RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-03-2019 (07-03-2019, 05:51 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Wow. I been doing very well in the battle at the moment. 2 of Candice most problematic Pokemon is down. All that left is Snover and Abomasnow to deal with. Sure, I have 2 wounded Pokemon, but I am can do it. Snover and Abomasnow, eh? ;P Keep going! I'm rooting for ya! RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-03-2019 ...And here I am thinking it could end well. Guess I was wrong I guess. Dark types is immune to priority attacks correct? Hidden Power out of question. Guess I was wrong I guess. Specifically Priority moves that were boosted via Prankster. Ironically, Candice doesn't know quite yet that Nagi has that Ability and that it boosts Hidden Power. She picked Weavile purely because of her high Dex and the Type advantage. Guess I was wrong I guess. Shit. And now I stucked with Nigh Shade, Hypnosis, Hidden Power. Thanks Arceus I still have one move left. Put Focus Blast and Dazzling Gleam in my wish list Dragonstrike. Checkers against Dark types will be necessary in the future. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-03-2019 So, just for fun, let me give you guys the rundown on Candice's team structure now that everyone's mostly done facing her. Her first pokemon is usually a weaker one. Typically, they're a weaker version of one of the pokemon that will appear in her team later. She usually uses this pokemon to gauge how powerful her opponent is. Her second and third pokemon are flex spots. She picks pokemon here based on which types her opponent has been using against her. Her fourth and final pokemon is one of her three aces. These three pokemon are capable of defeating entire teams of weaker pokemon by themselves (as they have the greatest move variety and the highest stats), and are typically holding a Sitrus Berry during the Gym Battle (like with most Gym Leaders in the Sinnoh Region). Candice raises her pokemon to compensate for their weaknesses, particularly ones related to the Ice type. She does her best to make the most of the type's strengths. She likes to use a lot of type resist berries, and her pokemon tend to have more offensive strategies than defensive because of the exact nature of the Ice type. Guess I was wrong I guess. Couldn't Nagi elect not to use Prankster on their Moves, and instead elect to use them 'normally'? That be the case with Sheer Force in Pokerule and No Guard, as you could opt out of using them if you choose not to, so could that apply to Prankster too? (07-03-2019, 06:20 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Shit. And now I stucked with Nigh Shade, Hypnosis, Hidden Power. Thanks Arceus I still have one move left. Well, guess it's time to Evade Evade Evade! Since Weavile's faster, they have to be proactive, which means they can't Evade conditionally unless they decide to just Evade in the first place! You, however, can Evade conditionally just fine, or just choose to attack when you can! Don't give up hope to the enemy, make them have to work to get it! RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-03-2019 Hmm so basic in what you said and according to the Bulbapedia, her possible choices would be Frosslass, Glalie, Abomasnow, Mamoswine or Glaceon. Easy will not be. Just a little question, since you mentioned Night Shade cause no type damage, Psywave would have the same effect and cause actually damage against Weavile? RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-03-2019 (07-03-2019, 06:30 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Hmm so basic in what you said and according to the Bulbapedia, her possible choices would be Frosslass, Glalie, Abomasnow, Mamoswine or Glaceon. Easy will not be. Yup, that's what her pool of pokemon is! I based it on the entire Bulbapedia list. She's got 10 pokemon to pick from as a result: Snover, Sneasel, Weavile, Glalie, Medicham, Piloswine, Mamoswine, Glaceon, Abomasnow, and Froslass. And yeah, she's a really difficult opponent. She IS the 7th Gym Leader in Sinnoh for most trainers, after all. Dark types are still immune to Psywave because it's a damaging move, unlike Hypnosis. Unlike No Guard and Sheer Force, Prankster doesn't have an on/off switch in the book's interpretation, unfortunately. Pranksters are just always mischievous little buggers, and Dark types rain on their parades. |
