RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 08-03-2019 Uxie doesn't need to be so much cold. Kogeki already apologized. He get frustrated for not find the answers he was seeking and in character that was reasoble so at least the first and fourth they at least answer. Or at least answer the fourth question too. That's the part I don't agree. It would not change anything to plot related. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 08-03-2019 I rolled, and the dice decided. I am not changing how that scene played out. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 08-03-2019 So everything will have dice roll? I bet there gonna be a dice roll for when I drink water. Or when I walk to a park. Or anything. And there people who ask me why I fear you been master one day. You already difficult as a player. And now master? *Sigh* Still they could forgive this time. But since I can't just because I put here my complain. Who doesn't change anything since you don't care. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 08-03-2019 Social rolls are going to be more important in my game. What Kogeki said to Uxie was VERY offensive, and Mesprit is the only member of the trio willing to easily forgive and forget. The roll I made still succeeded, but only barely. Hence the resulting reaction from Uxie. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 08-03-2019 Not gonna say anything anymore. I already said my complains and I still have them. Just continue the scene and let's get over with it. I don't have anything to say anymore so just go forward. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 08-03-2019 Now that we're done with Snowpoint Temple, what did you guys think of the dungeon as a whole? I'd like a little feedback before we start heading to Mt. Coronet. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 08-03-2019
(08-03-2019, 02:15 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Now that we're done with Snowpoint Temple, what did you guys think of the dungeon as a whole? I'd like a little feedback before we start heading to Mt. Coronet. To put it simply, I say it was pretty good and well designed. Every floor had plenty of activities that each of us could accomplish (either through creativity, brute force, or diplomacy in the case of some Wild 'Mons) and were distinct from each other in their own right, and the challenge was pretty spot on throughout it all. The boss battle in particular was very nICE , though I already expounded on why that is earlier, so I'll refrain from repeating myself. The plot elements at the end were also a stellar conclusion and reward in of themselves, and make me wonder if you planned for us to do the Temple in the first place for them or just came up with them on the spot once you realized EVERYONE was going to explore the Temple. From a more critical point of view, though, I would have thought after Candice hyping up the DANGER of ST it would be a much more grueling affair (and the fact that the Temple was an Optional Dungeon, and ergo probably more challenging in some aspect to the main quest) , and the puzzles implemented around the Braille could have been more robust (Though I'm thankful it was not, personally) , but those are not major concerns of mine. Beyond the A-Sands , there were not a lot of hostile swarms of Pokemon to Encounter either, which could have served to highlight the supernatural force's influence and served as a warning/foreshadowing that things were truly out of wack there. Overall, I repeat thus: Good dungeon! Could have been harder , but it was still enjoyable, and it was probably for the best it was only moderately difficult. More than ever, I look forward to what the main story will hold, as well as any possible side objectives you'll throw in our way for us to complete or ignore!
RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 08-03-2019 I enjoyed the MysteryDungeon-inspired floor, please make some more and bigger ones of those!~ The variety was also good overall, speaking about tackling an Encounter/obstancle on the way differently than the previous one. Means, yes we could have fought the group of lange Snover on floor4, but it's more fun (for me at least) if it's not outright required to battle everything we come across like it was with the horde of Alola Sandshrew/Slash. The final battle against these Abomasnow was more 'meh' to me, but that was due to player's choices and has nothing to do with gamemastering. An important battle coming along with special circumstances, like in this case soundbased moves being useless, is quite up my ally as it encourages tackling obstacles/fights differently than you'd normally do. Contrary to what Windos and earlier Spirit say, I'd actually like if puzzles along the way will be harder to solve, as I actually like working on them. If so though, I'd appreciate if they aren't handled like a quiz = don't require knowledge about small details that the GM can't be definitely sure about their players to know in- AND outta-chara, but call for a more clever and/or experimental way to solve, at best even with the help of one's own Pokemon. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 08-03-2019 You know, concerning the aspect of Social Rolls becoming more important in your game, I personally don't mind too much, as they (and Knowledge Rolls) are pretty much the best things a human character can do, as Pokemon are more heavily focused on the whole Fighty aspect of Pokerole. Its why I specced Ran to be such a brainiac Craftsman (among other things), as those Skill compliment and improve the group quite a lot. If it weren't for that, Kogeki wouldn't be getting a new arm in the future, nor would the group have access to his own Knowledge base to solve puzzles and the like. He's a weeny beany when it comes to combat as a cost for that focus, but I'm personally fine with that if it means he does excellently in other aspects of Pokerole. Probably going to be building Empathy and Contest Skills once I'm done with Insight, as that seems to be a natural progression path for him that best serve everyone's/his own needs. RE: [Meta Thread] Dragonstrike's Pokerole Test Game: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 08-03-2019 My only feedback was about the social roll who could be used later, with Uxie at least accept Kogeki apologize and answer the most important questions. The rest of the things I have nothing to say nor feel in the mood to do it. If I could retcon something that would be the case. But since my opinion matters nothing I keep my mouth shut to everything else. |
