RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 05-21-2025 (05-21-2025, 03:17 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: *Rolls* ...You have not managed to Tempt the Fates. Perhaps they're giving you a break after yesterday's show and dance.(I have a very bad and wrong feel about THAT roll. Should Bern better be afraid...? Because I surely am!) Onto the City Hall Scene indeeeeed !~ Oh dear heavens and sweet Arceus, if Bernhard wouldn't be so calm, collected and kuudere, he would quite likely faint of stage fright right now and right there on the spot (which would be a funny way in and of itself to kick off the Festival, actually). I take Bernhard HAS held some speeches in his life already given his high rank, plus him actually speaking up during meetings of the Scimitar Council earns him appreciated looks for what little but meaningful things he contributes - but never before has been THAT much in the spotlight. He remains calm and collected there, playing it cool. He genuinely appreciates the wide acceptance and the opportunity though - because, well, he's so utterly and completely weak~ towards sweet, oh-so-sweet f l a t t e r y~☆. He would literally melt away and become a puddle of goo if you push it too hard with the honey words! (happened before) Okay, now then !~ What Bern will do first, is deeply bow to the crowd, several times even, both to greet them and to thank them for him literally flying to the podium, lol. Clever and stylish way to start things of. *tapping microphone, clearing throat* "Weeeellll... It is of an utmost pleasure~ on my end to have been given to opportunity to greet y'all on this GRAND day. It is delightful that so many of you have responded well to the invitation of an Opening at this very and fine City Hall *waves and gestures around* and come together on this this fine day today. Perhaps, mayhaps, you may be aware that I am no man of many words. Speech is silver, silence is golden; as the old saying goes - though that shall definitely not hinder myself on giving you my sincere and personal Thank YOU and words of gratitude. ...Do I over hear you asking 'Gratitude, what for, Mr. Samsara?' ...Well, do you need a reason to be grateful?~ 'Not really', is the answer - Pretty sure EVERY! SINGLE! ONE! OF! YOU! can name one thing they are gratful for, if they think about it well and hard enough. The more, the better for you!~ .....I certainly can name several things I am grateful for. To each Settler of you, whether you have crossed paths with one of my people, the Scimitars - any Fraction - yet before, or not, thank you for having us, for welcoming us. For the mutual respect, for it being a pleasure to make business with you in every and any aspect. ..And NO, this is not as a matter of course, as you might think. Do I need to remind you of the detail that my people had to flee the very lands of Chreshire on mass? That they still see me and my people with disdain, to put it mildly. But THAT is beside the point. No, we are here to CELEBRATE, now aren't we, to celebrate what my and your people have managed to build up via strong alliances, diplomatic agreements, and good relations. To celebrate what we have build up - TOGETHER, in unison. I am pleased, honoured and utterly proud if I managed to contribute even the smallest aspect to this. To what we are having today. I am indeed utterly proud to call the Mageocracy my homelands - I would certainly not be here without you, on this glory day. So go out there, CELEBRATE, ENJOY YOURSELVES, and simply HAVE A GOOD TIME - life in Sutalör is hard enough, but let's keep a blind eye on that aspect just for moment. ...That should be all. Once again, you have my personal and utter gratitude." He deeply bows a few times again, like he did at the beginning. That's not all however - To make thing GRANDE and kick things off with a literal BLAST, can we create sort of a firework/light effect via Evocation spells, using Zephy's Dazzling Gleam and Aurora Veil, Myra's Flame Burst, Nirix's Dazzling Gleam and psychic powers, Spritzee's Fairy Wind, as well as his own Air Affinity? He's willing to throw in some units of Veil Color to make this EXTRA-awes-inspiring and colorful. Bernhard intends to make it an absolute wonderful and utterly impressive effect, combining all of these aspects in a GREAT FINALE wooohoooo! Gauntlet Stress is 12 and I don't intend to use that mans spells today, so all should be well on that end? Hmm, is there a pool available in every category? RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Spiritmon - 05-21-2025 @Dragonstrike After a few seconds thinking about a answer, a idea sprout on Oz mind. With Glinda at her side looking at her phone, Oz begin to type again. How about the Afterlife bar? Its quite a good place to enjoy the festival. They are hosting some kind of "Ultimate Dance Off" event there who I quite curious. I may not look like, but I learn a thing or two about dancing. I not expert but I...decent. There also some