Oo, Dive makes it worth it all on its own.

"And what do you like to eat, Cruz? Aquatic plants? Berries? Uh, fuel?"

Negative responses to the plants, though the mention of fuel does cause it to tilt its body before nodding. Looking a bit more closely at the info packet you got on it, you find it'll accept Type Gems to get a quick burst of power if passive/active generation from its hydro/mist Drive is not sufficient. Also can let it siphon electricity off the grind, though it is very reluctant to do so unless 'starved' or desperate for power.

"Alrighty, here's the bonding activity: an aquatic triathlon between Cruz and Pwee! I'll be riding you, Cruz, so you don't get jealous. Munchlax can be the passenger on Pwee." (triggering Pick Up)

"Race 1: Surfing. Out to that buoy and back here."
"Race 2: Beach race, running in shallow water. No use of HMs allowed!"
"Race 3: Eating race!! Cruz, I'd like you to swim along the flooded street, chopping up any algae or aquatic plants with your propellors. Pwee will follow behind, eating up all the nicely diced salad! Points are deducted if you chop up anything valuable. Pwee loses points if he ingests anything inedible. See if you can chop and dice faster than the big Lotad can eat." Pwee gets the Razor Fang to help with biting.

That shadowy form easily keeps up with Cruz, unimpeded by obstacles, and Vernon feels safe no matter how wild the swimming elephant gets.

Addendum: "The known lore about your kind says you love to help people who truly need aid, and that you like to ferry them to safety - you and Pwee have that in common!"

Vernon doesn't add that no one likes to ride as much as he himself - it's surely self-evident in the way he hangs on for dear life during reckless maneuvers but never panics, just continues to enjoy himself.

Pwee doesn't seem terribly motivated at first to participate in any racing, but with a bit of persuasion (Read: Food) you get them to cooperate. Cruz, on the other hand...

L: (4) + 3
D: (1)(1)(3)(1)(5)(1) ...Well okay then....

...Actually seems pretty interested once you begin phrasing it in more technical/performance based terms (less 'fun' , more 'test machine's capabilities against others') , with the metallophant scooping you up and seating you in an instant as they prepared to race off against Pwee!

Oh, and Munchlax is chill with everything - though he ends up almost losing his lunch several times due to...

Race 1
Cruz: (3)(5)(5) + (3)(6)(4)(1)(3)(1) + (3)(1)(2)(2)(4)(5)
Pwee: (2)(2) + (2)(5)(6)

Splzoooooooooom!

Before you realize it you and Cruz already won, blitzing from and to the buoy with such bracing, thrilling speed you could swear your heart was going a mile a minute! Meanwhile Pwee couldn't even get a 1/3 of the way to the buoy before you Pseudo-Boat finished, nearly getting capsized (along with Munch!) by the IMMENSE wake it generated.

Test concluded: Cruz was a fricking jet cruiser on top of being JUST a living battle boat.

Race 2 goes just as well as the first - if a bit more evenly paced (Pwee still had zero chances) - but Race 3 is where it gets interesting.....

You giant lily duck, getting more of a workout than he first imagined and quite dispirited, almost immediately began to salivate at the thought on dinning on the aquatic plant life that washed into the city. Cruz, though confused with the concepts, never the less prepared to follow the orders, considering it an odd way to 'clear the waterways for transport' ...

Race 3!
Cruz Chopping: (1)(5)(4)(1)(6) + (1)(1)(1)(5)(6)(2) + (2)(4) (4)(2)(1)(4) - 3 Success trying something odd and being 'careful' =  2 Successes
Pwee: (3)(6)(6)(5) + (5)(5) + (5)(1)(2)(5) + 1 Success for FOOOOOD! = 8 Successes!

When food is being bet on, it seems like Pwee can not be beat. He HANDILY outpaces the pontoon pachyderm, gobbling down any and ALL edible plant matter and other yum yum while leaving all the other crud behind. Cruz can barely keep up, having to 'gas' it several times and tearing up quite a few nice looking things (and parts of the scenery/buildings - opps!) just to do so!

By the end of this race Pwee is almost catatonic in blissful, glutenous joy, while Cruz looks....frustrated in itself and not a little miffed.

Munchlax, in all the EXCITEMENT, managed to Purse that had a Pear Necklace in it ($2000 Poke)  few Ultra Balls within it + some Poffins! ID too, if you feel inclined to track the person down and return their lost property!

