Sylvia cocks her head at your description of Myra's acquisition.
>?Definitely not Cheyenne, then...

At your look, Sylvia responds cooly.
>>It's... a long story.
>>The short version is, I'm lonely. It's been quite a while since I've had even so much as a civil conversation with a comparable Psychic.
>>The long version...
>>...

>?How to put this...
>>I talked to a blind hiker once. When you're blind, the body adapts to use other senses, like hearing. Everywhere you go, you get a sense of what's around you by hearing sound bounce off them. This hiker and his zubat, however, found the feeling oppressive at times... they climbed mountains to get away from it. When you're at the top of a mountain and cry out, there's nothing to reflect off of. Just space and silence.
>>The human who raised me...

A small laugh, and a head shake.
>>Try though he did, he wasn't a perfect trainer. During his... breeding processes... a number of my siblings evolved into Espeons. I grew up in a house positively full of psychic signals, and for the longest time, I wanted an escape. I wanted to climb the mountain.
>>When I finally did, though...

A sigh.
>>I've been away for a long time. That human... He made a mistake, and I'm still frustrated at that - I broke a pokeball over it this morning. I'm not sure how long it will be until I can allow myself to return, even if only to say hello. But, at the moment...
>>I'm lonely. These years have been long...

Sylvia's psychic voice tapers off, her head hung. Her aura has soured, tinged with sadness and regret and just a bit of anger. And, something... greener.
>>I wanted a friend.
Sylvia takes a breath and regains her composure, sitting up straight again.
>>Myra has made it clear, however, that she is not interested. I won't press the issue.

@Spiritmon
There's nothing in particular that Bernhard says in return or responses to, he's completely fine with just calmly listening to what Oz shares - no changes in his expression while doing so. Medicine, and double so medicine without any involvement of magic, is far from his field or speciality, so he does all quietly enjoy being enlighted by someone versed in this field, gratefully absorbing the new knowledge and insight. If anything, Oz speaking about Fortuna's ability to 'bend “fate” to our side a bit' spikes Bernhard's curiosity. What a peculiar Honchcrow through and through!~

...Things change a bit once Oz continues about what these 'BBs' and 'John' have done to her/Oz, Bern frowns quite a lot and looks deep in thought. He takes a loooot of time to finally respond, making it look like he almost refused to say anything at all. *not looking at Oz but to the side* "Well... How lucky and fortune that you managed to escape the...'situation' at last, dear Oz. A hideous crime on a lady like you are, through and through..." *averts gaze back to Oz with emphasis* "This gang's member's revenge is preprogrammed, I have no doubt. Please do promise me that you will be on the lookout, act with utmost thought and care as you go on about your days, and avoid just about anything that even has a slim chance of being a risky course of action or going wrong." *shakes head a bit* "I cannot let something foul befall those people that are, how to put it best... 'destinied to travel together', no. Do not hesitate to call me or ask for my aid, if needed. Busy and occupied I am and will be indeed, but who am I if I were to ignore a 'companion's' plea for help..."

"...Do I have your word?" Bernhard will not stop figuratively starring huge daggers at Oz until having said word.

@Pokekitty2
Sylvia, similar to Oz, receives nothing but an open ear and Bernhard's full attention as she elaborates and shares her story. No visible reaction or change of minic on the stoic Magus, he just listens and takes in the special Espeon's words. ...Apart maybe from one fleeting reaction, that is: As she comes up with the story of the blind hiker who climbed mountains to find some space and silence, Bernhard looks away from Sylvia and down at the table for just a split second, indicating that either he does enjoy that metaphor of wanting to get away from oppressing things, or can somewhat relate to it. Or maybe both, none can tell.

And as Sylvia regains her composure and sits up straight again, Bernhard simply...musters her, no saying anything at all at first. He looks like he's pondering depply, choosing his words of response with utmost care. Again it takes looong for him to finally answer: "No doubt I can...tell and see how lonely it must be to be such a special individual like you are, dear Sylvia... Being THE kind of Pokemon of companionship to humans and trainers alike, with you having chosen to pursue and acquire independance instead, away from it all and away the human having raised you. Forgiveness does not come easy, does it not? ...By far not, especially so if it's not even certain of it being in the books at all..."