kind of event called "No Hold Bar Elite Underground Tourney". Don't know what it is, but looks interesting in case dance and music is not your kind of thing. If I recall they also have some private rooms. We could request one so we may have a private conversation, and...have a heart-to-heart talk. Sound a deal to you? RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Lord Windos - 05-21-2025 @Iron Yes, there are: the Stadium was designed in mind for changing the terrain, climate, and overall ‘setting’ on a dime for whatever Sport or Battle need be done. Having portions of it change for more aquatic Mons to get a fair assessment of the Quality being tested was easily and readily done. Sounds fine to me, but don't expect me to be gettin' on that dance floor. I'm more likely to trip on my own feet and fall flat on my face than I am to do anything you might say resembles 'dancing'! Not exactly a core skill you need when you're tryin' to hang with the best of the best, after all. Well, maybe it is if you're trying to use somethin' like Swords Dance. Can appreciate a good tune though. The plan is for the enormous Pokemon to do the biggest possible cannonball into the pool, using Surf (is that a rare move in this campaign?) to enhance the splash, and catch as much of the descending water as possible in the colossal lilypad (Rain Dish). He'll Stockpile a big dense meal ahead of the games to be as dense as possible. Maybe the re-emergence could be an Astonish. Vernon is just as interested in scouting out how other trainers handle their own huge or rideable Pokemon. Perhaps there's racing in different categories he can observe while awaiting his turn. You don't need to be a master of dancing to enjoy a good dance. I willing to teach you some basic moves too. I not a expert again, but I think its just...good. I will help in teaching. But I will understand if you don't feel comfortable. I always willing to teach you Seddi! Could be good to teach something nice to a hero. Anyway...Need to go now. My sisters is about to wake up and have few things to do. See you later Seddi. Oz then close her cell, looking a little better. Not fully good, but...better. She turn her face towards Glinda/@Lord Windos, and see what she is thinking after her conversation with Seddi (since she was problably watching her sister have a conversation with him). She is problably thinking about something, but Oz will not say anything yet unless she spoke. (Up to you how is Glinda reaction about this entire conversation). Power would be more along the lines of the Power/Move/Feat itself being the highlight, rather than using it as one part of a series for a intended effect. Sorta the different between Swordplay as ART (Cutting something into shape to present or in an elaborate dance to WOW) vs Swordplay as MASTERY (Like pulling off a CUT-tier Move to show how unfathomably POWERFUL you are). Perhaps the difference between the two categories are not granular enough, but that's how the Pokeathon sees it and therefore how it goes. Anyway, let's see how Pwee's Debut in the Pokeathon will go! The judges on hand watch carefully as you prep your gigantic lily duck (and bribe them to go along with it, of course) for a - BIG SPLASH SPECTACLE! For Stockpiling, I'll say that you have the time to pull it off to THE MAX for the 'Splash' Portion - + 3 Dice to that Performance Roll ! First, the Cannon Ball - This will be treated as a Simple Strike for terms of 'Move' Calcs DEX (2) + Fight (3) + Brawl (1) - 2 Actions = 4D6 Dice + (1 Perform + 3 Dice = 4D6 Performance Roll) (1)(6)(6)(6) 3 Successes! (4)(2)(3)(6) + 2 Appeal! Pwee *SLAMS* into the water with enough force to cause it to crater, before the water surges up around him in a big, BEAUTIFUL jet the gets some nods from the committe and 'ooh's from random spectators! Now for the SUR(F)GE Up! Regular Surf isn't too uncommon, but coming from a Untrained Mon like your (admittidly robust) Overgrown Lotad would be a bit of a surprise. Combine that with the great Cannon Ball and I can see it being a particularly effective follow up: + 2 Dice to that Performance Roll! Surf's Up! SPE (1) + Fight (3) + Channel (1 [They're IN the Zone!]) - 4 Actions = 1D6 Dice + (1 + 2 = 3D6 Performance Roll) (4) 1 Success! (6)(2)(2) + 1 Appeal! Your green ducky's re-emergence was not exactly the most elegant or well controled, but it sure did make for great Spectacle. The Cannon Ball made what would already be a decent splash into a stunning geyser of Water that perfectly collected in his Rain Dish, from which he with unusual casualness drank from and stared at the judges, as it to say 'Yeah, I did that.' Such bravado proved quite endearingly effective: Double Total Appeal Earned, then at + 1 Appeal! End Result: 2 - Part Performance: + 1 Appeal All Moves Worked: No Penalties Simple but Good Plan: + 1 Appeal Move Technical Aspects: 1 + 3 / 2 = + 2 Appeal Raw Appeal: [(2 + 1 ) X 2 ] + 1 = + 7 Appeal Total: 11 Appeal Points! You JUST received enough points to