What was that about...? The PC simply *Sighs* and nods, taking your number down into his own Dex before waving you off. "Thank you. Please try to stay out of any trouble if you can - or put a stop to it with as little problems if you can't. Bayhama is going to be a circus 'til everything settles down and is under control, and I don't want you to be dragged under or escalating things if you can help it. Have a good night, sir." Your katana only gets a glance from the formal man before he studiously ignores it - whether or not it's legal for you to 'take' , he's not going to be making a fuss over it if you don't. He also direct you to the Center, sending a Police Officer with you so you can get there with minimal harassment (and, you think, to give whatever is dumb enough to harass you second thoughts about doing so). Nalu takes the Toxic Barb with excitement and reverence, cradling it gently before tucking it away, Kayla shoots you a firm look, as if to say 'Is that REALLY a good idea,' before simply huffing and trudging on. After an expedited trip to the Nurse after a quick word from the Police Officer - Remember, services are on a 'As Needed' basis due to the increased workload - your precious Pseudo is as good as new, though she nearly gives you and the Joy a scare as she lets out a snarl and twists around angrily, looking for danger and opponents that are no longer there. Your hug, however, shocks her into quietness immediately, getting a sigh of relief from the Nurse and your drago's undivided attention. She looks away from your mild scolding for a moment, clearly not happy with it - she was only doing what was right and Protecting you! - but in the end gives you a reluctant nod. The offer for some good food does get her to perk back up - drool already coming off her scaly lips at the thought of a fine meal after that great Fight! Maybe she'll even get some meat for the fine job she did! For now the katana you own goes unnoticed by her, but you can bet your blue hair she'll be interested in it once she actually pay it any mind, knowing her martial attitude! If Nalu does get that as an Egg Move or as a TM/Tutor, or if they do not have it in their Learnset, then yes they can Learn Acid Spray for 20 + the lowest Lv that Move can be Learnt. Otherwise, it's 20 XP + the High Lv the Move is learnt. You can also suggest Move Modifications or Surprises! for XP, though you might want to hold off for now over getting Specialties, Moves, and the relevant Attributes (Defense and SPE) for Nalu for the foreseeable future. "Could have Rabsca send you the details himself if he wasn't out of the loop right now. Whatever that circle did, it put Ceruledge and Rabsca in a bit of a trance when they looked at it. I think that says a lot about the effect that circle would have had on the normal folks that were in there." "I'll check up with everyone and see if we need to reschedule our meeting due to today's events. If we are rescheduling, I might just take you up on that offer of a drink. I'm hoping our meeting for tomorrow night won't be suffering the same fate, since that's supposed to be our strategy meeting for the big fight. Be back in a bit. Gotta go send a few messages." Quote:Zephy's response to Seddi's opening question: Seddi frowns, a little concerned about the mage and wondering why the mythical was hungover of all things, but types out a response to the little critter. If Muse isn't worried about Bernhard, then he won't be either, but he's not gonna mince words as he gets Muse up to speed. Muse, it's bad. I'm likely gonna need some magical assistance at some point, and Bernhard's my only contact in that field so far. Some group or other magiced away five pokemon centers worth of people, pokemon, and medical supplies. Just gone. Nothing left. All that's left in the building I checked is a magic circle that I can only assume was left as a trap to hypnotize anyone curious enough to investigate, and a pendant with an equally magical looking symbol on it that was probably used to set something up in advance. City's on complete lockdown while the cops investigate. You been around a few blocks in your time? Maybe you might recognize some of the symbols or descriptions of one of the individuals responsible that I've obtained in my investigation. This feels like dark magic of some kind disguising itself as something good and welcoming if it catches you unawares. If Muse is willing to hear Seddi out on this, he'll provide her with a picture of the magic circle and a description of the effects he experienced, a picture of the pendant and the symbol on it, a description of the mysterious bandaged mage and the magic the Murkrow saw, a description of the eye wrappings that mysteriously appeared in his pocket, and a description of what the symbols he saw represent and mean as best as he could tell after putting on the eye wrappings. Any of that sound like something you've encountered or heard of before? The authorities are rather starved for information right now due to the nature of the crime. And even if she isn't able to be much help (or even if she is able to assist), Bernhard can always look at the images and descriptions later himself! And oh boy, is Seddi going to be curious to see what Bernhard thinks of this later... Perhaps you're putting some of the blame on your buddy, eh?" The IH Dewgong shoots you a glare, thinking you were referring to them, while the OH one gives you a somewhat frantic wave over their metaphorical shoulder. On thin Ice with that, buddy... Contrary to your expectations the IH Dewgong lets out a *Wark!