RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 07-27-2024 (07-27-2024, 09:52 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: In terms of handling Weather, Water Scimitar are typically the ones that fair best in Rain and similarly Stormy Weather (Like Hail), while the Earth Scimitars deal with the Sun and Sand handily. Air Scimitars, by contrast, could be considered middling in capability in most usual Extreme Weather Condition, but either are rapidly able to adapt to most change to bend it to their advantage or chose to 'go with the flow' rather than dominate or endure like the other factions of Scimitars. Air Scimitar also typically specialize in other Field Conditions or Tactics when performing magic or in their work, such as the use of Terrains or (commonly) Ariel Superiority, Wind Control, or more rarely stuff like Air Pressure and Force of Convection to mimic Barriers, Gravity, and Temperature Control. 'Freedom' was a core tenant of the Air Scimitars; like the winds, they are unbound and change at their whim.[/align] Yes, indeed! My Idea to walk around relatively safely during that mild Hurricane is to combine several 'smaller' aspects/skills of Bernhard into one big thing for max. effect; in particular these: - Naturally the air affinity of his, seeing the hurricane not as a hinderance but as something to make use of to his own advantage (Ariel Superiority and Wind Control) - The Spell you mentioned to shield him from most of the rainfall (good thinking there, many thanks my dear! Probably not the first time Bern was suprised by bad weather during his travels but had no other choice than to take it?) - Walk around WITH the storm, not against it (but cautiously enough to not be blown facefirst into things) - Make use of the slipstream whenever possible - Make use of Graduation Air cast via Innate Casting on ourselves if things are getting dire, to change trajectory of us mid-air to avoid taking damage - Zephy's Flight Skill, but not for actual flying but for parkour - Accelating our speed via Quick Attack cast via Evocation from Myra (or Nirix, who is exhausted and at -1 pain however) - Possibly Safeguard from Myra via Evocation to protect us from anything the storm my throw onto us/suffering Ailments through the hurricane or rain - Whatever remains, take it either through sheer will or out of spite ...That's quite a lot, but Bernhard won't make use of everything at once/use only what's needed to walk around in relative safety to not stress himself and his Gauntlet too much. Would that work if he does happen to step outside? ----------- For Encounter No.1 however we're NOT leaving the room at the Magi Embassy however - unless something comes up that forces Bernhard to do so. Nope, what he'll do is stay there and summon both Myra and Zephy to his side. How are these two doing this morning? (Myra in particular after she had some pleasant times of admiration and appreciation at the foxy Cafe; Zephy after she spent time with the Gleams/playing with Saph while her Master was at the Cafe with Oz.) "A pleasant and good morning to you two. *pauses to just observe them* You two doing well on this stormy day and after having aided me on that...test yesterday night? *sighs* I'm good, just...exhausted since that was TRUELY something." To Zephy in particular: "So..... You enjoyed your downtime with the Gleams? How far are you with your splendid artwork to present the fateful process of having cured dear Saph?" (since that was requested for her to create/work on to get hung up in his private quarters, just because I think that whole thing was more than meaninful enough for Bernhard to do that) To Myra in particular: Bernhard takes a bit to simply brush though her magnificent and silky golden fur. "Do tell me dear one, you feeling healthy? No ailments or pain bothering you? Since there is something...I'd like to request of you please, if you're fine with it. Something I've wished to do for a day or to already, but simply haven't found the time yet." On a sidenote also, how possible is it to go for a process of alchemistic creation inside the room of the Magi Embassy AND under the -1 Exhaustion? In particular processing the Houndoom parts given by Darren/@Mikaruge108, to which we'll - as requested - invite him to watch and possibly aid for Encounter No.2 IF crafting things is not completely doomed to fail under the current state. Im fine with abridging, saves me and you some time. His approach will be bold yet honest as usual. Stuff like the journey to the wilds, limitations and the eventual return to alola (I.e. may be dealbreakers) will be brought up early to prevent them from maybe being a problematic surprise later on. I'll leave the wake up place to how the night goes. Should it be a success it'll be at her residence, if not the center works. (morning actions will be based on the outcome) RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Lord Windos - 07-27-2024 (07-27-2024, 01:05 PM)Redstone Wrote:(07-27-2024, 06:35 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: As for our lovely heroes... Straightforward approach, eh? Let's see how it goes: The tour guide - Jessica, as she properly introduces