"Yeah...I think you right. Thank you again. Well...I suppose we should go. The day is still long, and we have things to be sell, and meetings to attend to. Shall we?"

(Yes, let's go mate! Let's continue the day.)

The sounds of plates clinking can be heard from the kitchen as Daxter and Karen enter the rather empty mess hall.  A Vanillite looks over the counter and notices them come in, then looks into the kitchen and yells, "Hey boss, looks like we've got company!"

Coldwell comes floating out of the kitchen moments later to greet the two pokemon approaching.  "Ah, if it isn't our petit new recruits!  So, what brings you to moi kitchen today?"

"Actually, we had a question, Coldwell.  Have you heard anyone in the guild talking about humans recently?"

Coldwell looks at the small Ralts curiously when she asks that.  "Well, that is a very interesting question, mademoiselle.  Why do tue ask this of moi?"

Karen hesitates slightly and looks towards Daxter expectantly.  "Um...Daxter, do you want to tell him?"

"Ah, the Guildmaster asked us if we knew anything about it, so we decided to look into it a little more. My friend and I got the feeling that she wasn't telling us everything, so we were hoping you might be willing to give us a little more information. I figured that if anyone knows, it'd probably be you or Kangaskhan because a restaurant owner usually hears all sorts of rumours. You willing to help us, mate?"

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 10-16-2020

Floette nods enthusiastically at Kee's deduction.  "Yup, that's them!  They're some of the most skilled treasure hunters and Explorers from the Grass Continent!  Not sure why they pay us a visit every so often, if I'm being honest, but it's always great to see them drop by!"

----------------------------------------------------

A meal at Café Connection with Chestnuts in it will cost 75 Poké.  They have to import the Chestnuts from the Air Continent, which bumps the price up a little compared to apples and berries.

As for general chatter in the establishment, Kee once again overhears Sandslash and Hippowdon talking about recent events.

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 10-16-2020

Coldwell nods, a look of understanding on his face.  "Ah, I see, I see.  Oui, the Guildmaster has many secrets.  If she didn't say anything herself, it was probably for good reason.  As for moi, I can certainly say there's been quite a lot of chatter in this dining hall about ze recent sightings of those strange lights.  Team Artificers seemed especially interested, though I didn't quite catch ze details of what they were discussing."

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 10-16-2020

Cofagrigus is very excited to see Pyra and Kogeki presenting Gold Bars to him.  "Ah, is that what I think it is?  Gooooooooold?!  Yes, yes it iiiiiiissssss!  Give it to meeeeeee, and I shall reward you handsoooooooomlyyyyyyy!  The moooooooorrrrrre you have, the mooooooorrrre I can prooooovide!"

Cofagrigus has two options for exchanging Gold Bars:

1. Cash for Gold:  Cofagrigus will pay 555 Poké per Gold Bar exchanged.

2. Gold for Items: Cofagrigus has many hard to find items for sale, but he'll only part with them in exchange for Gold Bars.  Nobody's quite sure where he gets them from, but he always seems to have everything he offers in stock no matter how much everyone purchases.

- 1 Gold: 1 Mini Donut (gives a small amount of exp when consumed)
- 2 Gold: 1 Reviver Seed
- 2 Gold: 1 Donut (gives a moderate amount of exp when consumed)
- 3 Gold: 1 Mega Donut (gives a large amount of exp when consumed)
- 4 Gold: 1 Perfect Apple
- 5 Gold: 1 Sweet Chocolate (boosts 1-2 random specialties that are able to be increased and under 3 permanently)
- 6 Gold: 1 Lucha Token (can be exchanged at Hawlucha's Slam School to unlock a pokemon's Hidden Ability when it is reopened)
- 7 Gold: 1 Four-Leaf Cookie (boosts 3-4 random specialties that are able to be increased and under 3 permanently)
- 9 Gold: 1 Vitamin of your choice (HP Up, Protein, etc.)
- 10 Gold: 1 Excavation Looplet (makes it easier to find buried treasure such as gold bars when held)
- 2-5 Gold: Various other Looplets with various effects when held

"If you ever come acrooooooooss rare treasures or items that yoooooooou might want to use again, but looooooose or expend them, I alsoooooo have a knack for findiiiiiiiing things.  Foooooooor the right priiiiice, ooooof coooooourse."

