Nintendo continues its fight against gamers
#81
Just one question I would like to ask: Why? Just...why? Why Nintendo are going to such lenghs against Palworld? Its a true good fun game. I buy and played myself. I didn't had this kind of fun in a monster collect games in like...years. Not even in the recently Pokemon games! Why Nintendo just...shut up, leave Palworld alone and just work in a honestly good Pokemon game? Or leave others to make good games, instead of burn even more customer bridges trust even more? Can someone please PLEASE just tell me why? It got to the point where Pocketpair had to remove the mechanic of throw your Pals in the battefield because of that Patent (and I hate it).

Or rather, here a better option: Is there any chance of Palworld succeed? Japan worships old corporations, and the trial will happen on Japan. I fear about Palworld future, and if the game have any chance of survival, or will nintendo will win again as the piece of shit of corporation she is?
Kogeki currently ability to active in battles: Anticipation.

Most likely because Sony is backing Palworld, and Nintendo sees that as a business threat.  My posts on the previous page have a link to an actual lawyer's take on why that might be the case, and why Nintendo is specifically pursuing a patent infringement instead of of copyright.  The tldw is that Nintendo would likely have left Palworld alone if Sony hasn't started helping Palworld expand into a multimedia brand ala Pokemon.

There's a very real chance that Pocketpair might be able to beat the lawsuit (see their continued insistence that they are going to see this case through to its end), but it won't be easy for them.

Got another video on the Nintendo vs Palworld patent infringement you guys can watch if interested.  It has a similar conclusion to Moon Channel's video, but it's from the perspective of a game designer and aspiring businessman rather than a lawyer.  He also goes a little into what he thinks is being claimed to be infringing on said patents, and there's some nice discussion on that in the video's comments.

Here's the link to said video. (Warning: it's an hour long)

Also, Golden Owl puts out some really nice content talking about various games design elements.  Would recommend checking some of that out if that kind of thing sounds interesting to learn about.
