shrugged his shoulder when asked for his opinion. "I do think following the dripping noise is the best idea at the moment, but I'm also afraid that the Vesipqueen is hiding deeper within this honeycomb structure. We might have to fight the whole hive before we are allowed to get near. I wish we had some gasoline..." Earlier, he had already brought Apsis, and now she was sticking close to his side, careful to avoid the gooy walls of this place. It remembered being stung by a Weedle once, and it did not want a repeat experience!
Nestor Round 3
Fairy Wind
(4) It does!
(4)(2)(4) +1 Dratini is left with 1 hp.
"Dratini, return. Good job on that Wrap, Dratini. We'll work on a defensive move for you next. Madame, I can't believe your Cottonee's finesse with Fairy attacks even while Paralyzed. You've earned this hundred bucks!"
You follow the dripping sound to a 20' pool of honey on the ground. The passive hexagon walls have grown to include a ceiling at this point, and the chamber is lit only with murky orange light. Six Combee rise up individually from the honey like ghosts as you approach. Their sticky wings make a wailing sound instead of the buzzing you are growing used to. Their beady eyes glow in the dim light.
The six Combee look hostile!
Valder (6) +5 = 11
Ventus: (5) + 4 = 9
Combee Initiative: (3) + 2 Dex + 2 Survival = 7
Larry: (4) +3 = 7
Nathan: (1) + 4 = 5
Geodude: (3) +2 = 5
(this means that I start, right? what's the +5 for though, I don't remember reading about it.)
"These are hostiles! Pawniard, use Faint Attack!"
Move: Faint attack
Accuracy: -- (can't miss at least)
Power: 3 + 2 + 1 (thx windows)
order?: Use faint attack until Pawni's HP reaches to 2 or 1, if it does swap out to ghastly.
(I'm really not quite sure if I'm formating this correctly)
Hissing at the Combee's sudden appearance, Apsis reared up to its full height, in an attempt to get them back off. Seeing as they were not persuaded to do so, it scrunched back up, prepared to lash out at any Combee that go to close. Glancing sharply down at his Ekans, Ventus calmly, but firmly spoke to her. "Apsis, be calm. This is a swarm, yes, but we have the support of our comrades. Paralysis and Poison Sting are not going to be effective here with these numbers, so use Leer until all enemy combatants defenses are lowered, then start to tear into the Combees with Bite. Prioritize targets that have already taken damage from our allies, when possible," the researcher said, wishing more than ever that they had an accelerant. With both the sticky honey and easily flammable Bug types, this whole structure would have been taken care of much more quickly!
Order: Have Apsis use Leer until all the enemies are affected by it, then it will start using Bite on the Combee. It will target those with damage and/or pain penalization over those without it.
Mechanics:
Leer
Accuracy Pool: Pool 3
DEX (1) + Fight (2) + Intimidate (0)
Effect: Lower all enemy targets Defense by 1
Bite
Accuracy Pool: Pool 3
DEX (1) + Fight (2) + Brawl (0)
Damage: STR + 2 - Vitality (1)
Effect: *Flitch 3*

Valder turns to Larry, "Your crush... do you like... love her? Do you have strong feelings for her?" Valder blushed at his own questions. "I mean... nvm. Where does she live, far away?" Valder was surprised at his own curiousity. 'why would I care about that' he mused quietly to himself.
"well she lives in the same region that I do, Tenno (Tennessee based) and what you where talking about earlier, yeah I love her, she can play violin in the most beautiful way and her skills at training are beyond what I could say and how she looks is more than words could say her eyes are like diamonds blue shiny and beautiful, her smile is like a freshly laid snow, and her hair is like gold flowing from the most beautiful fountain, she is also the most kind and sweet girl I've ever met so yeah I guess I love her" Larry replies as he continues searching for the combee wall and a hat

Its your DEX + Survival score added together. Both of those are added to your initiative roll to determine when you go. Oh, and you Attack does STR + 2 + STAB (1) (I checked the PokeRoles rule book for you mate, so I have your back~!) Oh, and Accuracu for move is DEX + Fight + Brawl. Its important to list it out, as even though Faint Attack never misses, the number of successful accuracy rolls you get determines whether or not the hit is critical. 5 Success is typically average, but Super Luck, Focus Energy, Scope Lens, and High Crit moves all lower the amounts of success needed (and they stack too!).
"Brilliant job, Cottonee, indeed! Knew that you wouldn't disappoint me~" As Dratini has removed itself from the fluffball and returned to its owner, Shiva picked up her Pokemon, and genly petted it in approval. Such a will to fight from an innocent wad of cotton must be rewarded!
Boost moves seem be a worthy enrichment in a move pool, if pulled up at the right time... Guess she began to understand why the Veterans are rather fond of them. Going to keep this in mind.
She turned towards Nestor, honestly delighted about the battle's outcome. "Thanks a bunch for the practical battle! Hope you were able to enjoy it as much as I did, and could learn from it."
"Also, do tell me, where do you have that Dratini from?" There it was again, that sparkle in her eye behind the glasses...
(Any XP for this Encounter?)
More monkey business! But with bees this time?

'Shoot, the queen's probably where the buzzing was coming from, instead. Of course the worker bees are the ones close to the honey...well, that's why I'm not a bee keeper, I guess...and if these combee want a fight, they're going to get one!'
"Ralts, I need you to get in your pokeball. This is getting too dangerous." Ralts is definitely somewhat afraid of these bugs. Not to the point of panicking, but enough that he readily agrees to return to the pokeball as soon as Nathan suggests it. Nathan recalls his partner, and then looks at Swiftfire. "Alright girl, there's a lot of enemies here. Even with your advantage, they could overwhelm us with sheer numbers.
Use Growl to minimize the threat level, and then blast them with Ember repeatedly!"
Order: Start with Growl, and then spam Ember in the following turns!
Accuracy:
- Growl: 3 Dexterity + 0 Perform + 1 Fight = 4 D6
- Ember: 3 Dexterity + 1 Fight + 1 Canalize -2/3 Multiple Actions = 3/2 D6
Damage: 2 Power + 2 Strength + 1 STAB + 1 Super Effective = 5 D6 + 1 Damage
Effect:
- Growl: Lower all opponents' strength by 1
- Ember: Burn 1 (1 D6)
