RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 03-17-2020 Hmm.... Primal State If you faint during a Battle, or in the middle of a Dungeon you’ll let go of the restraints of your human mind and allow the Pokémon to take control and help you survive. You can also choose to enter this state when you are conscious if you are in an extremely distressing situation. When you enter this Primal State, you’ll regain all of your health, cure yourself from any Status Condition, restore your attributes from any reduction and ignore any Pain Penalization inflicted on you. You’ll also get extra dice to all your action rolls equal to your Instinct score. You’ll still be able to control the actions of your Character to help it survive the fight, but it will be acting completely feral. This effect will last for a whole scene or until you are safe. Sounds pretty cool, right? There’s a catch, though, everytime you enter this state, after you have calmed down, you’ll gain a Point on your Primal score; and everytime you enter this state you’ll lose Logic Points equal to your current Primal score Logic is basically your intellect human side. Instincts is your Pokemon side in use moves. If you have 0 logic, you lost your mind and become full pokemon. If 0 instincts you can't use moves. Primal State seems dangerous and way to my much not worth in use. I just checking the Mystery Dungeon core book to better information. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 03-17-2020 Oi, Arceus, are you there? I have a little request I would like to ask you. No matter what form Kogeki take, can he carry his white scarf with him? It is his most important item. It's the last thing Shimo leave behind so it is a very emotional item. Once we get to the character creation phase for Primal Shadows, I'll discuss stuff like that with you myself. Honestly, wasn't expecting that. I'll have to get in contact with them, see if they want to join. Thanks for the list! RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 03-20-2020 Ordo and humankazoo would be my personal recommendations!~ RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 03-21-2020 - Hmmmm...rereading through the rules, I think I see how Evasion was intended to work in the system. And the interpretation of Evasion in Skull Ruins is the closest to it. The only part of it that wasn't following the book's interpretation was the 'action delay' that Iron adopted. Not needing to declare exactly what your actions are going to be at the start of the Round is what differentiates IRL Pokerole from Play-by-Post Pokerole. In the end, I honestly didn't really like the version of Evasion that I tried, as it felt a little too restricted in what kind of characters could use it and when, so I think I'll go back to using an interpretation similar to SR's when my main game starts up. - Clash operates under the same mechanics, just with the added restriction of requiring a move to be used. - As for Cover, I think I'll continue with a similar idea to what I proposed last. Covering an Ally will require an action from the one doing the Covering (but not from the one being Covered), while natural cover (like the stalagmites in the Dragonair fight) won't require an action to hide behind (but it may be destructible at my discretion) due to the nature of movement around the battlefield being mostly automatic in the context of the game's rules. Moral of the story: if it ain't broke, don't try to fix it. These mechanics are similar to how Iron ran SR, which is similar to the book and similar to how I'd like to run the game, so let's just stick with what's already been written in the book and practiced in other games on this forum when it comes to these mechanics (for the most part). This'll probably also be easier to understand for any new players that join since the majority of the reading they'll need to do will be in the corebook itself. And if you don't like how those mechanics are going to work, then that's perfectly fine! You're not required to use them or invest in their relevant stats, after all. --------------------------------------------------- Now that I've worked that out, I think I'm almost ready to release the character sheets and get started on character creation in preparation for the game. Just gotta put some finishing touches on the sheet, write up some instructions, maybe work on the Meta Thread post a little, and wait for responses from possible new players. May not happen right away, but we're getting closer to starting! RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 03-21-2020 Oh boy. Can't wait to the campaign finally begin! I have a scrap idea of my Pokemon choice, with some...interesting ideas I been thinking to be both a favorite Pokemon of mine, but who could fit Kogeki persona and role he have. Of course, with Dragonstrike permission, and I will accept the denied request if he decides. Or someone else pick the same Pokemon as me, so I can choose another one. To put in short: Can't wait to our journey begin! Even more in these...dark times the world we are witness. Things is being intense in my country. What about you guys? RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 03-21-2020 I'm struggling to make sense of how everyone is reacting to Covid-19, honestly. Phantom made a thread in Anything Goes if you want to talk about the current events irl in more detail, though. Let's not start a long discussion about it here, please. |
