Pokemarket and follow addition - Pokesketcher - 01-28-2017

This is not a Pokemart, this is a place to get essential berries and herbs. There will also be a 1 serving sample of stews and soups made with berries and other ingredients

These are what it includes:

*Aromatic herb 3500$ (that some people may have sold already [oops XD])
*Status lifting berries (40$ each)
*Friendship Decreasing berries (Twice the price compared to flower shop, and the berries increase base stats)
*Smoothie section (Using herbs and berries, it will have a number of effects. Stats raising, sweetness factors {increases friendship, Bitterness factors {Decreases friendship, and some veggie smoothies (mainly for herbivore pokemon such as turtle and some sea dwelling pokemon)

Last but not least, can we make it to where your pokemon trails behind you? (imagine being cramped in a ball .003x your size except for battles XD)

At least with the Pokemon following thing, that'd require an extra bit of coding, a lot more sprites, and possibly lower the framerate slightly because more is happening on the screen at one time. I'm not an expert, but I think if we see it it won't be for a while.

I disagree with the reverse EV berries, but don't mind basically everything else there. The smoothies would definitely take more time though.

I see. Maybe the reverse EV berries would not be a good thing as people would use them far too often and also increase the power of the move "frustration". Well, I guess this will stay an Idea for now.

Besides the idea probably being impractical to code, at this point in time, where would this berry market be placed at? Location, location, location, people!

RE: Pokemarket and follow addition - Pokesketcher - 01-30-2017

The location would probably be in bealbeach city next to the pokemart.

Why not the upcoming Angle Town? That place could use some interesting attractions for players!

Wow, I didn't know that would be there! Thanks!

I assume that, since the devs are adding the rest of the Pokémon in the game and finishing up all the post game quest, they would get around to implementing the town. Only a logical deduction, I suppose.

RE: Pokemarket and follow addition - TheTainted_Wisdom - 12-14-2019

That would be a MASSIVE pain in the ass for the Devs for such tremendously gimmicky things.

First of all, the Spritzee trade items can be acquired easily by just making another save file, and you'd get BOTH of them.
Secondly, Friendship decreasing berries to increase stats are worthless, especially if they cost even MORE when the training ninjas + Pokerus and the brace items make EV training a breeze, and on top of that Return does slightly more damage than Frustration and is way easier to maintain.
Third, there are plenty of berries for free, the Lum Berry is pretty much the only one anyone would want, and the Watering can item can increase their berry yield.
Forth, unless the smoothies could act like candies that raise IVs, there's really nothing at all new from a mechanics standpoint.
Fifth, coding Pokemon sprites to follow you would be a goddamn nightmare to get done, ESPECIALLY when the main game quest, side quests, legendary encounters, diving spots, and MORE aren't even done. Even if that were implemented, I don't see it going beyond a couple of starter sprites for quite some time.
