RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 07-03-2019 (07-03-2019, 06:36 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote:(07-03-2019, 06:29 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Couldn't Nagi elect not to use Prankster on their Moves, and instead elect to use them 'normally'? That be the case with Sheer Force in Pokerule and No Guard, as you could opt out of using them if you choose not to, so could that apply to Prankster too? Could you make the exception or modification of such, though, or would the be too unbalanced of a decision to make? I ask for his and Nagi's shake, since with Prankster Immunity the little shinigami is double screwed by Dark Types, and given they're mostly supporting 'Mons.... Or, if that ain't a possibility now, could it be made into a 'Surprise!' of sorts later? Given that Dark types love to hide in the dark, and Mt. Coronet is probably going to have plenty of darkness in it, it's not exactly that situational of benefit in regards to the campaign itself. I could allow something like that as a later Surprise. One way to do it would be a mid-day Ability switching Surprise. If your Ability isn't Prankster, then Dark types aren't immune to the moves that it would normally boost. i.e. Illuminate has its benefits too in this instance. And the only pokemon that has no other Abilities besides Prankster is Mega Banette, which isn't a concern at the current point in time for obvious reasons. Just not right now. Prankster being able to be turned off kinda invalidates Dark's immunity to it almost entirely, so making it easy to do would be pretty unbalanced imo. Speaking of Illuminate, you think about giving it a buff sometime soon? The Ability to create strong Light that acts as a perpetual Flash and/or creates extra Encounters is nice, but its in Battle applications are almost non-existent. *Shrugs* Fair enough assessment. Sorry I couldn't help you out here, Spirit, but thems the breaks. At least now you know not to bother with Prankster in the future, if you think you're going to places/Encounters an abundance of Dark types. Different ideas for a Surprise could be more/less expensive exp wise. Don't really have any plans to buff Illuminate in this game at the current point in time, to be honest. Pokerole really makes its out of battle applications a LOT more useful due to the nature of the game. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 07-03-2019 Great. Just great. I stuck 2 useless moves against Weavile. And I stuck with Night Shade who doesn't cause to much damage because dark resist ghost. My only other choice would be Peck. Aaargh. I hate puzzle battles RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 07-03-2019 (07-03-2019, 07:04 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Great. Just great. Night Shade's damage isn't resisted. It's unaffected by Type (unless the opponent is part Normal type) This battle isn't really a true puzzle, to be honest. It's not you who is fighting a Dark type with a ghost type. Ah and who by chance is immune to Prankster moves. And I can't even switch off just like No Guard or Sheer Force. ....Honestly this is a good way to end someone battle mood. You're still doing VERY well. Taking out Candice's first two pokemon without losing one yourself is difficult. Weavile might have an advantage right now, but Candice can't switch, so you technically still have the upper hand even if Nagi goes down. Besides, you still have other pokemon that are really good against Ice types. Still doesn't help when you have little options to counter attack. What you expect me to do? Tackle that thing? Or Peck that Burlag cat to death? Ah and there is the ace behemoth Candice still have with her who could eat both Nami or Heracross like lunch you mentioned? That's something to consider too. Yeah. Great advantage indeed. Try to stay positive, alright? If you start believing you've lost, then you already have. |
