RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 03-05-2020 See? My posts get a little size font. I dont really know what the hell is happening. Its been happening that since the forums get the last update. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 03-05-2020 (03-05-2020, 05:48 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote:(03-05-2020, 05:46 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: So that item was the reason D-Steelix was immune to all Water moves? Intriguing. Hard not to figure that out when all the Water Moves we threw at it did jack all! I also figured that Sing probably wouldn't work on it too given it's unusual Typing and the Prior Plot Device, so I held off doing so for the first Round to prioritize Sleeping one of the Onix before confirming if it did or not in the 2nd Round, as Paula didn't really have any other Moves she could use in her first Action optimally besides Lucky Chant (Which was not exactly too useful mid-combat, or even at the last Round, but hey, wanted her to go out with Style instead of shame) . Gave it some pretty nasty Shadow Moves too, as Shadow End and Shadow Rave are some of the strongest ones available ! Of course, given it's Typing and the numerous amount of Pokemon the group at large that could exploit its Weakness, once its backup turned tail and ran, focusing it down was a simple matter! Overall, it was a fun and challenge boss battle that showcased how terrifying fighting a pack of angry snake Pokemon can be, but that coordinated teamwork and grit can even take the worst serpents down! Nice job, Dragonstrike! RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 03-05-2020 I'm glad you enjoyed the Diamond Steelix fight! I had a lot of fun creating a partially Plot Deviced encounter! Now imagine what I'm going to do with a fully Plot Deviced encounter. *wink* RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 03-05-2020 (03-05-2020, 06:16 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Gama's still not quite recovered from the Kabutops battle. He's definitely still unconscious. Probably because Nurse Joy hasn't had enough time to get around to healing him yet. Operating one of the busiest buildings in every city isn't easy, ya know! Dang it. But didnt Pokemon get heal after a encounter? Anyway, I can smell reason to not heal in any case. I send Gama back to the PC and bring Aspido instead. Takes 2 encounters for a pokemon to healed in the PC. It's been 1 encounter since Gama fainted. I had a lot of fun creating a partially Plot Deviced encounter! I enjoyed too. It requires wits for us all to beat that powerful enemy and his allies. And we get awesome rewards. We have now Fire, Water and the some other Plates. I wonder what gonna happen when we gather all? Also, I have a little question: From which timeline those plates came from? Since this campaigh its a few years after Skull Ruins, the Elemental Plates was with Heart from what I recall, since in the Skull Ruins Heart get a mural with these Elemental Plates. And, in your timeline, Heart manage to restore its Clan in Hearthome City? I kinda curious to see what happens to my young PUNisher char in this time. There's actually more than one set of Plates. Need proof? There's two Flame Plates in Pokemon Platinum version (provided you have an Arceus for an in-game event)! You can also dig up additional Plates in the Underground. Unfortunately, that isn't information that I can necessarily reveal at this time because I don't know how those events are going to play out in Skull Ruins's post game yet. I had a lot of fun creating a partially Plot Deviced encounter! Probably something sufficiently spectacular, for good or worse. Counting all the Plates the group has together, we have 4 unique ones out of a total of 17 (18 if the ??? Plate exists, 19 if as Shadow Plate exists along with it, and 20 if god forbid a Nuclear Plate exists along with the previous two [That one is probably radioactive too, just to add to its awfulness] ) , so we have 13 more Plates to collect during our Exploration if that's a side objective or not, or some unspecified amount if we're not supposed to get them all. Something to keep an eye out for none the less, as even without their Plot significant they're still a + 1 Damage to their associated Typed Move, and it seems they may sometimes be able to prevent AoE attacks from hitting Trainers in the right circumstances.... RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 03-05-2020 Wait a minute, I just remembered something: Ran has an Excadrill that can Dig and may listen to him more likely than Sekhmet will. If Lucas would lead the group back to that room, Ran could probably get it to tunnel a way to that Diamond Steelix if it hadn't vanished, so maybe Spirit/Kogeki can get a chance to Capture it after all, if it hasn't inexplicably disappeared! Also got a question for you, Dragonstrike: Could Lucky Chant combo with Paula's currently not yet learnt Aqua Ring and/or Perish Song? Or is that something I have to get Ran to experiment with in game to get any answers? Main thing I'll say is that if I do come up with ideas for various move specific, unique combos like that, they'll generally require two successive actions to be utilized, similar to the Lucky Wish combo. |
