So. Naturally I cannot know whether and how many of this forum's people (on that note, hi there!) are into Internet Mysteries and Strange Real-Life Mysteries like I am, but...

...via Youtube I received word yesterday that a Mystery that remained a, well, Mystery for roughly fourty years has been solved, on the 4th of November the solution has been found by one person who remained on the case. It's the so-called 'Most Mysterious Song of the Internet', one that neither the artist nor the song's name were known at all ever since. That song is what I'm talking about:

Welp, after the closure of the eshops, it was inevitable I suppose. F in the chat for official support for Gen 6 and 7 GTS and Wonder Trade. And a bunch of other games that still saw a lot of online activity due to the online features being integral to the experience (like Monster Hunter 3U; 4U; and Generations, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Super Smash Bros 4, Mario Kart 7...)

According to Serebii, Pokemon Bank will still be supported past the initial shutdown, but it's inevitably going to die eventually as well. Guess I need to figure out if there's anything I want to transfer up to Home from the pre-Home games soon.

I'm sure dedicated fans are going to try and preserve as many of these online features as they can (just like with the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection of old), but this still sucks.

Well, we are now slightly more than a month away from the release of Generation IX. What are everyone's thoughts on the new games?

Personally, even though the graphics look fantastic, Pokemon Legends: Arceus/Shining Pearl *will* be the last official game that I play for Pokemon, for the following reasons:
1.) It just seems to me that Game Freak isn't quite sure where they want to take Scarlet and Violet, and are cramming a lot of different things into it, from some Far Cry-style gameplay (Taking over the villainous team's bases), some traditional JRPG gameplay and other shenanigans. Cramming essentially 3 games into one doesn't necessarily make the product better. >_>
2.) They *still* seem to not want to put all the Pokemon into the game, with a current leak stating only 400 of the extant creatures (around 100 of them being new) being in the new games. They were able to put all the ones that existed as of Sun and Moon and US/UM into those games, so no excuses other than money-grubbing, hoping people will continue to use Pokemon Home for 'mons not supported.

Yo! I’m a new user, old player, and I want to talk about a stupid thing, so I’m talking about it. There is a whole world of completeness and contentment for me in Pokémon, removing the pain and sadness of life. That is why I come here. Pokémon Uranium is all very new to me, in an exciting way. There is no introduction thread, so I am greeting you with my thoughts instead, and shall then look around for a thread. My old forum was a writing forum, I was in a spot of bother. After that I got sick and had to go to hospital. Then my parents broke up, then I felt like a bit of a Pokémon. So there is the truth that I am dying, but there is the truth Pokémon Uranium is something special, therefore appealing to me and my health, which I love, and my old forum became my second life, so I hope to greet you all too, with the bounty that it is. I am not a proud person, but my forum felt like school, or sleep overs, and I was happy there. For unknown reasons, people are sometimes assholes. For some, it is good, for some, it is better moving on, but I like to think that my hardship taught me to be compassionate and honest, in most modern ways. Pokémon is a nuance, like writing, and forums die, and people become cagey. I don’t know why I am reaching out again, but in life, there are obstacles and boundaries, and family life, is much like friends moving on, or the community bailing on you. So, you can talk to me about any of that, and we can have a good time. Have you seen a forum or community die, for some unknown reason? And are you positive or negative about it? Do you see it for the future of Pokémon Uranium? This is a newer forum, so it became my choice, because of the thriving demographic.

There's no thread about this on this semi-dead forum, so I thought I'll just make one now. Share thoughts, fears, opinions, viewpoints if desired, I'm curious to listen and wanted to give them a platform here.

I'll start: Things are serious, yes, but things still feel so...surreal for me. Maybe because not much's really different; I tend to wash my hands relatively often anyway and rarely ever leave the house unless I must, so if the curfew comes, I wouldn't mind too much.

It has been a long time since I first came here, asking for advice on my broken save file. I am a lonely person, finding it hard to make friends and connect with people, but I try everywhere I find myself. I was ready to meet new people and find my niche. But, there was few people on anymore (although I didn't know it). I tried reaching out, trying to trade with people, trying to make friends. But it did not work...