Another long break. "A friend is what you want, then? Well... A guarantee is not a given, but I do have a proposal for you to consider..." Bernhard extends a careful hand towards Sylvia, the gauntlet'ed one. "Join us. Accompany us. Be a part of the fellowship that has been chosen and put together by fate(?) to travel Sutalör, pursuing the path that is laid open for them by destiny. Said journey will be eventful, hard, and no doubt will have its good share of troubles and hardships to overcome... Though maybe, just maybe, you will be able to find what you are seeking among our ranks or among the various people and Pokemon that we will encounter. If anything, a decent voyage is a splendid way to learn more about yourself and clear your mind of any dark clouds that obscure the view on your own self."

".....The choice is upon you. You are free to decline or request some time for consideration - for ready to depart we are by far not yet."
Bernhard looks at Sylvia with sort of any expectant glance, knowing that what he offers may not receive an immediate answer.

@PhantomUnderYourDesk

Oz was a bit silent after hearing Bernard's words. She listened to them, and then after a while she bit her lip, and then answered Bernard's words. “I promised I will try. With the current I was, I couldn’t have the luxury to ask for help because it could reveal my location. But…I will try to ask for help next time. And if possible avoid situations like the one with John and the BBs. I didn’t know they were after me at the time since I found a fossil in the mouth of Raticate. But I will be careful next time.”

Oz checks her phone and sees the time. “It's almost time for Ianai challenge. I think we should prepare ourselves for them. I also would like to prepare my two new Pokemon for the challenge. I will show you what they are in the challenge if possible. They are pretty cool.”

Darren nicknames the Shedinja "Élan" (OOC: French for "momentum", and the nickname of my shiny Shedinja) and sends it to his PC. Time to get a Focus Sash

He looks a little bit more at the scale before slipping it in a pocket.

"That... Flutter Mane... was something else"
Darren gives the rest of his statement, includimg the direction the family seemed to be going, so that someone more... equipped... could make sure they are safe.

Now that things have calmed down a bit, Darren sends a text to the rest of the group, attached is the image of the special service menu for the Coffee shop.
Quote:Just ran into a crazy looking Misdreavus, I think it was called Flutter Mane. Didn't mess with it.

Aaron eyes dart to the scale for a moment (and the extra Pokeball), but he doesn't say a word as you slip it away; his chief concern is your current wellbeing. Which, given how pale you are the strong sense you could Faint at any moment... 'not good at all' would be the plainest way of putting your condition.

"Boy....*Sighs* you did good. Not great, but.....I don't think there was anyway you could get out of....that without getting a bit squashed."

He then reaches over to give you a tight hug, mumbling something into your ears: "By Arceas, I'm glad you're alright. Don't scare me like this again, please."

The police's own skin turns a Ghastly white at your report, but with grim determination they note it all down and march in legion to the location of the Flutter Mane. You'd later receive a report, per the guidelines when dealing with this specific Malefic Monstrum: Flutter Mane was not Spotted when Police Forces arrived, but its Presence was Detected. Location and Further Intent: Unknown

You also find out about what happened to the mother and child, either through the news, by request (with Aaron's help), or by keeping tabs on this case: The mother is dead, and the child is.....alive, in a certain sense of the word. The mother was completely enervated, colder than Nevermelt Ice, blue as the sea, and gaunt like a Ghost. Their ears were bloody and bursted like a ripe tomato....and no eyes at all. The child, on the other hand....physically, they were unharmed, but mentally? Spiritually? You didn't get a lot of details, but what you did find....oh dear. They're being adopted by a local coven of Hex Girls/Hex Guys for them to handle, which is an all too telling sign that their future was most grim and Strange indeed...

