RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-12-2021

Ahahahahaha, that side path IS intriguing indeed!~ Ziggy Kee staaaaares down the yawning chasm, his deep red eyes captured by the tiny pink lights down there; his tail wagging in excitement and his heart somewhat heavy from standing so close to the cliff's edge. He still doesn't understand why, but he tries to mask it for now.

Quote:"Oh, I dunno.  Could be a lot of things.  But I do know that it looks like it could be valuable!~  Shame that I can't just warp over there and see what it is right now.  Can barely muster the energy to teleport a stone, apparently, let alone teleport myself by swapping locations with one of you lot...ugh...I cannot wait to get my hands on whoever sealed my powers!"

Immediately as the djinn said 'warp over', Kee's head swivels to staaaaare at them now, his tail wagging faster. "Weeeeeell there Hoopa, ya may nat b'able to warp over - BUT ya 'float', you're nat 'specially bound to the ground like we are, are ya?~ Couldn't ya fly over the chasm, examinate that nice pink light in tha opening of the tunnel there a bit, then come back an' tell us what ya found out?~~"

"Well sure, I float, but in case you hadn't noticed, I don't exactly float very high off of the ground.  I'm not one of those fancy birds or Levitating masters that I used to be able to summon on a whim.  Oh, how I wish I could do what they could at times.  It would be so wonderful!~  No more plummeting into bottomless chasms, never to be heard from again!~  But then I remember that using my rings to appear anywhere I like is much, much faster and significantly better at catching the unaware off guard, and my envy all but vanishes in the exact same amount of time it would take to get to where I want to go!~"

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-15-2021

Ah, the more Hoopa talks the more Kee's cheer tunes down until his eager smile has deflated to a downcasted pout. "Then no floating over, fuuuu. ...BUT!! - *back to the eager smile and wagging tail* Damn does it sound useful as heck what ya could do with yar rings!! Would make a ya an invaluable ally, ehehe!~ Shall ya stay with us, I'd tot'lly help ya gettin' yar lost powers back! ( ÒωÓ)و☆"

Kee turns back to the chasm, staaaaring down the cliff as his gaze is captured by the pinpricks of pink lights down there. He eventually retrives one of the coal he picked up shortly ago from his guitar bag, takes aim and throws it down the chasm in an attempt to determine how deep the chasm may be and what happens when the coal hits one of the pinpricks.
(unsure whether this action needs a roll or not. But he tries to hit one of the pinpricks of pink light, so maybe it does?)

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 08-20-2021

Pyra's hostile demeanour towards the Rolycoly doesn't surprise Daxter, but it does definitely annoy him. He stares at her for a few seconds, but shakes his head and chooses to not comment. He turns to the Rolycoly reassuringly. "Don't mind her mate, she's mean to almost everyone. I'll take care of you, don't worry. I don't blame you for working for that Carkol fella. Seemed like a nasty pile of shit. We'll send you back to Sahra Town, and you can just rest there till we get back. We can talk more then, alright?"

At the sight of the chasm, Daxter whistles as he peers over the edge. He turns around, thinking about how to get across the chasm. "Wish I could use Ice Beam to make a bridge or something. Don't really see how we can get across. Maybe we can turn around and try and find another way there? I'd like to check it out, but we don't need a "dive off the bloody cliff" thing again. Still sends a shiver down my spine when I think about how Pyra's arm looked."

Just throwing a rock down a hole?  Nah, no roll.  Trying to hit something in the hole?  Unless we're talking about a fish in a barrel situation, definitely needs a roll.

*rolls*

The dark, black coal disappears into the inky blackness of the dark chasm with the twinkling pink lights.

It takes several seconds, but Kee eventually hears the very faint sound of stone hitting stone echo from the bottom of the abyss.  None of the lights that Kee can see seem to have been affected any.

"Well, I don't think you're getting that piece of coal back, Kee.  Can't even see the bottom, and there definitely doesn't seem to be a safe way down there from here."

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-20-2021

Ziggy Kee continues to staaaaare down the chasm as the piece of coal disappears into it to never be seen again, his tail wagging in eager and his ears pricked up. He *GASPS* lightly when he hears the echo of stone hitting stone. "Nah, got 'nough coal collected, Marcus-dear, one piece more or less won't hurt me!~ ...Climbin' after it there *starrring down the chasm intesifies* however sould, ahahaha... (^v^; ) "

Towards everyone: "Weeeeell, no shortcut 'vailable - seems like if we'd wanna check out
these curious!!1 pink light-thingies, we'd have to take quite the detour! How 'bout we'll press onwards for now, keepin' both eyes open for a p'tential path to cross that chasm?
~ It and tha pink lights won't run away - Machamp, if he's really here, however might. We're here for a mission after aaaaall! (>o< )"

(Metawise, there SHOULD be an easier path to further investigate these curiosities of pinpricks of pink light, me thinks when looking at the current map - I'd be for trying to find it while moving onwards as normally. What are you other's thoughts/ideas/opinions here?)

(Ahahaha.....sorry for such a late post, but Pharmacy School is a BEAST when it comes to eating my time up! Still quite busy at the moment too, so I'll just settle for a quick post and let you all finally move on....)