For example, since the party has obtained a TM for the move Bulk Up, additional copies may also be purchased from Cofagrigus with Gold.  A TM for Bulk Up costs 2 Gold, for example.

(If Treasure Boxes are the gacha system, then gold bars are the premium currency!  ;P )

When Pyra goes to sell the Gold Ribbons to the Kecleon brothers, a Machop that seems to be in a hurry bumps into her on the street, causing her to drop her bag.  The contents spill onto the ground, the golden items glittering in the sunlight.

"Oh, I'm so terribly sorry!  Here, let me help you with that!"

The Machop picks the bag up and starts putting things back into it, and their eyes go wide when they see the Big Nugget and the 2 Gold Ribbons.  It's all very quickly stuffed back into the bag once they see Pyra eying them carefully, though.

"Uh, here.  Gotta go, late for work, bye!"

The Machop runs off and out of town surprisingly quickly after handing the bag and its contents back to Pyra.

As for the Kecleon brothers, they're more than happy to buy the 2 Gold Ribbons from Pyra for the same price they purchased the one from Kee for: 2500 Poké each.

Quote:Also, is Pyra hungry or have any other needs/feelings in the moment? Because those might have to be taken care of sooner rather than later depending on what she decides to do with her time.

Not yet since it's still a little early in the day, but she will have to have something to eat eventually.  If she's not going anywhere out of town, though, it's not much of a concern because the Guild offers that one free meal a day (which is the bare minimum for getting through the day without feeling any side effects from hunger when not adventuring to a far away Mystery Dungeon).

Once Cofagrigus finished his sales pitch Pyra would blink her eyes in thought before turning to happily/helpfully offer her other Gold Bar to Kogeki. Now that she knows roughly how valuable G.B. , she feels that her previous trade with her friend was a bit unequal and so wishes to 'balance the scales' , so to speak. That, and she knew that he desire to learn Bulk Up for himself, so why not give him way to learn it ASAP?

(...)

Now normally Pyra isn't the suspicous or paranoid sort (outside of Mystery Dungeons), but she was also not completely oblivous to others reactions and tells. Seeing Machop's visible surprise and nervous/antsy haste to get away from her set off all sorts of warning bells off in her head, especially after hearing from Kogeki about how their was a criminal organization afoot in Sahra. As such she was very wary going to the Kecleon brothers , and upon selling them she'd politely requested one of them (or get one of their friends) escort her to Kang's Cafe to deposit her Big Nugget with them, citing her Encounter with that Machop and the news of aforementioned criminal organization sulking about.

If they say no, she'd make haste to Marcus if he was close by enough and ask them for help to Kang's and also to Duskull's Bank if she could directly deposit everyone's cut off the Gold Scarves ($1250, since Pyra isn't taking any) directly into their accounts. If he isn't close or willing to help.....welp, she'll have to figure something else instead.....

Kogeki look around the place with curiosity. When he see Confagrigus offers he was interested in either get the copy of Bulk Up or maybe that donut. He then see Pyra offer him the other Gold bar, and after a second he accepted and said. "Thank you Pyra."

"A copy of Bulk Up TM please. Want to learn myself too."

With the copy of Bulk Up in his hands, he checked the Item, and use it right away. Let's see what kind of effect this item have in Kogeki.