* as soon as you say animal, slapping at the shape with one fine before rounding on their partner with no small amount of ire. The OH looks offended by this, but now that you're paying a bit more attention they appear a bit guilty as well? Typing Twenty Questions: The animal in question shares the same Typing as the couple - Water/Ground. If you ask about their age, the OH Dewgong simply slaps the oval shape again as their answer, looking a tiny bit irritated with the lack of understanding but still patient with you.... On another note, what are you Pokemon doing right now, if they're still out? RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Lord Windos - 05-29-2024 (05-29-2024, 05:47 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: You almost immediately get a response back, as simple but BIG: "WHAT?!" ...Before a flood of text comes your way. 'Oh sugar honey ice tea with cookies under neat tiramisu! Wwwwwwwhy does this have to happen NOW of all times?!?!?! Give me EVERYTHING you can. I'm not big on magic, but if you got the designs I can give you my best guess on what the unholy fuck is going on!' Unfortunately for the both of you, trying to send direct pictures doesn't work - the Trail doesn't show up on electronic media, while trying to take a picture of The Circle or Pendant nearly causes your Dex to brick, Crude drawings of the later two, however, and the aforementioned descriptions do a serviceable job at getting the details across, however. Several minutes pass before you get a response, and the tone of it makes you think Muse is rather wary and unhappy with the conclusions she's drawn. '....I can't say for certain unless I can get a good look at it myself, but these symbols and the effect it had on you....it smells of Faith based Magic. Or 'miracles' , if you want to get technical about it. Darkest kind too boot - indoctrination , conversion, and soul fuckery is something only the most Evil or twisted Legends or individual care to risk doing. The glowy stuff is probably 'bleed over' Faith - either it being casted on the poor people, or it literally dripping off someone saturated in it. Not too sure about the Pendant, but it looks like a spiritual thingy you humans like to wear to represent your Faith. Maybe it's involved in the 'miracles' there, maybe it is. It's DEFINATELY related to whoever did this, though - you don't leave stuff like that around willy nilly unless you're trying to send a message or if you have to. That person your Murkrow buddy saw was most likely the one to 'enact' these 'miracles' , given the times and deets you shared. Not sure if this was all set up in advance for them to trigger or if they did it one the spot, though - that's more a 'Erni question, sorry!." 'Oh, and those...bandage you have? I'd say you probably want to Burn them to be on the safe side, but given they appeared to you and what you said....they might be keyed to you in some way. Destroying them without 'Erni or I getting looksee at them might be....bad, to say the least. Spiritual stuff and miracles tend to leave their mark, and messing with it requires a delicate or precise touch most of the time. For now, try to avoid using them unless you have to, okay? They SOUND useful, but as they say - there is no such thing as free art supplies, and certainly not from such a shady source!' Well, that was Insight! Worrisome too, oh boy! She was nervous at first when preparing the first drinks, because of her lack of experience in such long while. But after getting used to the pace of the others medics, she begin to learn and get quicker and quicker, making drinks almost as quick in deliver them to the doctors. The Doc gives you an unimpressed side look, but the Trainer, eager for ANYONE that can actually help, quickly moves to you and cuts off any response, jabbering anxiously. "My...my Juniper, Liligant....she got messed up bad by some...some brute's Garbordor! They...tried to rough me up, was angry about SOMETHING! She tried to defend me and got....got...mauled and Poisoned! Not...not the regular kind, but but but....the worst, I think...!" Shit - sounds like a dire case. You need to see the Mon in question to actually make any real judgement and go about treating them, but taking them out of Ball Statsis might spell their doom if you can't act quickly. That, and doing anything with the Doc's permission could alienate you from him and the rest of