RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 05-18-2020 "Okay, I think I see what you want to try. Let me give it a go!" Karen focuses, trying to envision herself and Pyra both standing a few feet away from where she is currently. It takes her a few tries, but she eventually gets it to work. Teleport! (3)(1)(4) 1 Success Karen vanishes! However, Pyra stays exactly where she is. *rolls* ...but Karen also doesn't reappear a few feet away like Pyra suggested. In fact, Pyra's not sure where Karen went... *places new tile on the map, 1 tile away in the upwards direction* [attachment=1055] Ruh roh. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 05-18-2020 ....Well, Karen's disappearance was gratifying to Pyra at first , as that mean it works in a Mystery Dungeon, yay, but when she realized they disappeared without her to somewhere completely random that's when she gets worried. "*Frowns* ....This is not a nice expectation to live with." She'd look to everyone with a blank expression, before she motioned at both the tree block path and gravel laid trail. "....Believe we should split up now and find Karen, now. Kogeki, Kee, see if you can squeeze past tree or climb your way around it. If not, follow after me. Dax, with me along the gravel pathway. Let's go." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 05-18-2020 Kogeki nod his head. "Understood. Me thinks I can climb the tree without much problems. With my Quick Attack, I might be quick enough to reach the top. Unfortanely I can't I not strong enough to carry someone with me so...unless you want to risk Kee, I will try climb the tree with Quick Attack. Unless of course you also want to climb, or want me with you to squeeze past tree. Your choice in the matter Kee." Action: Try to use Quick Attack to climb tree like we did to get the Apple past day. Unless Kee want company in his journey. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 05-18-2020 What..... Karen just went *poof* and teleported away, just like that?! INSIDE A MYSTERY DUNGEON??! That's enough for Ziggy Kee to feel dizzy and run around in a circle out of worry and concern. "NonononoNOPE, must find her, can't leave her 'lone within' dis mount'in, must find her quiiiiicklyyyyy!" Σ(°ロ°) A huge tree is blocking the path? As if that'll stop him, he's a Galarian Zigzagoon and KNOWS how to climb trees! Up he goes after Kogeki without the help of an actual move of his, he doesn't aim for reaching the top but instead just to make his way through the branches to jump down to the ground on the other side. If it needs a roll, roll for it, am very fine with that. (Zigzagoon is based on a tanuki, Galarian Zigzagoon more on an actual raccoon. BOTH of these animals can easily climb a tree is they need to or are after something, so Kee'll rely on his claws and fangs + tail to balance to climb and get past that tree.) RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 05-18-2020 "Alright then. Let's go love. We can't let Karen get beaten up by some random lowlife in here can we?" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 05-20-2020 Sounds like we're making some rolls to try and climb this tree! Both Kee and Kogeki attempt to climb it using pokemon related methods, relying on their moves and instincts respectively. Quick Attack (6)(3)(4)(4)(1) 3 successes Kogeki's Athletics 2 Dex + 1 Survival + 0 Athletics + 1 QA = 4 D6 (6)(5)(5)(1) 3 successes Kee's Athletics 2 Dex + 0 Survival + 0 Athletics + 2 Instinct = 4 D6 (4)(4)(4)(1) 3 successes Both pokemon scramble up the tree without much trouble. Kogeki reaches the top in half the time Kee does, but Kee has a much better instinctual grasp of how to safely climb it. Once they reach the top, getting down safely on the other side isn't all that hard. Obstacle cleared! ---------------------------------------- The team splits into two groups of two to search for both Karen and the objectives. [attachment=1056] Past the large tree, Kee and Kogeki find what looks like a small forest on the side of the mountain. Rocks of varying sizes are scattered all around the ground, with the three largest ones being in the middle of a clearing. And... (6) Objective clue! *sniff sniff* What's that smell? Kee's nose twitches as he picks up the scent of something on a breeze blowing through the trees. *sniff sniff* It smells sweet...fruity...maybe it's an apple?! (3) The first objective is on a tile in the downwards direction. (4) The first objective is 4 tiles in that direction. *places a new tile on the map in the specified location* [attachment=1058] (as an aside, who's leading the way in this group? Kogeki or Kee?) ------------------------------------------ Pyra and Daxter, meanwhile, find themselves being railroaded into what appears to be another corridor of trees with no alternative paths available, similar