''We can do this the easy or the hard way buddy, you decide.'' RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 05-18-2025 (05-18-2025, 01:01 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: On Bernard's end, 'Myra' leaned into his embrace and gave him a somewhat peeved but ulitimately compassionate nuzzle-cuddle back, 'her' heart calmed just a bit from all the sordid drama from earlier. 'She' also indicated that, if you were so gracious and Willing to tolerate it and her continued MOOD despite your forgiveness, 'she' would like to go to a Saloon to be pampered like the rightful queen 'she' is - these were Myra's not so hidden desires that were communicated by....them. Bernhard's honestly somewhat...sceptical about Myra's request. He's not very fond of the idea, and gives Myra a look™ - What the golden kistune requests sounds more like it'd be something a member of the Radicals would do, which members he kinda looks down on and disapproves of ("Damnit, we're not like these common 'Trainers' who literally and figuratively drown their Pokemon in love and affection, get that into your thick head!! Why would you use - and love, ugh - a Pokemon that is a lost cause magicwise?? Whyyyyy do you let your Pokemon fight themselves if you have your Gauntlet to channel their powers??", he would always say to these fraction's members, if they are are that unlucky to cross Bern's path). Eventually, he just lets out a sigh. If it's for Myra, if it makes her happy, and - most importantly - if it makes her feel better about that dramatic and sordid Foxy Event... "....Very well then. You shall be taken to a Saloon - You do have my word on this. I'll see whether we can find one in Bayhama; if not, alongside the upcoming voyage for sure. .............. I just hope that no one would see me taking you there..." he adds, unheard by Myra. (05-18-2025, 01:13 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Now Bernhard gets a raised eyebrow from Seddi. "Ya feelin' okay, Bernhard? I thought I told ya yesterday that Morgana was takin' over that operation. I've not heard back from any of the still involved parties yet, so your guess as to what she's plannin' to do with that thing is as good as mine right now. You were going to speak to her about it, right?" That likewise receives a look™ from Bern. A stare, actually, as if he currently is looking to find proper words. An overly long stare, and yes he still chokes heavily on the tea upon Seddi dropping her name, and promptly pours himself a third cup. "You did that? Hummm.... *pauses, glances around the room* Well, in that case... My sincere apologies, but THAT must have slipped my mind. Or not have reached me. Or got lost in all the recent events... Oh dear, oh well... Ugh...." Another heavy sigh escapes him, head hanged, and hand on forehead, looking defeated and utterly TIRED and EXHAUSTED. Spritzee promptly leans in for another nuzzle. "Do allow me to be honest, to give you a glimpse of my mood, but I am most certainly NOT feeling okay. So much things have happened the past few days that I never asked for, a man of MY rank and position is busy and occupied with a heavy workload indeed, but have Lady Luck, Father Fate and Miss Fortune ever asked me whether I'm okay with being treated like their favorite plaything? ...The blatant answer is 'No, they have not'." That weird timeskip recently... ...That reminds me, you wanted to look into that, now didn't you? Muse, my most important and trusted partner, being completely out and stuck in an unrestful sleep for a day. She's still not completely recovered, I fear.... Morgana having cancelled our latest... ...business meeting last minute, telling me something 'relevatory' came up. I'm likely to see her later tonight tough, and I shall make sure to ask her about that Wandering Hurricane... Me having caused issues and problems at the docks, and giving a member of the Water Fraction headaches. ...To think about it, I likely made THE WHOLE DOCKS anxious, just because I miiiiight not have wanted to get my own hands dirty just his time. Black Magic, an utterly deadly spell I cast... I think I completely overloaded my Gauntlet, how foolish of me indeed... A surge of loneliness, being left all alone at hospital after me and my trusted partners were close to death... A much peculiar event at Main Street.... (no, Bernhard will refuse to elaborate on that) That festival starting tomorrow, when I would much rather spend the day in peace and quiet... ...I'm TIRED, Seddi. MENTALLY tired. I don't have the energy anymore I had when I was your age. Perhaps, or at least I do hope you, the upcoming voyage will help me find back my purpose, meaning, and place; and help me sort my thoughts. My wanderlust is itching me to go... Uhm... Anway, next topic please. I'm utterly sorry that you have to listen to the rumblings of dear old me... Why am I telling you this in the first place..." RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 05-18-2025 (05-18-2025, 03:42 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: Seddi's eyebrows shoot up for the briefest of moments when Bernhard mentions he cast Black Magic. Well, that explains some things... He just as quickly goes back to being cool as a cucumber though. Not the time nor place for that yet! He sidesteps the topic of Morgana. No need to elaborate on that. Not yet. Due to Sylvia informing him about what happened on Main Street earlier, Seddi already knows about the 'Main Street Incident', so he'll sidestep that topic for now as well. It'll probably come up later though... So, that leaves... "Yeah, I'm still looking for hints of what might have caused that time skip. Pretty certain I won't find anythin', since