Lastly, your newest spectral insect was currently in Deep Slumber, from what you could quickly check on its Status Screen; you have a gut feeling that this one has been Asleep for a long time ever since it fell into that singing nightmare's 'care' .

Anything else you want to add or inquire about?

Vernon wants to recreate a meme he saw where you show your Pokemon things they haven't seen by holding them up. He's gonna walk the perimeter of the city and show Turtwig the tops of roofs, trash cans, how mailboxes work, kiosks at parks, the canopies of small trees.
Munchlax is out as well (Pick Up will trigger at the end of the encounter).

If the team finds any items while doing this bonding exercise, that wouldn't go amiss!

You receive an affirmative from the staff, trade numbers with them, and soon you're setting out, this time fully indulging in the sights and sounds of Bayhama like a proper Tourist! Unfortunately the crowds are thin and the moods is low and tense from the previous day's disaster, but that just means more space for you to dart around with your friends without attracting as many stares or undesirable attention. It's also a good chance to find any lost Items or similar unseens goodies that haven't be claimed from the aforementioned panic, especially with the help of your friendliest lil' bear!

We're going to be doing two Item Discovery Rolls: 1 that has a + 2 to Rarity due to conditions being ripe to find something good with your thorough exploration and sightseeing with your Mons, and one Pick Up version that factors in your Fortune.

Item Discovery #1
Type: (6)  Oooh, nice!  Rarity: (12) + 2 Good enough!

You find a Dusk Ball containing a Razor Fang (+1 Chance Dice to Flitch Opponent, + 1 Chance Dice to deal 1 extra Damage with Bite Style Moves)! The Dusk Ball is re-usable too for Catching Mons - what a find!

Item Discovery #2: Pick Up!
Fortune: *Rolls* Great?
Pick Up Roll [INS + Survival + Alert]: (6)(1)(2) (2)(3) (3)(3)(1) Uh.....
Rarity: (6)(1) Average

You end up spotting a small bundle of Sitrus Berries (your Munchlax was getting quite peckish!), but before you could go over to snag them a small swarm of oddly colored Combee zoom on by and snatch them up, before flying of into a nearby park - coincidently the same one you found yourself in when you first 'arrived' . How Strange !

The Trail's location was a wide open field near the edge of Bayhama's Resident District - far away from any nearby buildings or any potential gatherings of people that such a place can possibly be here. Since this is about the end of your Third Encounter the time for the Trail is VERY Soon, IE: It'll start as soon as you wrap things up in Koffee shop and arrive at the location with the others!

(This goes for Seddi and Oz as well, @Spiritmon and @Dragonstrike !)

"Well, like I said, Professor Sada would very much like to speak with you about Bio Fang when we can find some time to schedule an in person meeting.  I'll keep ya posted.  Do keep an eye out for a message from me or her in the near future though.  Since she's been so busy settin' up a base of operations and dealin' with all the politics lately, I asked her to try and find some time to record video message detailin' our Paradox research for y'all.  She'll be open to takin' questions about our research after that, though I might be able to answer a few myself if they aren't too technical.  I'm more of a field worker myself than a lab specialist.  A rather necessary role in this line of work, for rather obvious reasons."

If Akamu is willing to let you take a closer look, you find that Ecclesia isn't a Delta per say, but rather they have a unique Ability that confers her abnormal Typing and coloration and influences her overall demeanor. True Deltas or Region Varients have Inherent Type Changes from 'the baseline' Mon in question without Abilities, Items, Surprise!s, or certain Procedures influencing them, or are so Odds and Unique compared to he 'standard' that they can't be classified as anything BUT Different. Other Pokemon Classifications include Overgrown/Titanic, Alpha/Omega, Gamma, World Menaces and 'Deadly', Pseudo, Mythic, Legend, Shiny, 'Perfect'/Purebreed , Primal, Mutant, and Aberrant/'Domain Zero' - those you (Seddi) know off the top of your head. Akamu would be aware of Aberrants and DZ Class Pokemon in general - Ultra Beasts fall into this camp, after all, and his people have a long, storied history with Mons from Beyond the Domain of the Pokeworld. Totems fall into the Alpha/Omega and/or Primal Classification.

