RE: One could see this as some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 03-02-2017 - EPILOGUE, Lucille's POV-
It was another one of those nights. A short glimpse on the illuminated numbers on the clock standing a few meters away told her that it was 3:27 AM. Oh well... She could not find more sleep. She did not even feel tired, say, but it was way too early to get up yet. Lucille let her view wander a bit in the surrounding... of course there wasn't much to see. Darkness and silence filled the room. Barely any light was visible from outside the window, barely any sound was audible, it was in the middle of night after all. Kellyn next to her was fast asleep... He looked so peacefully to her, quietly, like the most precious thing there was. Of course she told him that her sleep pattern seems to be messed up recently, but there was not much he could do about that. Except allowing her to wake him up if she's feeling uneasy, but she did not wanted to bother him too much with her stuff. A quiet sigh escaped her, before Lucille carefully put on her glasses - Like if this would help her getting a more clear view in the darkness – and taking care not to break the silence, she moved the blanket aside, stoop up from the comfort of the bed, and moved herself to the window. Ah, it was a precious sight. No stars, the moon wasn't visible from this side of the house at the moment, only the usual backyard greeted her. Still, it had something neat, seeing it at this time had something...special to it. As she moved away the curtain covering the window a bit more for a better view on the outside, her hand felt something ceramic standing on the windowsill among the two ferns that were standing there as usual. Must be a tea cup left from the day, she probably just forgot to bring it back where it belongs... It seemed there was still something in it at last, and indeed there was... Ah, that herbal tea tastes much better when it's freshly brewed. Now, it was just a cold and slightly bitter liquid. Something brushed her leg some moments after she placed the cup back where it was standing. It let Lucille flinch, but a quick view told her that it was just her son's shiny Espeon. Looks like she was not the only one awake at this hour... Without opposing, it let itself being picked up and held close in Lucille's arms. It was slightly cold by now, given that Lucille was standing there at the window only wearing a long nightdress, so Espeon's velvet fur came in very welcome. Like if it felt what was going on, Espeon even nuzzled up a bit to her. Around one month has passed now since that „therapy lesson“. One month since she lost her Nucleon. And still she struggled to let go of it all... She told herself that it was better this way. That it was for good. That this was the bitter price she had to pay for a life in peace with her dear family. Ah, speaking of those... Of course they quickly realised that something was different. That Lucille became calmer. And that her Nucleon, that faithfull little feline, wasn't by her side anymore. She told them that someone took it away, it has probably perished by now. Kellyn, suspicious as he was, didn't trust all this. Why did that weird person abducted his wife, what did he do with her (he better not dared touching her... ) and why her Nucleon? However, Lucille asked him to let it be... That there was no use in searching and hunting down that „person“. She didn't even remember his name, or his look... Hell, he understood his business. She did not want to get him or their son into trouble, or cause them headache or sorrow over her. She will get over it, she wished them to clinge to her, now that she has been returned safely in one piece. Something she did not expected at all... but she was thankful for that detail. Vitor, as soon as he returned from the breeder's conference, quickly has been inducted what has happened meanwhile. That surely were some news... However, as long as she was fine and has been returned safely... Well, he was just glad to have his biological parents by his side. He enjoyed being with them although he was old enough by now to live on his own – but why should he, if he felt at home where he was? Lucille also began to work from home whenever it was possible. The facility didn't like that at first, but eventually agreed as long as she will deliever decent work. Which she did. While she did not engage in as many experiements like before, she still found some pleasure in researching those nuclear beings. But, she approached them with much more caution, even the stable ones. They still had quite the fascination to her, but seeing what they have done to her and how they were the actual cause for, say, that therapy-thingie... Better avoid those if you're not fully aware of what you're actually doing and how to handle them safely. Whenever she WAS around them – which happened rarely, but from time to time it was necessary – she indeed tried to hold back a little. To think for a moment about what may happen if she does what she plans to do. Even if it was just a moment, it was a moment more than she did before. She did not want to go though it all once more, to cause death to an innocent creature (Nucleon) because she just felt like it. There was another thing that kept hunting her mind and that prevented her from putting an end to what has happened. It were San's words about her... immortality. She did not fully believe him as he told her, she can't remember what he exactly said at all, she was too occupied with the fresh wound the death of her dear pet has caused. However, she didn't forget about his words neither. Soon