whatever caused it is likely extremely powerful. I have found another individual who was affected by it though, and a lot more strongly than the rest of us to boot. To put it simply, with everythin' I know about them so far, I'm pretty sure that individual's fate was changed entirely." He sighs and shrugs. "Honestly, it's all a bit much for me too. I'm still truckin' on, though. Sounds like you've had it much worse than I have the past two days, though. Most of the problems I've run into have been small change by comparison." He does not mind in the slightest that Bern is ranting a bit. It's refreshing to hear he's still human too. ...though it is undercut slightly by the infernal magic facilitating this oddly timed and displayed conversation. The noxious monkey slowly looked at the immense unit of a Ground type - who was idly chewing some cud and did not register it as a threat in the slightest - then back at you. It then, with equal care, raised a paw and made a very rude gestures and chittered out what you think was something equally foul, before they're away faster than you can blink! Both you and Kayla's Strength and Special Decrease by 1 due to Parting Shot! Well, you got your treasure quick and without harm, though not without being given a nasty scolding for it. Are you winning, Akamu? That should be it for your Encounter for the day - ready up for Tomorrow and the Festival! As for Lani, we'll get to the lil' fellow tomorrow morn.... Vernon's Charsmia Roll! INS + Survival + Emapthyy (*3) - *1 (Jaded, Cynical, Tired) + 1 Success ('Trust') (1)(5)(3)(4)(3)(6)(2) 4 Successes Another moment passed, as the Lady of the Sea took another drag of her cigar, letting everything sink in like silt to the bottom of the ocean floor. "....You do understand. In your own way...but you do. Trust. Growth. Camaraderie . Many reasons. Good reasons. More than most have when they chart their own course. Learn the Trade, learn the Lore. Find their own Destiny in the World. ....If they ever do at all. " She lets out a long, thick plum of smoke, it curling and twisting in the air let eddies. A tinge, the very slightest, or melancholy was in her voice. "....Very well." The lady puts out her cigar and stuffs it inside her coat pocket, leaning up and crossing her arms as she looked at you. "I'll teach you The Trade. Share my Stories of the Sea. Just enough to dry those ears. Ready you for your own voyages....in this part and the next. In exchange..." She points to you, her already stern expression turning sharper. "Tomorrow, I put you to work. Your entire crew. Run you through your paces, and help my crew get theres. Pay too, if you and your own sweat for it." The salty sea dog opens that same hand to you. "Deal?" RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Mikaruge108 - 05-18-2025 Darren does trust Smore to help, good chance for him to see what she's capable of. (When I'm at my computer tomorrow, I'll update Darren's team, but he swaps Scizor for Smore during the performance) As for traps, Darren's first thought is pitfalls covered with a thin layer of string shot silk RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Iron - 05-18-2025 (05-18-2025, 06:07 PM)Lord Windos Wrote:(05-18-2025, 11:17 AM)Iron Wrote: "That was an insightful guess," says Vernon when he feels a moment of silence has served its purpose, and his thoughts have organized themselves. If not, I'll have to think about it a second, maybe ask what hours you plan to work." "An important question... should I bring Cruferrophant? He's far from fully trained. He does love to be a boat, but honestly I can't truly promise obedience even then." Not busy for the next few days, so finding time to get you started is...flexible." Your question gets a very blunt: "Yes." , followed by: "The training I have in mind is best for all your hands on deck. Direct and demonstrative, you and your Mons. Especially with a Cru. Best way to Bond with them. Show them you are worthy, competent to man their ship. Or are willing to put in the work to be, one day. Hm...don't worry about them causing trouble. They'll behave - one way or another." That's the most you've heard out of the lady at one time - perhaps they're warming up to you! Or they're no longer as busy smoking. Both? RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Iron - 05-18-2025 "I'm not afraid to risk it. Here's my phone number, if you want to contact me. I'll check it out and either get back to you afterward (if the Festival doesn't live up to expectations), or come by the day after... I have this deepseated feeling that what happens there will be important in a sort of, destiny way?" *sigh* "That's been happening a lot lately..." Vernon takes note of the brand and style of tobacco she's smoking. He'll be bringing a proper gift when he returns to start his shift. The old lady nods, accepting your number and agreeing to your sentiment, a her frown taking an more pessimistic edge. "Indeed. Storm's brewing. Big one. Feel it in my bones. *Sighs* We'll weather it, though. Always have, always will. Until the Deep calls me home. *Nods* Good night." For the brand, it's a particularly notorious one that you're only faintly acquainted with (Gardina made sure you knew ALL about ALL the plants): Galarian Smokestacks, or G-Smokes for short. A potent blend of high quality tobacco, G-Weezing toxin 'gum' , and Dragon-Infused Cigar Paper and that burns long, steady, and produces the thickest, most pungent white smoke imaginable. Only for the most veteran of smokers, those that vehemently hate their lungs, or looking to build up a tolerance to other noxious stuff. A box of ten would run you about $1000 Poke, from what you could recall. |