to the ones that were in Dry Forest. This time, however, there's many more rocks of varying sizes visible through the trees every so often, and the entire path seems to be covered with gravel. [attachment=1057] *crunch crunch crunch* *crunch crunch crunch* *crunch crunch crunch* The two bipedal pokemon stop in their tracks as they hear the crunching of gravel ahead of them. They prepare to face wild pokemon, as it sounds like a particularly large group is approaching very quickly due to how many footsteps there are. However, only three pokemon gallop into view. A Ponyta, a Blitzle, and a Mudbray. The Ponyta has a bag strapped to their back with one of the Guild's badges pinned to it. ![]() (4) Guild Team! The trio skids to a stop at Ponyta's command when the fire horse spots Pyra and Daxter. "Whoa, hold your horses there, guys! Looks like we have company!" Blitzle looks curiously at the duo. "Hang on, they don't look like wild pokemon. Aren't those Adventure Badges that they're holding?" Mudbray seems excited! "OMG, you're right! They're adventurers! Oh, let me tell you, that's a sight for sore eyes!" Ponyta looks skeptically at the duo. "...wait a second, I saw you guys earlier today, at Café Connection, right? Aren't you guys new to the town? How'd you get accepted into the Guild already?" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 05-20-2020 Kogeki didnt take to much effort to reach the top of the tree. Like the wind, he reach the top on a few seconds. When they reach the ground. Kogeki look around and see the terrain around them. "Well, guess we now gonna need to walk I suppose. I may not remember everything from our previous life Kee, but I do remember you have good leadership skills so...Lead the way Kee. But first...Let me try something." Kogeki took a few second to concentrate in his next move. Foresight. The move have battle use, but also can also forsee certain events in the future, by using its mental ability. I pretty sure this move will not show all the future, but at least alert Kogeki and Kee about possible dangers, or maybe a clue of Karen location? RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 05-20-2020 Dax stared at the three of them, frowned, and threw his head back and roared with laughter. There were three baby horse pokemon and for some reason he found the fact that they formed their own themed group hilarious. "Sorry guys. I didn't mean to laugh but you guys remind me of something. Some dumb tv show from where I came from or something like that. But yeah, we're not wild Pokemon. We're recruits of sort, I think. They wanted us to do some missions or something like that before they let us into that guild. My name's Daxter by the way." Dax replied, while trying to suppress another snigger. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 05-20-2020 (For clarity's shake, which way did Pyra's group enter the newest tile? North, South, or east?) Pyra didn't understand whatever Dax was refrencing with his 'T.V.' comment, and briefly gave him an odd and curious look about it out of the corner of her eye. Perhaps that'd be signal enough for him that such a topic was A) Unusual , and (unintentionally) B) A tell that he was giving away they were once human in a way. As for her take on three horses of different elemental affinities rushes to meet them, she was at first obviously apprehensive of them and was prep to Fight, but when they revealed themselves not only Civilized but also members of the local Adventurer's Guild she calmed down immediately. Unlike Dax and most unlike her usual self, though, she was not instantly affable with the herd, looking at them all neutral for a few moments before she decided to speak for herself. "Indeed you do share in our presense, Ponya, Mudbray, and Blitzl. I am Pyra, a Devimp, she who wields the powers of Flame and Darkness. Like my friend here said, we are here on quests to become accepted within your Guild, yes." She turns towards the Mudbray, staring at them with unerring calm and focus. "Now, for you, I have a question, a query that need be told: why are you so festive, merry, and gay, to find fellow Adventurers here in these rough and untamed lands, Mudbray? Would have though competition and unfamiliarity would drive friendly-openess between us in twain." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 05-21-2020 "It's alright, love. Nothing wrong with making a few friends right? In dangerous places like these, a few more allies wouldn't hurt! Besides, we might be in different adventurer teams, but nothing says we can't be friendly with rival groups right?" Dax whispered to the weary demon before turning to the others. "Forgive my friend if she seems a little suspicious, she's a little weird when she's speaking to strangers. She's a real sweetheart once you get to know her." |
