Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Dragonstrike - 10-07-2016 Yeah, we get it. Inflagetah is fast and powerful, just like the other mons the Ninja Masters carry. But the fact that those Inflagetah come with both Flame Impact and Extreme Speed is annoying as heck, and makes EV training for speed unnecessarily hard. The priority moves will wear you down completely sooner or later, making extended use of the ninja's training battle exceedingly difficult. Instead of getting a reliable 30 EVs per battle with the exp share and pokerus, you have to use either the punching bag or the 60% encounter rate for Frynai in route 14's waters as the alternative speed training sources due to that unfortunate movepool selection. There are two main options for making it a more reasonable and faster way to train that I can see. 1. Manually change the Inflagetahs' movesets in that battle so they don't have the priority attacks. At the moment, they just use their level up moves, of which they have none beyond their starting moves, including the deadly Acceleration boosted priority attacks. This would preserve the 15/30 EVs per battle you would gain (since Inflagetah and Archilles want to be weird and have 3 speed EV gains). 2. Change the pokemon the Speed Ninja Master uses. Viable options that have no priority of any kind at level 52 and a 2 Speed EV yield would be Floatzel, Terlard (Arena Trap could potentially be annoying though), Eshouten, S51-A, Jolteon, and Raffiti. I'd recommend using Jolteon or Floatzel, tbh, as they're both typically known for their speed and aren't overly threatening nor carry weird gimmicks. It's also notable that Jolteon base exp yield is right in the middle of Floatzel and Inflagetahs'. Seeing either of these changes would greatly ease the difficulty of EV training in the Speed stat, which would be a positive change as a whole. Note: I wrote this when I realized just how much those Inflagetah wore down my pokemon, and how often I had to go back to the pokemon center to heal. That speed training had gone beyond just mindless OTKs, and that's not a good thing for EV training. RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Harmony - 10-07-2016 I have nothing to say except that I wholeheartedly agree. RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - MonkeyLord83 - 10-07-2016 Yep, I said it before and I'll say it again, Ayumi's Inflagetah can go back to HELL where they belong!!! The only 3 ways I was able to EV train speed was: 1. Punching bag the whole time. 2. Over level my Electruxo af. 3. Punching in the rain: Send Electruxo out, Mega it up, kill 1-2 Inflag with surf, then switch to Empirilla with Drain Punch to finish off the rest. Rinse and repeat for another 2 times until I'm out of PP for Drain Punch and my ele is on the brink of death (Rain is so Empirilla won't get oneshoted and can effectively drain punching)... RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Lord Windos - 10-08-2016 Eh, I would like to disagree, for the sake of arguing, but I have to say those Inflagetah's can be annoying as fuck if you don't have the right 'mon. My Beliaddon can take them easily, but even then it gets worn down after a couple of battles, and I have to reset at the Center. When a lv 90 Beliaddon is brought low by a hoard of Inflagetahs, you know something is wrong in the force.... RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Cataclyptic - 10-08-2016 Yes, it's very annoying to speed train with so many priority moves. Agree with the above people. RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Androziel - 10-08-2016 So let's make it easier? No not gonna happen. That's the moveset that was given and it's going to stay that way because thats the way the cookie crumbles. I don't think they were trying to make the fight easier, mind you, but a whole lot more time efficient to grind for EV's. 'Cause, practically speaking, your going to have LV 80-100 'mons fighting the Ninja's to EV train lowering lv pokemon with the EXP Share, and use the punching bag to get the EV faster/safer for lower LV Pokémon. If you want to grind EXP, their are other trainers that don't have as annoying pokemon to deal with. Not planning on arguing with you about it, though. Just want to give you my perspective of the matter, that is all. RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - RayquazaLord - 10-08-2016 I don't think they are necessarily asking for it to be "easier", but instead more balanced. Inflagetah can seem pretty unbalanced when it's using Priority moves. Tiko's Inflagetah in the Amatree gym is the only Pokemon in any gym that's given me any issue whatsoever. The time it takes is another factor, and someone on the subreddit did mention that the punching bag is faster. However, it's only faster if you're only training one pokemon in that stat. If you somehow have many exp shares and want to train more than one pokemon at the same time, the battles will be far more time efficient than training each one up individually with the punching bag, particularly considering pokerus will actually do its job in the battles. And the attention needed for both is another factor. The difference between the two isn't major on this front, but the battles have a slight edge in how little attention you can pay to what's going on as long as you cleanly OTK everything and heal up at the pokemon center when needed (which is preferably not after every single or every other battle). RE: Change the Speed Ninja Master's Pokemon in Some Way - Apollad - 10-13-2016 I know it's a bit slower to grind on, but why not use a Natural Cure Corsoreef with Calm Mind, Surf & Aqua Ring and XP share the other pokemon. It's native defenses are really nice, and added in with it's typing (Rock/Water) Means that Aqua Ring will likely out-heal the damage Inflagetah can do. Calm Mind is there to setup for the cycle through. I wouldn't recommend using a Sharp Coral Corsoreef however, despite the jump in power, as it does need some level of setup first. |