after Kellyn returned from Snowbank, found his wife safely at home like that person on the other line promised and she recovered a bit from the shock, she tried something out. Secretely in the facility. And … she discovered that San was not lying. While other cells horribly mutated or died off when exposed even directly to nuclear waste, cells from her organism just stayed fine and kept replicating like normal. Slower at first, but indeed like nothing has happened. It was so weird... She asked a microbiologist working for the same facility for an analysis of a DNA-sample she gave them (she concealed that it was hers), and later compared it with „normal“ human DNA. … She didn't find any difference. Maybe she'll look into it again some time later, but for now it was just weird. Maybe that time in static caused that? Or it was just nature trolling her? She didn't know, but it disgusted her. She felt like a scientific miracle and abomination at the same time. Ugh... well, f#ck that. None needed to know. Damn, she might investigate that further, she might make more money than she ever dreamed of if she donated herself to science. Bleh, but who cares?! Lucille was tired of it. Tired of doing another thing whose outcome wasn't certain. Rather try to go on where it stopped before she has been abducted, than stepping into grey terrain again. … Something rough and moist on her right hand brought Lucille back to where she was – at the window of her bedroom. Espeon has begun to lick over it – how cute! She stroke its head a few times, thankful it was with her right now, and then carefully put it down to the floor. Next, she quietly climbed back into bed and snuggled up to her asleep husband who, after all this time, still loved her. He could probably have every woman there was in Tandor, but he just wished for her. Such adorableness, even if it may be foolish or blind, caused Lucille to smile a bit, before she closed eyes and let it be for now. She didn't what will be once morning strikes, or how things will develope with the years... But for now, she was fine with where she was right now. RE: One could see this as some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Lord Windos - 03-06-2017 Epiloge: Sans Point of View "Remarkable. Even after all our time together, you have found a measure of peace. Such resilience," Sans said, watching Lucille drifting off to sleep with her husband. In the Education center, in a room tucked away from both the Therapy Room and Patient Care Clinic, sitting in a chair behind a simple metal desk, with a monitor recording Lucille live, was Sans. A glass filled with his favorite cocktail, The White Russian, was near hand, and it was looking pretty meager. He sat there, watching with an unreadable expression on his face, before he chuckled to himself. "I'm afraid I can't say the same about myself, unfortunately. I guess you can say its not a peace of cake to find that sweet relief, he he." It had been month since he meet the woman, in the arms of his beloved Blithe, and things have been calm for the most part. Tianlong (his Luxelong) was quite ecstatic when he told her that he was finished with ruminating over Lucille, and was ready to move on with his life. His darling almost bowled him over when he broke the news, though her children finished the job for her. 'Quite the devils, they are, but are not all children like that? Guess I'm just as lucky as the rest of the world in that regard,' Sans humorously though, a smile adorning his face for a brief moment, before it disappeared. 'Shame they have a Criminal Mastermind as a father figure.' He didn't quite know what to do, now that he had finally achieved what he most sought after, so he decided carry on as he was, and keep a ear to the ground for any news about his 'correctional treatment'. He wanted to be the first to know if someone was on his trail of tears in the event he had to book it to greener pastures, afterall. To his slight surprise, there was hardly a murmur about his escapades with Lucille. Sure, Kellyn nearly blew a gasket when he say the state she was in after spending some quality time with her, but Lucille was able to placate him somehow. Vitor, when he got the new from his father a few days later, immedianlty left the conference to be there with his mother, leaving him to fly over to Sinnoh to do damage control on that situation. Afterwards, he went back to work at the lab, and discovered that not only Lucille decided to work at home permanently, but that she also distanced herself considerably from Nuclear related projects. He was quite pleased about that turn of fortune; less so that he was assigned to pick up the slack in that regard. 'You win and lose some, I suppose,' he thought, remember how virulently he sweared when the news was broke to him. He almost gave the poor messenger a heart attack from the display! Vitor was quite apologetic about disturbing him on his vacation (He took a few weeks of vacation prior to enacting his plan, so that he would not be disturbed), but he was fairly nonplussed about it, understanding the situation to a far greater degree than he would ever realize. Sans had a bitter smile on his face as he remembered his friend's sheer fright, savoring the irony of the whole thing. "I wonder how he would react if he knew how responsible I was for putting her in such a state. The boy is an angel, but there is a bit of steel in him. He was able to stand up to CURIE and foil her plans, something I wish I could have done. Then again, if it were me, I would have pushed Lucille in the Lava," Sans monologue, before taking a pull from his glass. As