I'm very sorry that I didn't end up posting here as originally intended! (>o< ) Personal issues prevented me from doing so.
Kee's last actions: https://pokemonuranium.co/forum/showthread.php?tid=2617&pid=74987#pid74987

*Nomnomnomnom* These Chestnuts have rather quickly became Ziggy Kee's favorite food source, that crispy and crunchy consistency of them is such a pleasant contrast to the soft and chewy texture of Apples and Berries!~ Hummm, but if they have to import them here at Kanga's Cafe... That must mean they naturally don't grow around here, do they? Maybe they can be found in Mystery Dungeons though...? Hopefully!~

That gossip from Sandslash and Hippowdon is what almost makes the colorful crittercoon jump and choke on his meal - ALMOST, as he makes it to prevent that just barely to not raise any weird look and/or suspicions. The inner curiosity of the Pokemon within him is literally begging him to run over to their table and ask them a whole truckload of questions concerning these ominous events they're chatting about, but his inner human does their very best to prevent that. It's not visible on the outside, but right here as Kee continues to eat, two mindsets are having an epic battle right there in his head.

Once having finished eating, having stretched and quick-cleaned himself, he makes his way up to Kangaskhan, approaching her in a chipper and lowkey manner. Nothing about him expresses that...lingering worry that Kee can feel making its way slowly into the tips of every hair of his. "Good mornin' Kanga!~☆", he greets her alongside a salute, "Thankies for tha fine meal once 'gain!!1 Got some neat Items I'd wish to place 'nto yar safe and fine hands once moar, if I may... But FIRST, can I actually ask ya somethin'? Somethin'...concerning this world."

Cofagrigus snatches the gold bars out of Kogeki's hands with a pair of his own spectral limbs, and offers Kogeki the TM with a third.  "Heeeeere yoooooou gooooooo!  If you ever find more gloooooorioooooous goooooooold, briiiiiing it to meeeeee!"

When Kogeki learns the move, he gains the same knowledge of how to do more than just look Tough.  However, he doesn't hear any kind of voice like Pyra did.

Well, Pyra doesn't know where Marcus is, so it's the Kecleon brothers or bust!  The two Kecleon are going to need some convincing to leave their shop, though, so let's roll to see if Pyra's argument is sufficient.

3 Smart + 2 Logic + 0 Contest + 0 Empathy = 5d6
(5)(2)(3)(2)(1) 1 Success

Given the subject matter and how good of a customer Pyra and her friends have been (and likely will be in the future with all that cash), the purple Kecleon will escort her to Café Connection, no additional roll required (this time).  "It wouldn't do at all to have such wealth stolen, right brother?"

"No it wouldn't, brother.  I'll watch the shop.  You keep an eye out for thieves.  If any dare to make a move on our paying customers, they shall know just how fatal a mistake they've made!"

"Of course, brother!  Pyra, I shall you watch you from the shadows until you're in the café!  Do not fear!"

And with that, purple Kecleon vanishes from sight instantaneously!  Pyra is able to make it to Café Connection without further incident, and she arrives soon after Kee gets his answer from Kangaskhan.

-----------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, the proprietor of the café is more than happy to store Kee's items, though she gives Kee a curious look when he asks what she thinks about humans and the recent rumors.

"Well, I can't say I either believe or disbelieve those rumors, dearie.  Seeing strange in the sky is odd, but they could be something else entirely.  Even if they do turn out to be humans, though, I've heard from my cousins on other continents that they're actually quite nice.  I don't see a reason to be as superstitious as most of the residents of the Sahra Town, to be perfectly honest.  Though I can hardly blame them for being wary.  You're a bit too young to know why, though, of course.  It was before your time.  The past is the past, however, and I see no reason to dwell on it.  And I'm more than happy to serve anyone that enters my establishment if they aren't causing trouble for the townsfolk."

It's then that Pyra enters the café to deposit her items, and the Parent pokemon is quick to pick up on how agitated the Devimp is.

"Well hello there, dearie!  Yes, I can absolutely hold onto that item for you.  Did something happen, though, dearie?  You can rest easy knowing your items are safe with me, so no need to look so wary."