Enter into the Bronze Spectacle Category as a fresh-faced darkhorse! For that alone you get refunded $250 Poke back as compensation for entering - if you do well in there you could stand to earn more ! As for scoping out the competition/any BIG Mons... *Rolls* + 1 *Rolls* 3 Successes Not a lot catches your eye in the Assessment Area - as the real showstoppers were usually already screened and entered ahead of time or given private testing to maximize their show stopping potential/hide their secrets - but you do manages to see two Trainers that catch your eyes: One that was Riding and Performing with a Lapras in a 'Surf and Ice Skating Combo' of sorts, and another that was trying to cheer up their Wailmer, who looked very disappointed at their failure of a Water Spout in impressive the judges (Tough crowd, seesh) with its POWER. You figure you have enough time to chat with one later before the first Rounds of the P-Thon begins: will you speak with a would-be competitor in Spectacle or the drop-out with the Wailmer? The punch of the professional octopus indeed lands the blow with surprising 'OMPH!' given its clumsy state, dealing 1 Damage as it sank its tentacle into G-Karp's gut.... ! ...Which caused her to gag....and throw up something onto the dock. Insight Roll: 3 + 3 + 0 = 6D6 Dice (5)(3)(5)(3)(6)(3) 3 Successes Something you recognize, as a matter of fact. An Everstone. *Thrum* G-Karp suddenly begins glowing a bright white. Oh no. She throws herself back and burbles is fierce, crazed RAGE and JOY and T R I U M P H. A burble that soon turns into a *** R O A R ! ! ! *** as your G-Karp balloons in size, it's already massive form stretching, elongating, and simply GROWING more and more and more and MORE AND MORE....! Most of the crowd around you hit the deck, either running as fast as they or their Mons could carry them, or literally throwing themselves into the water, figuring they have better odds there than HERE with - ! The Beauty and her Gorgious Cloyster simply looked up at the ______ with blank looks, before simply going "Well shit." The mermaid just stiffened and Fainted dead in her new Trainer/Servant/Boy Toy's arms, who looked very pale and close to passing out himself. The Fisherman overseeing the competition just got on his knees and started praying. For now, without a shadow of a doubt..... You certainly have the BIGGEST, MOST POWERFUL Catch as your G-Karp evolves into a GIGA GYARADOS. Quake, landlubbers, for a World Menace of the Seas has been Born. The Sailor Shela was rooted in place, starring up wide eyes and Paralyzed at what her competitor's 'weak' fish Evolved into. Grips the Grapploct literally shriveled up as the now GIGANTIC Sea Serpant slowly lowered its big, remarkably calm face in front of its 'foe' .... And simply Looks at it. INTIMIDATING LEER 4 STR (*5) + Fight (3) + Intimidate (6) - 8 Actions - 1 Pain + 2 Successes (Weak and SCARED @#$%less) = 5D6 Dice (2)(1)(2)(6)(6) + 2 ....Grips scrambles to get away, goes up to their Trainer to steal their Ball back, before promptly diving back into the ocean, leaving his former Master to defend itself. The Leviathan watches all this placidly, before letting out a dismissive huff as her 'foe' wisely escapes. She could have easily caught and devoured him whole, but because they played a role in finally enabling her Evolution she graciously decides to Spare them. Their Trainer, on the other hand, who had INSULTED them.... G-Gyarados turned its calm yet baleful gaze upon the sailor, contemplating just what they were going to do to them. Said sailor, upon receiving their FULL ATTENTION, promptly pissed and shat her pants and collapses on her knees, a daze and fearful expression frozen on her face. Perhaps forever, if 'your' Terror from the Deep decides it to be so. Due to the Insight Roll, I'll give you Three Options to Choose From: 1) GTFO - Every man and Mon for himself! No longer a part of the Encounter, but in turn whatever happens will be Out of Your Control. The Law won't penalize you for this too - for a World Menace a certain amount of leeway is given when dealing with them, more so than ever for freshly Caught and Evolved ones. 2) Try to reason with G-Gyarados, or come up with one hell of a good bribe. Failing that, get ready to RUMBLE and try (and most likely Fail) to Return them and subsequently Fight them instead. Or straight up Challenge them now to distract and maybe defeat her. 3) Let Nature take its course - heck, encourage them too and Taunt the Sailor for added salt and terror value. Your Gut tells you this will earn you not a small amount of brownie points with your now most terrifying Mon, but you're pretty much going to be pulling (or allowing, if you don't act the part) a villain Move. Everyone else but the Beauty, Boy, and Fisherman is gone, so you don't have to worry about too many witnesses if you go Baddie, but that means you got to convince or otherwise deal with them if you don't want them to rat you out. What will it be, Wake's Soul? |