yourself over a dinner at a local seafood restaurant - would be unsurprised by you inclination to brave the frontier (given you earlier questions), but you mentioning you planning on returning to Alola gives her some pause for a moment.... Smooth Talk: Base 5 + 2 (Honesty and Charming) (5)(2)(3)(4)(6)(5)(4) 5 Successes! Jessica's Reaction: Will *5 + 2 (Initial Shock) (5)(6)(4)(4)(6)(2)(6) 6 Successes... Fortune Roll Engaged: *Rolls* Hmm...good enough! ....Before she lets out a sigh and lightly shakes her head. The woman isn't happy about that, but is not terribly upset either by the looks of it; seems like she also expected that sort of answer on some level. Or you're that good at smoothing bad news over (a valuable skill to have for a man in your position and with lofty aspirations). You're spared further awkward of a potentially negative response when Lani pops out and jumps up to wack you in the head, giving you a stern and disapproving look for screwing up your potential mating ritual with the decent enough woman. She then proceeds to show you how to properly share bad news with an elaborate but gorgeous dance.... 5 + 2 + *4 = 11D6 Dice (5)(2)(6)(3)(2) (2)(3)(4)(5)(6) (5) ...Which has the whole restaurant looking in awe and excitement, earning you two several laughs and cheers and a couple of photos. Jessica was initially stunned....before she started laughing at your wounded expression and the little spectacle, holding one hand over her mouth the entire time. From there, the dinner date went well: you were able to get into a little about why you must return and sharing some stories from your homelands, which went over well by the smiles and interested look. In turn, she let you know all about her job and some wild stories of her own times out in the field, including a treck through the Picaross Mangroves to rescue some group that got lost and ended up staying with a band of Dire Dartz for a time. She's not too eager to get into details about a Malefic Species (due to obvious security and safety concerns).... Secret Roll: *Rolls* .... *Rolls*.... ...But with a little charm and reminding her you plan to go there regardless of what she said gets her to open up a bit about them: they're frog-like Pokemon with a rather distinct appearance, HIGHLY POISONOUS, very tribal and communal, wary of outsiders and quick to provoke, and very intelligent, to the point of being on par with the average Human. If you are ever approached by one, it means you've entered their territory and they are confronting you over it, or you've caught their attention somehow; at that point it's best to state your intentions clearly and leave if requested. And were you see one, many more are waiting in the shadows and undergrowth, watching and waiting to see what they should do... All things told the Dinner Date went well - and Lani's Performance earned you two a free dinner due to how well she did! - the two of you in high spirits and a good mood as you left the restaurant. So good, in fact, that she does indeed give you an invitation to accompany her home, giving it with a sweet yet sly smile and a seductive hint to her tone. "Might not be spending too much time together, but we can at least make some memories that'll last a lifetime...." I'll leave it to you if anything more happens with her this night; regardless, you're welcomed to stay with her at her place. You'll also be the first to awaken in the morning, with Jess sleeping in and completely dead to the world (Heavy Sleeper!). Her kitchen is fully stocked, including an deluxe coffee machine that can make a mean expresso, so you can treat yourself as you get the news and prepare for the day. ...Though you have a mild headache in spite of everything, and rubbing your head and feeling a big goose-egg you know why. Looks like your body has had a delayed reaction to Lani's authoratative demonstration.... 1 Pain for the next Encounter for you and your Pokemon! RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Lord Windos - 07-27-2024 (07-27-2024, 01:01 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: Hmm....none of that is a definitive solution, but together It all those magical measures and technic may work in making traveling through the raging storm bearable (and perhaps even enjoyable). I'll give you two options in regards to how things will turn out with the above measures: - You'll face a one or more Dex based Survival Roll as you travel outside with variable modifers. Pass them, and you don't waste time or get caught up in some mess that could prove Dangerous. Fail, and something guaranteed will happen that is either Bad or posses a significant challenge; in either event the Encounter will still cost extra Time Slots to complete. - You'll get through the storm without a Roll and no delays (No Time wasted), but you'll take further Exhaustion and have Random Difficulties happen to you based on a Fortune Roll per Trip through the storm. Choose one, and that will be the outcome of the countermeasures you stated. ----- Myra is in high spirits after a previous day of delights, miracles, and triumph, giving you an affectionate nuzzle and waves of her tails. The mini-Hurricane