D&D Monster: Dragonflesh Forged - Spiritmon - 02-14-2023

Howdy Uranium community! How you all doing? I been doing good. I have been dming my own D&D campaigh, and people...its been wild. I might soon shared some of the stories that been happened with my players and me.

I might soon shared the plot and the setting here in the forums, but right now, I want to show you all one of my creations: The Dragonflesh Forged! Basically a humanoid who suffer experiments in the hands of evil Dragons in my campaigh called "Obsidian Dragons", a type of evil dragon with scales similar to a obsidian stone, and who also have Psionic Abilities.

Those Dragonflesh Forged were humanoid slaves who receive experiments in the hands of the Obsidian Dragons to be used as a main source of militar battle on a great war in my campaigh called "Obsidian War" who last for 300 years, and only end 30 years ago. Those beings could only be command by Obsidian Dragons, and when their masters was either killed or seal away, the Dragonflesh fleed, hiding either in the dark places, or hunting in the wild. They became animals, but with a rather limit level of a human, but very limited. They are like beasts and killing machines. And in certain events, they can evolve and become Dragonflesh Abominations, a more complete form as a dragon. There gonna be soon a stat block of this creature. You can use it in your table, or make any modifications you want!

Here the link for the stat block.

Late on a response and I'm aware of it, sorry for that. m(_ _;m)

Sounds like kind of a cruel creation, these Dragonflesh Forged, given they're slaves and experimented on. Would it be possible that, once encountered and defeated, to try recruit one of them to train or brainwash them into an ally to fight with you? Not for you, with you, as in 'not commanding them like a master'.

Ah no problem friend. Dont fret about it.

Indeed. Well, maybe a recent created Dragonflesh is possible to persuade, since its mind problably not FULLY devoured by the by draconic blood in his veins and his mind complete warp by the Obsidian Dragon. So it is possible.

But a old one? Almost impossible, since its mind could might be already gone so far, and all thats left is Mindless creature with the sole purpose is kill and destroy everything in its path. And impossible to be tamed or control by anyone unless you are a Obsidian Dragon. Or a REALLY powerfull Gem Dragon.

In D&D Gem Dragons is special, since they have a strong conection to a power called Psionics. Its a big complicated concept, but to put in short, is basically a power who born from the mind of the user, and can have cool things you see most of the time: Read minds. Telekinesis. Make things burn. The usual stuff. It is a rare gift among certain individuals, but there races who have a innate power to psionics, and Gem Dragons have a connection to it. And Obsidian Dragons is a Gem Dragon, the most vicious and mallevolent one. They basically mind fuck the Dragonflesh Forged in many ways. Like its said, the method they used is a mystery, but the main ingredient is flesh from a dragon. ANY dragon flesh.

Yeah, including other Obsidian Dragon. They dont respect even the dead of their own kind. In my campaigh, MOST Dragonflesh is either extinct or hiding in the dephs of the earth, and most of them is old. REALLY REALLY old.

And its get worse: In certain circunstances, a Dragonflesh Forged can though a mutation and become a being know as Dragonflesh Abomination, a full mutated dragon with even less humanoid appearance but a mockery and...wrong appearance of what suppose to be a dragon.

Stronger, faster, a powerfull breath weapon and now with the ability to fly, but loosing any leftover of humanity within. I might soon post a Thread here with the information and stat blocks of the Dragonflesh Abomination just for reference.

And @Iron, since you run a D&D campaigh, you could use this creature too if you and make any modifications you want.

Ah, so basically 'Nope, not possible unless you find a way to completely mindf#ck the Dragonflesh Forged all over again'. In that case, it'd probably better to defeat them upon encounter and then move onwards.

Or you find a way to trigger some positive change. Like some kind of memory of someone the Dragonflesh Forged once love. Like a memento of his disease loved one. Maybe carrying a sword of his long dead master might bring a moment of clarity.

Even killing it's kinda of a merciful way, since even if you manage to bring the humanity back, his body is forever change. But there is a positive trait. Since is really rare times, like dragons, Dragonflesh Forged can gain strength the more time pass (since dragons grow stronger the more time is passes).

IF a Dragonflesh get control of his mind and form, and don't transform into a Dragonflesh Abomination, they can a new kind of race. A Dragonflesh Reforged. It's like the humanoid side taking control of it's beast form. However it is pretty rare. Only 1 among 100 Forged could truly become a Reforged one. They even more rare than Gem Dragonborn.