for his dealing with The Don, the went rather amicably. The Don and his henchmen were able to get a surprisingly large amount of loot in a short amount of time, and no one got caught, so the paid distraction on their part turned out to be highly profitable. When he called him later, the mob boss was guffawing at how much he lined his pocket from the outing. When Sans teasingly reminded him of how skittish he was about the job, The Don became rather abrasive, sullenly remarking that "Heya, quit busting my chops here! YOU trys handling the Ranga Chief breathing down ya neck all 'round da clock! Despite the profit made by him, Sans stilled paid him what he promised, and now he owed a favor to him. Given his reputation and how seldom he puts himself in debt to other, he knows Don won't invoke it for a long time. At least, not without VERY good reason. Sans does not like his time wasted on frivouslous thing, something he made abundantly clear to the rest of the Committee. Besides that, he has not bee active in the underground scene, focusing on his own affair in the wake of his judgement. Then there was the fact that Lucille decided to keep mum about her treatment, and what befell her beloved Nucleon. He didn't expect that to happen, but it appears she finally took his words at heart. While his 'therapy session' unavoidably affected her whole family, he earnestly tried to keep them out of that mess as much as possible. They suffered enough from Lucille's atrocities and absence; why compound their sorrows even more. He didn't know whether to be glad or not about this, but he content with her decision as a whole. As Sans sat there, pondering over the past, he noticed that he emptied his glass. Picking it up, he stared at it, before hurling it at the wall, where it shatter into thousands of pieces upon impact. Sans look at the fragments, before turning his attention back to the monitor. Seeing her, sleeping contently... it made him wonder. Who got of with the better end of their time together? Here he was, all alone and drinking himself into a stupor, spying on his archnemisis, pretending that all was fine in the world, when in fact quite the opposite happened. He was still as miserable and depressed as he was since the Nuclear Crisis ruined everything in his life, only instead of being filled with vitriol and rage, he was left with bitterness. After confronting Lucille with all her failing, forcing her to be accountable for her actions, and instilling in her the lessons she needed to learn, he didn't feel any better about it. He was still as empty as before, silently cursing himself as he tried to endure how pointless his life truly become. How utterly twisted and despicable he transformed into in the wake of his tragedy, how completely useless it left in the world. Day by day, he was forced to wear a mask, pretending to be the wisecracking scientist with a temper, when inside all he was constantly breaking down, just wanting to give up entirely. He had to keep himself together, though. He still had is hatred of Lucille to sustain him, his righteous mission to accomplish, and a family to provide for. He had. Now that Lucille made he choice, his passonate hate of her has waned. With 'justice' finally metted out, his goals are now accomplished. As for his family, if anything happened to them, Vitor promised to take care of them, so they are in good hands. Everything has been taken care of, and he found himself wanting. What now, was there left for him? NOTHING. Turning his attension away from the monitor, he look down to his desk, and opened a drawer. In it, was a fully loaded revolver. Sans picked it, feeling its weight. "Never been found of guns; to quick to the point for his taste. Now, though..." He thought of everything he had done up to this point, before he chuckling to himself, and said "I'm tired, so so tired. I've waited so long, and only gotten more exhausted with my life. Now, with everything tied up nicely, I can finally rest," He turned to look at the screen, gazing at Lucille, "Just like you, my fellow scientist. All things must end someday. As with your painful past." He raised the gun to his head. "So to with my painful existence." Sans pulled the trigger. *click* RE: One could see this as some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Lord Windos - 03-18-2017 *Dingling Dingling!* What that sound? Why, its the Q&A Ringer, of course! Now that this story is properly finished off, this thread is open to any and all questions you have about the plot, characters, and own thoughts behind our post! Feel free to post, and either I or Phantom will get to you as soon as possible! With that said, question away~! RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - Spiritmon - 06-02-2017 Well its been a while since I came here and have some questions (its so good to have a computer once again :3 ) Here some questions I have: 1: Where came the inspiration to make this story? 2: It's a dumb question but Lucille in this story have really regret from the time when she was Curie? 3: You two like the end you make to story (I love the end, but I want the opinion of you two) That is my questions for now. Have a nice day you two. RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - Lord Windos - 06-02-2017 (06-02-2017, 02:04 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Well its been a while since I came here and have some questions (its so good to have a computer once again :3 ) Nice to see that someone is curious enough to ask us question! Well, I'll answer them the best I can! 1: The story more or less happened by pure chance, really. Phantom decided to roleplay as Curie in one thread way back, so I roleplayed a very disgruntled scientist. From there, we just continued until things escalated waaaaay beyond the boundaries of my imagination! 