outside isn't dampening her good mood at all - though she does jump and bristle at the occasional BOOM of thunder or loud splatter. Your question is meet with a mild confusion at first, but she does give you an affirmative yip, looking at you with no small amount of curiosity now... Zephy, on the other hand, is QUITE drowsy as you summoned her, rubbing one eye with a paw before floating over to your bed and snuggling right in, giving you a sleepy wave and tired smile as you strike up the conversation as she lays on her back on your pillow. "*Yawns* ...Mmrgh. Morning, Sammy. Yeah, I had a blast. Lil' girl was so energetic she was practically vibrating with all she wanted to do, and she wanted to share that with me now that you were gone. Ended up throwing a whole tea party for me and the Ghost friends she made, and I couldn't say no to her with the Growlithe eyes she gave me. *Sighs with a tiny smile* Cut into the time I had to paint, but it was worth it. Need to go back over there and finish the paintings, but it can wait. Got done with the Gleam's portrait, but only halfway done with yours; I'll get it nice and done when we grace them again. *Giggles* 'Sides, if you visited now you'd probably get roped into her antics and whatever the Gleams have planned for you; Ezzy was hush hush on the details, but she implied that you're getting no less than a king's ransom for the miracles you pulled off. *Happily huffs* Just like you deserve, and I won't hear anything Contrary to it!" As you're in the Magi Embassy and are of a fairly high rank (to put it mildly), your Room is both fully accommodate for all kinds of magic and the staff here will get you any basic tool at your request if you send word to them via a convenient phone place on a nightstand nearby. This include a miniature lab area off to the side, complete with a desk + supplies to take notes that come with a lockbox (Sturdy and Magically Protected) to keep anything you want/make in it safe and sound. More exotic or specific requests for Ingredients or Special Tasks are subject to approval and/or Costs, though! You can still make things while Exhausted; you'll have a - 1 Success on all your Rolls, but it doesn't prevent you from trying anyway. Not the first time you've done your work or research tired; sometimes, you've had your best results yet while under such wearying pressure. Other times....well, it's nothing you haven't Toughed out and learnt from. He sighs at the sight of the news and after looking out of the window, there go most activities for the day. Maybe it wasn't all bad though, more of a reason to stay here for a while. ''Thanks for the help Lani, just what would I do without ya girl.'' He grins while giving her some pets. ''I should have ya use dragon dance more often, that was really good. You could maybe be a bit more gentle with the hit next time though...'' ''Oh well, time to get started.'' He pours himself a strong coffee and gets started on making breakfast for himself, his crew and Jess when she wakes up. With that stuff going on outside he was happy to take it slow for the day, deciding on a little training session for his team in the mornin. A mental one that was, the grand meelee situation hasn't left his mind and he was determined to prevent a situation like that from happening again. It was time to discuss battle tactics about working well in a team situation, especially since commands aren't as clear cut as usual. The focus lies on spread moves, choosing targets and protecting each other from deadly attacks. RE: [Game Thread] Lord Windos’ PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 07-27-2024 Ohhh, the room with all the utensils and equipment for magical crafting is perfect!~ No comparison to Bernhard's own and personal lab at his quarters on the Magecracy, nope, but more than gratefully taken and pleasantly approved + taken note of. Yeah, he does enjoy this place. Thank you, being a Scimitar of high ranks and political importance! Maybe the latter isn't as much of a mild inconvenience as they always claim it to be. That means a text gets sent to Darren (another ping for you @Mikaruge108) rather soon, answer pending. It reads the following: Quote:Greetings and a good morning on this stormy and rainy day, Darren. Drowsy Zephy is, as much as Bernhard is reluctant to openly admit, incredibly adorable to see. So much that he lets the artsy birdmouse that is his destinied partner get away with taking us his bed without asking first. ...And gently nuzzle her cheek with one hand, none's around to see that open display of affection anway plus she deserves it after having done marvelous during Ianai's test yesterday without exhausting herself like Nirix and Spritzee did. "That's pleasant to hear, truely and utterly so, dear Zephy. Sounds to me like Saph is doing well after all that happened, and now proceeds to savor being gifted a second chance of roaming the living world." Bernhard does not mention it, but Zephy speaking about 'Ghost friends she made' sounds a tad bit worrying to him - but on the other side, if she sees them as her friends and they do so likewise, it should be just fine, or shouldn't it? He waves off Zephy having had to cut off time to paint. "Oh, that is of no issue. Do not rush perfection, and rest assured that we will pay the Gleams another visit or visits for several reasons. *glances at the hurricane outside* Maybe not too soon, but soon enough. Wish to speak with them, inquire about things while you may continue to paint..." Bernhard's modest and humble of calling what occured 'a miracle' like Zephy does, even if it does rightfully count as one in his books. One that will be fondly and proudly remembered, as costy as it was on his side, and one that gives him quite the food for thought still (and quite likely continues to do so for a while). 