Bond GREATLY increased Bond with Pwee! GREATLY increased Temp Health (+5!)
Bond mildly increased with Cruz. Looking like they're about having a temper tantrum too about the last race - better act fast before some buildings (and you!) get trashed!

Oops, should have done the races in the other order to protect fragile egos!

"Cruz, Munchlax found this lost purse in the water. I'm worried the owner might be in trouble. How fast can we get to this address? People don't just leave a full purse behind... what if she got swept away in the water or something?"

Munchlax is transferred to the second seat on the pontoon, and Pwee is recalled for now - although if it comes to battle, Vernon will swap those two to take advantage of the +5 temp health.

Soothing Egos Check!
INS + Survival + Nature + 1 Success (PASSANGER IN NEED?)
(2)(6)(5) + (2)(5) + (4)(3)(4) 6 Successes
Cruzing for a Bruising!
Disobedience + Will + 1 (Sore Loser)
(5)(3)(5)(4)(2) + (6)(4)(1)(5)(3) + (4) 7 Successes, Bare Victory....

You manage to get a *SMACK!* across the face for your trouble by their trunk, almost knocking you of it entirely, but in the end they simply settle down into a only slighlty grumpy mood, completely disinterested in the rescue take you offered. Your PC takes 2 Lethal Damage, and is Concussed - essentially Confusion, but you need to treat the Lethal Damage first before you can cure it like Confusion; Cruz has successfully been Calmed without causing a mess

Considering this was a HIGHLY dangerous and Disobedient Mon, everything turned out remarkably well in the end. Now to deal with this painful headache, ow ow OW....!

Reminder: Treating Lethal Damage doesn't restore HP, but just eliminates the Lethal Damage decreasing your Max HP. In this Case if you treat his injuries with a Super Potion he would have 7/9 HP (2 HP Heal = 1 LD Removed) .

The old man puts his fishing rod away and gets up - and for the first time you realize how large he was. Taller than an Ursaluna on its paws and just as built, though a lot of that physique is conceal by the puffy, flowing nature of his clothing.

"Follow me, dear.  Let's get you to Bayhama, Swift as a shooting star."

He begins walking towards the beach, leaving you to catch up. He does turn to look back to you, however.

"And I think you'd be fine company. I'll give you my number, so we can stay in touch."

You're lead to a clear spot to the beach. There, the man reaches into his robes, pulling out an worn Pokeball, and with a flick of the Seal an Medicham materilizes right in front of you, already in a meditative pose. They looked just as old as their Trainer, yet you didn't have to be Psychic to know they were brimming with vim and Vitallity. The old man walks over to their partner and pats them on the shoulder before looking at you.

"Medicham here can Teleport you to Bayhama. Before that, though..."

The old man reaches inside his billowy shirt, and pulls out a Pokepack.

"Here. Just a little something I put together, to help you get back on your feet."

Within it contained an old Rotom Phone, 10x Potions, 5x Super Potions, 2x Hyper Potions, 1x Full Restore, 5x Revives, 1x Max Revive, 5 of each Status Berry, 3 Ethers, 10x Luxuray Balls, a TM for Hidden Power, and $25000 Poke. The pack itself shrinks to your size and is easily attached to your being.

He gives you his number before handing the phone over with a warm, ever welcoming smile.

"There you go. Whenever you're ready, just say the word. It has been nice meeting you, Espeon. Safe travels, and bright living."

Sylvia gives a nod to the Medicham when it is released, immediately checking her psychic aura to prevent entanglements. She accepts the Pokepack graciously, not doing more than a cursory once-over of the largest of its pouches - it would be rude to take full inventory, she believes, of a gift.
When he hands over the phone with that comforting smile, she replies: It has been a pleasure to meet you as well. Please, call me Sylvia - is there a name you would go by?

She responds to his reply with courtesies before thanking him once again and turning towards the Medicham, taking a small breath, and then: I'm ready. And if you could, to Kupo Koffee, please.

Akamu heya! Oz here! Wanted to ask you if you are okay and if you had any problems with that gang again. And see if you are okay too. We didnt had enough time to chat between us, and since we gonna travel together for a while, I wanted to...you know...chat a little maybe? How you been doing these last days?

Hello! Haven't seen those chumps around much, me getting caught up in all kinds of weirdness lately hasn't helped matters, going places they could never follow me in. The way I see it it's good preperation for the eventual trip through the wilds, with a weird sense of humor I have to say. How about you? I havent heard that much from most of the chosen since that first meeting aside from the occasional message, though they are bound to be busy with their own kind of Sutalörian weirdness.