In regards to the Post-Rolycoly scene: Pyra has no qualms with the little lump of coal getting sent back to the Guild, as that is just one less potential threat the group has to deal with at the moment. Moreover, it means they (the group) has a much better chance of making them (Rolycoly) into a proper, faithful and loyal member of the Team, as the last thing she wants is them 'pulling a Marcus' and abandoning them for abirtary, non-justified, and preventable reasons.

Speaking of whom, the lil' fiendess would be aware of the bonescraftsmon's attention and scrutiny, seeing as she's been just as keenly keeping him in eye and thought ever since his attempt to 'poison' herself and her friends with his tale of ill omen and foolishness. His non-interference in that would warrant a almost casual glance or two from her, but no more than that. As long as he was not stirring up trouble, trying to plant bizarre and foreboding ideas in everyone's head, or make himself more of a nuisance the she-demon could continue to quietly tolerate the oath-bearer's existence.

Karen get's a sympathetic pat on the head for her efforts to reign in Hoopa, while the weakened genie itself gets a deadpan stare for his efforts. For as much as she loved merriment and trickery, there is a time and limit to the amount had, yes yes.

Dax's blithe but cutting remark about her + his accusatory stare earns him a stunned and stiffened smile for a brief moment, before with a small huffing *sigh* she wistfully looked away.

"....Perhaps you are right and correct, Water Salamander Dax. Mayhaps I be too 'mean' and uncaring to others, unwilling to 'give them a chance' like you and most-rest of our friends and allies would. But, yet, a question I have for you: is that wrong and unfair for me, to be and believe that way, or is it just for you?"

She pauses for a second, before her head drops in what could only be described as melancholic acceptance.

"....Wish so dearly that you would respect and trust[i] me and who I am growing-building to [i]become, I do, instead of scorning me, find wanting and tirelessly trying to make me in your own.....image of good, right, and just. But....that is not in your Nature, I believe think. Not now, not ever maybe-when. Still.....that shan't stop me from loving and accepting you in all you do, now and forevermore....."

'...Even if you won't do the same,' she personally thinks to herself, but such sentiment should be clear to at least Karen and those more perceptive.

.....And that's all she has to say to him at the moment!

*Onto the Next Room Scene!*

Pyra doesn't have much to say or do here, other than quietly admire the shining pink lights and curiously stare into the black abyss that is the chasm. She didn't get too close to it, however - she learnt her lesson of 'looking before you leap' already, though probably not to the satisfaction of others given how blaise she was and still is about that incident.

Concerning getting across the chasm, so gives Marcus a look and simply asks "Anything you can craft-make that would help us climb up-down this Dark chasm?"

Then, after a moment of thought, also asks him "Oh, and if I climbed-went down there, would Tiny Reviver Seeds preserve my life and Health in case of an accident, yes or no?"

Oh Pyra......

Finally, she has no objections to just finding a way around the roadblock ahead of them, if nobody else has any good ideas on how to bypass it! Such is the way of the ever obedient and faithful Devimp, te-he~![/i][/i]

(Oh, sorry, didn't see that! Well, to answer you question IC and OOC: No, she doesn't have it. It's still stored with Kang, as she didn't foresee a need for it in the MD at the time. Again, sorry, but for a different reason!)

RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 09-03-2021

"Afraid that not even a fully grown Reviver Seed would be likely to save you from a drop like that, Pyra.  They're great healing items, sure, but they can't heal mortal wounds."

"As for crafting something...well, maybe I could if I had enough time and materials.  That's a looooonnnnnggg way down, though...I don't think I have anything on hand that'd be suitable for helping with such a perilous descent, and we kinda have other things to worry about right now.  Still, Im not opposed to checking out that strange glow at the entrance of that other tunnel, provided we can find a way around to it."

With no objections to Kee's plan voiced, the party backtracks into the previous room, and continues down the tunnel with the tracks, where unknown items and pokemon await them.

The tunnel eventually opens up into a surprisingly well lit room.  Slightly on edge after the previous encounter, the party approaches warily.  Marcus looks very confused at first, and decides to take a quick peek ahead of the rest of the group.  His posture relaxes and he perks up a bit as soon as he sees what's ahead.  He waves to everyone to follow him as he proceeds into the next room.

The tunnel opens up into a large, square room.  Numerous torches line the walls, and four more tall torches stand at the corners of a pink, patterned carpet.  On the carpet lay many items, and in the middle stands a Kecleon!  The tracks that the party have been following wind around the edges of the carpet and through another tunnel.

Kecleon Shop: Kecleon Shop (Remastered) - Pokemon Red/Blue Rescue Team

"Welcome, welcome to the Kecleon Shop!  Need any supplies for your adventuring exploits?  I've gathered many items that you may find useful!"

Karen squeals in excitement!  "Oh my goodness, a shop?!  In a mystery dungeon?!  Ooh, do we have any money?  We should totally buy something if we do!"

The items available are:
- A Big Apple
- A Sitrus Berry
- A brown Orb with two purple bands wrapped around it

- An accessory that appears to be two blue and white cords braided together