'Kings ransom'? Yes please, gimme! Sweet loot, yay! They (the Gleams) may take any time they need and be as secretive about as needed, and Bernhard will humblly accept it with open arms. Myra, our trusty and affectionate kitsune, being in high spirits after anything that occured yesterday is very pleasant to see indeed. Bernhard will redirect her attention back to her Master and Wielder whenever she gets startled or distracted by the thunder and splattering rain outside. "You doing quite well? How dear and utmost pleasant to see. *gently petting her neckfur* Now then, do listen closely now..." Here's what we'll do, in that order. If anything of it needs to get rolled, go for it, if anything is downright impossible or doable only with notable negative consequences, please do tell and I'll edit accordingly: - Cut off a tad bit of her fur, bonus points if it is one of her tail's fur. Not too much but more than just one or two hairs, in total to gain at least one unit of clipped off Ninetales Fur. - Applying utmost care and caution, make a tiny prick or cut to one of her foreleg's cephalic vein to draw a bit of blood from her leaking gently in a trinckle. Think taking a blood sample vets and doctors do, but on a more 'amateur's' approach. Enough to receive a small vial full = 1 unit of Ninetales Blood, not enough for her to suffer dire negative effects (bar potentially discomfort of mild pain). Have our other Pokemon help if needed (for example have Zephy cool Myra's foreleg with her ice skills, cast Protect from exhausted Spritzee over Myra via Evocation). - Patch up the wound, as best as a Bernhard can. If not safely possible for him, say that he'll bring her to Oz to do so professionally. - If needed, cast a Heal Pulse from exhausted Nirix or Aromaterhapy from exhausted Spritzee to dispell any pain or discomfort of Myra. - Ask Myra to 'imbude' or 'infuse' the fur clippings and blood with some of her psychic powers or affinity to the spectral world in any way she can and is willing to do. Bonus Points if making use of her held Spell Tag. Bernhard can and will aid her on doing so if requested. - Reward her thoroughly for having allowed and endured it all with whatever she desires - pets, treats, cuddles (which Bernhard somewhat begrudingly allows), the promise of a battle for her, another visit to the foxy Cafe, downtime etc. Thank her greatly so, and let her know what he plans to do with the gained Items if she wishes to know. Combine that with all the work and stress that comes with being a part of the Scimitar Council and you get more than a mere inconvenience when it comes to managing the workload between all your other competing interests (and in the case of Morgana that's all too literal). Still, you've managed it quite well despite being a relatively young Magi; something your Mentor hold no small amount of pride and satisfaction over. Your fond pets gets you a sleepy bat of the paw from the artistic muse, but the fond smile she has isn't fooling anyone here at how much she enjoys it. " 'K.....wasn't going to anyway, but if you insist then I guess I must let my ever fluttering whismy rest for once, te he~! Perhaps the break will give me time to dream up of an even better way to complete my latest great work! *Yawns* Since I don't think you'll be needing my undivided attention for whatcha ever doing, I'll be dozing for a bit. Feel free to use my Power if ya need it though - you know I'm used to giving it no matter what by now." That said your Partner immediately conks out, snoring cutely on your pillow as she curls up. Daw.... Contrary to your expectations - or perhaps not at all, since you are a Moderate Scimitar - your fanciful kitsune has zero concerns or reservations about you Extracting Magical Materials from her. If fact she's eager for it; seeing Nirix and rarely Zephy provide such has kindled a passion to 'give a part of herself' too for your benefit, no matter what purpose it may be for. You've given her the world, after all; the least she can do is share as much as she can. For the Harvesting: Fox Fur and Blood, I'll be doing a few Rolls. One Grooming Roll for the Fur, One Medical Roll for the Blood - and further Rolls depending on how that one goes - and one Channel Roll focused on Myra's Stats for her to attempt to Imbue the Fur and Blood with MORE of her POWER and ESSENSE. Here goes! Grooming Roll! DEX + Knowledge + Crafts - 3 (Have to be Careful...) (6)(2)(1)(6) (3)(2)(6)(5) 4 Successes! You Successfully are able to obtain 2 Units of Fox Fur from Myra! She