PhantomUnderYourDesk, I bred you a shiny Eevee, hoping that you would be my friend. But, in November, you stopped replying to my messages or looking at anything I posted. I wonder if I said or did anything to cause that!
CodySP, thank you for helping me with my save file, it has enabled me to help many suffering souls on Reddit with issues they have.
Spiritmon, I'm sorry for frightening you by my irritated comment a little while ago (I didn't know my words could frighten anyone!). Thank you for listening to me and all the other things you've done for me, although what they were escapes me at the moment. You have been very nice in offering the shiny lv100 near-perfect-stat Beliaddon, although there's nothing I can give you in exchange that would be worth it for you...
TheTainted_Wisdom, I've read everything you've posted, heard many of your ideas and opinions, and received several wonderful pokemon friends from you. Your friendship has been invaluable to me, it has definitely helped me feel less alone in the world, and frankly, you're the reason I'm not leaving this forum forever to more active Pokemon Uranium areas (like Reddit).

I have noticed that there is almost no activity everywhere on this forum save for the roleplaying section. Therefore, I have an announcement. I will join the many who have left this forum for unknown reasons. I won't just disappear, though. I'll still ghost on and off, seeing how things are going, but I will no longer comment or post anything from now on. If anyone wants to trade with me or anything, they'll have to post it where I will be willing to reply. I don't have discord (and won't for a currently unknown length of time) so don't look for me there.

I am tired of being largely ignored. Nothing that any of you say or do will prevent me from leaving. I am sorry it has to be this way, but this is all my fault. It is my fault for coming on a largely silent forum, naively thinking a lot of people were on here normally, and expecting to make friends with at least one person within the first 3-6 months, and trade with many more.

With that out of the way, I have a little confession to make. If any of you noticed that it was my birthday, sometime in August, well...... I lied. That's not my real birthday. And my age? That's not my real age, either. I chose both at random. And don't ask my birthday or my age either, because if I don't lie to you about it, I probably won't tell you. It's a little personal preference.

I'm not angry at anyone on this forum. I will find people that enjoy (or at least don't mind) my company, eventually. I am now finished. This is the last post I will make, the last comment I will have, on this forum. I knew it would come to this eventually, I just didn't know when. I'm not deleting any of my comments or posts that have been previously made. I'm not quitting Pokemon Uranium. I'm not even slowing down on what I do on there. But, I am quitting here. Halloween already passed, but this is still appropriate considering it's me

Anyway, if any of my old friends recall, last I was around was over a year ago, and I was talking about translating my stories into English... "What happened?" You may wonder, "Why did [I] went off the grid again after that?"

Well, the short answer is: Life happened.

As for the long and detailed version of my adventures and mishaps, here goes:

I started on what I promised. I really did. But then I got a wee bit stuck, and then I got notified by my landlord at the time that I was being kicked out (I didn't do anything wrong, they just needed the space for personal reasons). So that's the first thing that happened.

Then I failed an exam because it was hard as all hell, and I clearly was not prepared enough.

Then because of a problem with the university's registration system (which my uni staff still keep denying and blaming it all on me instead, btw), there was a whole lot of complications for me to sort through.

Amidst it all, I met my new/current best friend, who shares my passions, dreams, and worries about writing and the future of literature in general. And we started a Facebook group whose aim is to help young writers write "the old fashion way" through proper and thorough researches and experiences, prioritizing the quality of the craft instead of trying to get views and forcing yourself to publish low-quality chapters every day. That group lasted around a year, with both of us putting a lot of effort into it. But eventually, and quite recently actually, we closed it down as we realized we need to first earn/gain some gravity for the things we say before we attempt to change anyone's mind, especially young minds who are obsessed with virtual views and virtual fame.

So I was busy on a whole lot of fronts, finding a new place to stay and moving there, studying, writing, running a Facebook group, solving issues that determine whether or not I can graduate or flunk out.

It wasn't until a week ago that I bother to log Discord or forum. I'm not entirely back this time, either, still a lot of business and complications to sort through. Just dropping by to say hello!

There's no gentle way to say this, so I will just plainly state it: Youtuber Etika has be found dead after being missing for a week, and the cause of death was suicide. From what I gathered, his negative experience with social media drove him to do it. Personally, I never knew about him until I learnt of his suicide just recently, but that doesn't stop me from being upset and ashamed of what happened. The fact that part of his community did that to him, lead him to such a state of mind that he felt resigned to failure and death......that is just wrong.

I won't link any videos about out of respect to him, but I will say this: he will not be forgotten, and I will not let such behavior that drove him to suicide happen.