2. From what I can infer, yes. Severely so, as a matter of fact. Its one of Lucille's biggest hang ups in the story, as her actions as CURIE haunt her both metaphorically and literally. Its how Sans was able to break her down so efficiently: he just played her own feeling and info against her as cruelly as possible! 3. I personally like how it turned out, since Lucille and Sans got exactly what they wanted out of the deal (Well, maybe not Lucille...), and I just loved how they each recovered from the events. Lucille went on to become functional, wiser, and happier with herself after events, but now she is properly paranoid about her actions, and still possesses a fragile ego. Sans got revenge, and managed to live a decent life until his depression go the best of him, and he used a gun on himself in the throughs of drunken sadness. I left it open ended as to whether he survived or not, since I may want to use him again. RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - Spiritmon - 06-02-2017 So you pretend to make a sequel to this story? Not I complaining just curious. I think you two finish the story and everthing. This make me wonder about other question my friend: 1: The Sans family know about what he done? 2: The boss who he work have any conection about the scientist in Uranium (the one we met in a town and have our pokemon captured? I forgot the name) 3: In a certain part in this story I think I see Lucille talking with herself. Is that a hint about some conscience of Curie remaines? 4: Where the others mons from Lucille teamw when she was Curie? (Like N-Baariette, N-Arbok, etc) 5: Who was your first pokemons in your first run? (I know that is not part from the story but I curious) RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - Lord Windos - 06-02-2017 (06-02-2017, 02:40 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: So you pretend to make a sequel to this story? His brother is the only one with any idea of what Sans did, but given the years that have gone by without contact with one another, and Sans secretive nature, they don't have much a clue what he did. All the brother knows is that he commited suicide after achieving revenge against someone, and that's about it really 2. He's not associated in any way, shape, or form with Dr. Larkspur. If he was, the man would be tortured to death by now at Sans hands, for all the bullshit he inadvertidilly facilitated, if not caused with his actions. Sans works for himself, and as a part of the team of scientist at the research facility, but that's about it. 3 and 4. Can't answer those questions, as Phantom never alluded to either those things much. 5. Metalyxn, Dunseraph, Nucleon, Beliaddon, and Dramsama. RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 06-02-2017 (06-02-2017, 02:04 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Here some questions I have: Nice to see your Computer's working again, and thanky ou for the interest shown here. ^-^ 1. As Windos said. I slipped in a random comment from Lucille - not CURIE - into a post - I still have that Pahar the threadowner was giving away there - and something like this happened. 2. In my point of view, she does. But she decides to not mull over this too much, and rather lives her life among her family as best as possible, giving them some of the love and time they have missed over the years. 'As best as possible' is point. She's quite an interesting character with unique views on moral. 3. Actually, the epiloge was the hardest part for me to write, but as well...most fun. I wasn't sure how I let her end at first, but decided as described there. Windos's epiloge was quite fun to read, and rather suprising in the end. It matches his character, though. In fact, I had no idea how he will have Sans deal with the fact that he now got his revenge. RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 06-03-2017 There most likely won't be any sequel. I feel this story is finished up all nicely, I see no need to awake it for now. (06-02-2017, 02:40 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: 3: In a certain part in this story I think I see Lucille talking with herself. Interestingly, I cannot remember where that occured. Most likley it was more of an inner monologue instead of real talking-to-oneself. A bit of conscience from CURIE might still be there, but just little actually. Lucille is stronger. 4. Personally, I dislike the idea that she simply keeps the team she used in the battle in Zeta. Why should she keep them when they only remind her of what has happened in the past? Plus the fact that they still leak radiation since they are corrupted Nuclear-Types, not stable ones. None would definitely not want them inside the house, fearl or not. So all of them are securely contained in the Facility she works for. Only thing she kept is the Nucleon, her favorite and most faithful companion. Well, before she lost it to Sans... 5. Metalynx, Eshouten, Vilucard (normal one, I finished playthrough way before Halloween), Chimaconda (female) and a Sand-Stream-Escatress I received as a Cassnail from Wondertrade. No sixth party member. RE: Some kind of "Post-Uranium RP" - Now finished and open for questions! - Spiritmon - 06-03-2017 Thank you for the time of you two. And all the answears you gave. And sorry if any question I made bothered you two. Have a nice day you two! Also Phantom. Don't forget to... you know the rest *wink* |