writhed a bit as you sniped her tails, but with intense focus and determination on her part she remained still, refusing to bend to her instincts to lash out at them being 'damaged' . Blood Extraction Roll! INS + Knowledge + Medicine - 5 (A Doctor, you are not...) ; 2 Successes needed for the minimum positive outcome (2)(4)(3)(5) 2 Successes! You Successfully are able to obtain 1 Unit of Pure Fox Blood; Myra takes 2 Damage from the procedure, however. It isn't Lethal, so simply wrapping it with some bandages and some rest should she her fit by the next Encounter, if a touch more tired from the blood loss. Bit messy, but she simply licks it clear from your hands and a bit of magic cleaning does the rest. Infusing Roll: Myra! SPE + Knowledge + Channel + 1 (Spell Tag) + 1 (Magical Species/Magi's Mon) - 6 (Tired from Blood Loss + Inexperience) (3)(5)(4) (1) 2 Successes.... *Rolls* Hmm...not good. *Rolls* Well. That changes things. *Rolls + ??? + ???* Success. At first it seems like her attempts to further empower her 'products' were about to fizzle out, but she suddenly grit and bore her teeth as her eyes took on a deep fuchsia glow, her tails rising up and wreathed with ethereal power as she concentration on the Items. They glowed for a moment before the light dispelled, leaving before you a couple of bundles of woven, braided dark ruddy red fur, faint wisps of heat and affirmation whifting off it. Fur and Blood lost: 2 Units of Kitsune's Crimson Rope. ...And Myra promptly collapses, losing 3 Will and Fainting with her half her current HP in the process, the stress of forcing a truly Positive and Successful outcome by herself taking its toll. You suspect that it's due to both her inexperience and 'newness' of being a Ninetales, but also because she tried to Imbue everything at once rather than doing one at a time, and her drive to not mess up on her first 'offering' to you. Something you would account for in your own Alchemic Creations and Research, but for a Mon that was not ever trained or naturally inclined in such things? One who's devotion is so ardent, who doesn't ever want to fail you? Oh dear. Lesson learnt: if you're going to have your Mons do a job you typically do, be absolutely clear on what they should do and what limits they have. Kitsune's Crimson Rope: The blessed and empowered hair of a magical fox, woven into tight braids and dye a deep red. It shines faintly in the light, and gives off a mild heat that is both warming and comforting. Rare Magical Creation; it's uses are many, but using it in clothing to create powerful protective Enchantments or as a potent ingredient to refine other Ritual or Alchemic Creations would be the most desired by your estimation. Price: Unknown, but High. Lani simply gives a 'Well obviously' sort of look and a self-satisfied huff, already knowing she was the one that helped salvage that courtship attempt. She has zero remorse for the harm she caused; you earnt it in her eyes! Honestly, not leading with a Dance to woo your partner and open them up to you...how dense can you be? Then she takes a sniff and wrinkles her nose, before scowling. She gives you a look, before pointing to where the bathroom is. The message is clear: clean yourself up, so I don't have to bear that scent. Mental Training and Teaching Tactics and Strategy? Excellent Idea! Kayla (who is able to fit in the spacious living room without trouble, much to both your delight) looks especially intrigued, but Ecclesia seems dismissive and simply lays down to nap. Lani doesn't seem terribly interested, but she simply nods to your idea, recognizing the wisdom of the Training even if it Clashes against part of her Instincts. Nalu is just happy to be included! The Bio Fang...well, I presume you make them remain in their Ball for the time being; still need to decide if you're going to send them off to the Professor soon or not! All that said, everyone but Ecclessia will participate in the Training willingly; if you're okay with this then confirm it, but otherwise state what else you want to do leading up and into said Teaching. She checks her phone seeing the messages, with a worried face. She sighs and then takes a look at her Pokemon. “Girls, we're gonna have a long day. We're gonna go to Tiffany Koffee shop. We must do our mission to help adopt Meza as quickly as possible. We must be careful though since John, the leader of the BB’s still is not appreend yet. He’s probably going to try again to ambush us, so we must be always on high alert just in case he tries something again. Be ready to go outside of the Pokeball Fortuna in case that guy tries that again.” Oz will also check the wounds of Dite and Bethy, and see if she can do something about it with her knowledge about medicine. Maybe it can work in this case, despite her stress? I don’t know if Oz can try to make that energy drink she made in the previous days she make for the medics when she worked with Doctor Peace. Regardless if she can do those things or not, she try to get some protection for today's weather, and follows the path towards the Koffee shop, but always double checking her surroundings to not be ambushed by John and his BB’s again. |
