And I'm not experimenting, I just happen to have spread it all throughout my boxes, and leveling up and evolving Pokemon while I have to battle anyway to spread it just works out conveniently. Honestly, you're doing it with scientific precision. I'm just battling, battling, battling, evolving, hatching, rinse and repeat.

Funny how I can hatch two shiny Tonemy and still not get a 6IV...
And for the nickname... someone on the Discord kept mentioning "Unicorn" while I was debating a name, so I, ah... googled "My Little Pony unicorn names" and found a purple-and-green one called "Apple Stars".

I don't even understand this anymore...
And still no 6IV...!
The nickname comes from a joke someone made on the Discord concerning the appearance of shiny Tonemy, so I just went with it. (And promptly forgot that someone else had made a name suggestion earlier in the event this happened...!)
Slightly unrelated, but I also got tagged as a "trolled" breeder on the Discord since the RNG seems fond of giving me everything except what I'm looking for.

My 6IV Jolteon and a foreign 6IV Tonemy (which is on loan to me from one of the Discord breeders). The first shiny Tonemy was actually the product of the Jolteon and a 5IV foreign Tonemy I got from WT (using a power item for breeding); the last two were from this current pairing. And no, i don't have a Shiny Charm yet.
I'm not complaining about these results at all -- in fact, someone offered me another shiny in exchange for one of these Tonemy -- but I am still baffled that I've hit the 1/171 odds three times and not the 1/32.

Well, the holidays have been good to me and breeding, especially now that I've finished the game, completed the dex, and now have the coveted Shiny Charm in my possession...
This was the first holiday shiny that I hatched...
The nickname is fairly self-explanatory... green Misdreavus is not my favorite shiny at all, but I was quite thrilled with him, especially since he was the very last egg of my Misdreavus project, the 6IV having come three eggs earlier (and with quite a hilarious story in and of itself, which I'll probably post in a separate thread when I get a chance).
And then the next day, I got started on my Sheebit project, and this was the second egg... gotta love that Masuda + Shiny Charm combo!
Another somewhat self-explanatory nickname... I didn't want to just name it "Oreo", and the only other Oreo-like cookie I could think of was Hydrox, which sounds better suited to a Water-type than a Ground-type. Still don't have my 6IV Sheebit, but I'm pretty early into the project...