the meddies, especially if you screw this up. What to do, what to do.... RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 05-29-2024 (05-29-2024, 06:27 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Seddi's very focused on this conversation as he continues typing away, a little frustrated that the magic is even able to interfere with unrelated technology. This magic circle is surprisingly slippery despite being a stationary drawing... Yup, that's about the reaction I expected. Everyone's been saying that all afternoon. I've asked the authorities to lock the affected Centers down extremely tightly until this magic is dispersed. Don't need anyone wandering in there and getting nabbed as an afterthought. I should be able to get you and Bernhard in to take a closer look at the magic though if you're so inclined, given I'm directly involved with the investigation and Bernhard's got a reputation reputation among the suits. If you could do me a favor, ask Bernhard to check his messages when he's back in action. I'm obviously a little out of my depth when it comes to magical mumbo jumbo, so additional more experienced eyes would definitely be appreciated. That circle would have messed me up pretty badly if it weren't for Leaves counteracting the effect it had on me. Still gave me one heck of a nosebleed even then. Definitely wary about what that 'sightless sight' might do to me if I got a little too used to it. My normal vision's still swimming a little after only wearing those bandages for a few minutes. Gonna have a sit down and try to recover. Heeding Muses's warning, Seddi will stow the bandages and the pendant in a separate pocket of his bag from the rest of his items for now. He's not really injured enough to warrant distracting the doctors, but maybe he can find Oz around there somewhere. See what she's up to, give her an update on the situation, maybe even give her a helping hand. He's gonna need to fill some time until Bernhard wakes up, so might as well keep busy for now. RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 05-29-2024 (05-28-2024, 02:02 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: *Slight flashforward* Bernhard gets a response from Seddi in the group chat at some point (presumably read after he's wrapped up everything else he needs to do with the Gleams?). First of all, good to finally hear back from ya Bernhard. A curse!? Dagnabit. Too much bad magic in this city right now if you ask me. Glad those flowers proved helpful for you though. I'll give Leaves your thanks once I'm done typing this message. Definitely let us know if you need some more. If you're so exhausted that you can barely move, maybe Oz can mix somethin' up for ya. She spent the entire afternoon making some kind of energizing thing for the docs at one the Centers. Seemed to work quite well from what I saw. If you want some more context about what happened at the Centers, check your message history or ask Muse. I had a conversation with her about it while you were out. Short story: there's magic involved, and this goes well beyond simple shenanigans. I wish it was that simple. It can wait if you're too tired to process a bunch of information, but I'd 'preciate some input from you on it if you have the time. And finally addressed towards everyone (@Mikaruge108 @Spiritmon @Iron @Redstone) is a really brief question, both with recent events in mind and the revelation of Bernhard's exhaustion: Given the recent events, should we reschedule tonight's meeting with the Professor? I think telling y'all about our plans and goals can wait if everyone's busy or needs to wind down after these crazy developments. Maybe tomorrow mornin'? Schedulin' might be a tad tighter than it was before, but I think that can be squeezed in. RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Iron - 05-29-2024 Vernon's Pokemon are in defense mode, but they've naturally relaxed a lot because it doesn't look like a fight is going to brew. Actually, since the subject is a missing "item", Vernon decides to recall Munchlax. So now it's just Pwee being a living shield. (Water/Ground is even better for him than Water/Ice!) Vernon chuckles. "I'm not dumb, I just like to be clear when I'm talking to someone who can't talk back. We're talking about an Egg! A Dewgong Egg! I said I'd help, and I will." Vernon nudges Pwee to full alertness as he prepares what he'll say next. Looks a bit suspicious, after all... "Did you happen to, er, misplace the egg near a Palossand lair? Because I fended one off while beachcombing just after I found... this." Vernon brings out the blue brown wavy egg found by Munchlax and places it carefully in the sand. He's ready to defend the Egg should he be wrong and the Dewgong attack it, but his gut tells him he's right about this. His stance makes a clear implication that he isn't claiming ownership of the Egg if it turns out to be a misplaced Dewgong Egg. "I've been taking good care of it, just as I would any lost and found child!" |