Nobody yet has received a VM from the good professor, though they have receive a brief messages that amount to them saying 'Hello, please send your questions and I'll get to them ASAP, do not spam me or you will get blocked.' Akamu specifically receives a request to hand over the Bio Fang for a period of time so she can Study it - this would free up Leaves from the task and give the professor the sort of work she WANTS to do, while also giving the smol chimera some minor training from someone that has a great deal of experience dealing with overly Aggressive Mons.

By the time you and the blue haired swordsman-to-be finish up your joint Training session it's getting close to Night time - and the Trail that Ianai has prepared for you and your compatriots. You also receive a message from Rodger Dodger by this time: ' Good news: FINALLY got some free time, so I can meet with ya on this whole 'Test' shin dig of yours and Oz's! Bad news: Not sure if I'll get there early - things are dragging like a old school bus with 3 flat tires and a Aggron in the back, and I need to make things don't go Aspear shape before I turn in for the day. So feel free to start without me if I don't make it in time - not my first race I got a late start on, heh. Good luck in any case, mate!'

Iron Leaves, if she is still out, seems a bit concerned with your slight moodiness but choose not to pry; you've respected her secrecy, so it is only right she afford you the same for your own privacy of thought. Ceruledge and Velzuna are spoiling for a Fight too - the former because they're still very much pissed and wants to use the Trail to show up that old coot, while the later is just hungry for battle as always!

@Redstone : I believe you're on your 3rd Encounter after the Survival Center Tour; What is it you wish to do for that Time Slot? If you need an idea the receptionist has discretely made it known to Akamu they get off early after the Tour if you want to 'hang out' ....

RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 07-23-2024

(Uh, I'm just going to leave open whether or not Sylvia accepts Bern's offer to join us all, in case Pokekitty returns at some point. Until then, if you happen to read this, I do wish you the very best truely and only.)

Bernhard's quite content with Oz's promise to take care and everything, so he'll stop figuratively piecing and dominating her with his gaze alone by looking to the side. For quite a while he says nothing and lets comfortable silence reign, all while he looks lost in his own thoughts and mind.

Soon however he does speak up, quite calmly so. Nothing about him indicates that it was indeed about time to head to the agreed meeting point for a no doubt eventful challenge and trial... "How right you are. Let us.....get going then, shall we, dear Oz?" He'll offer Oz his hand, insightfully his natural one.

We'll pick up and withdraw Myra from wherever she lounges currently ("Had a pleasant downtime and enjoyed the admiration and appreciation you rightfully deserve? How lovely, truly so."), give our farewells to Sylvia ("Until we may meet again, dear Sylvia... Or not, that is upon you and what fate has planned for us. Though I sure did enjoy getting to know you."), thank the Cafe's staff for the plasant downtime and good service ("May this place thrive, for it is a lovely haven of peace in this busy city.") and make most haste towards that (quote)'wide open field near the edge of Bayhama's Resident District - far away from any nearby buildings or any potential gatherings of people that such a place can possibly be here'(quote ends). What a suprise to find such a place in the busy and bustling city that Bayhama is!

Is Zephy already around here or does she come back to us along the way? She stayed with the Gleams and it's been agreed that she'll be returning once it's time for that trial. Whatever that trial turns out to be, can't say Bernhard's (internally) tense and on edge because of it.

(doesnt the training count as a third encounter? at least I believe it does for both me and dragon. for now I'll assume that it is now the fourth.)

The professor gets a quick message asking about when/where to meet up for the fang exchange. He would thank Seddi again for his help and wave his goobyes before returning to the reception desk.

''Well then, seems like I'm not busy tonight. Good time to get to know each other don't ya think? You choose the place, after all I'm far from having seen everything that this city has to offer.''
