"Young lady, you should sharp your stealth skills more. You can't surprise a old experience ninja." Due to the forums eat my post, I will keep things simple: Susano'o use Swords Dance, Hidden Power and Aqua Jet on Flareon. All power up by Sheer Force. Aspido will use Rain Dance, Withdraw and Stone on Flareon. In case Flareon faint, use on Crobat. If things get nasty, Potion right away. Also, no lethal damage please. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 10-16-2019 (10-16-2019, 03:33 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: The interior of the building looks and feels like nothing like Randolph was likely expecting. It's warm and cozy, the bed in the corner is made, there's a candle lit on a table in the dining area, there's a pot of something cooking on the stove (and it smells delicious, too!)... Well, if you say Ran's caught off guard by the unexpectedly homeliness of the now not so abandoned house, so be it! He's visibly startled to not see the interior in a state of disrepair or long suffering vacancy, blinking a few times and rubbing both his eyes as he takes everything in. That's soon put to a stop when the old lady the champ mention jolted him out of his slight stupor ('Einfache häusliche Schrecken, wie habe ich sie vorher nicht bemerkt ?!), prompting him to snap his attention straight to the gram gram before trying pass it off his overall reaction with a cough. "Ehrm....yes. Thank ya kindly, mam." He paced over to the table and took a seat across from his now old hostess, now looking more composed and respectful, but still ever so minutely confused as to what the heck was going on. Then with a mental scoff he dismissed such feelings and settled in, adjusting himself in the seat so that he was both comfortable and could actually look his elder in the eye. 'Bah, to hell with trying to figure this out. So long as whatever is going on here doesn't try to damn or entrap me soul and is hospitable, it can keep its own mysteries.' It took several seconds for the dwarven blacksmith to ponder what else to say to her, before he settled on fairly straightforward introductions. "Name's Randolph Schmidt, but you can call me Ran, mam. It's nice to meet ya. As for my intrusion here, I saw this little abode while I was hiking out here with my partners and decided to check it out while they were off on their own business. Hopefully my visit ain't a bother to ya, mam." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 10-17-2019 Link to Original Post ---------------------------- Kee nudges Karen once again after she awoke from her stupor caused by the mssy place, this time with a little more emphasis. "C'mon, it's impolite to stare. ( `ε´ ) We're guests, we're allowed to warm ourselves up here, show a lil' bit of gratitude!" Octavia also chirps (or whatever the sound of a Sylveon could be called) at Karen as if she's worrying whether the young lady's fine, and uses a ribbon of hers to pick up a cup from the table and place it in Karen's lap. Back to the Hiker, and back to a cup of nice hot coffee. A lights smile forms on Kee's expression over the Hiker's description of the view from atop of Mount Coronet, it seems like he's imagining said view and is already looking forward to experience it himself. He doesn't feel like it's a suprise nor coincidence that the to Spear Pillar's obscured by clouds, THAT place must be really high up...! "And what kinds of Pokemon did ya encounter in said caves? Bet they have barely ever seen a human, living high up in caves of a high mountain range, have they?" Ohhhh, he's also happy over the offer to search for some loot outside, yes!~~ "Well, if that's 'kay for ya, I'd gladly look for some nice things to keep, could be useful for our travels! *big sip of coffee* ....After having finished this cup, that is. Let's see, a dowsin' machine we don't have, but we have our Pokemon! How 'bout... Oh yes, my recently adopted Fire Types (Vulpix and Salandit) and Core (with Flamethrower) could clear some of the snow, and you've got... a Pokemon with a keen sense of smell, don't ya, Karen? (Her Mightyena) That should work just as well if not even better than a this machine." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 10-27-2019 Multi Battle Round 1 Every trainer on the battlefield orders their pokemon to begin (de)buffing before going on the offensive. Susano'o's fins grow sharp as he waves them about. Swords Dance 1 (4)(4)(3)(2)(2)(2) +2 Strength for Susano'o Flareon cloaks itself in fire and charges at Susano'o! "That looks like a Water/Steel type, Flareon! Take it down quickly!" orders Jacob. Flame Charge 1 3 Dex + 4 Fight + 4 Brawl - 2 = 9 (6)(2)(3)(4)(3)(5)(3)(3)(5) 5 Str + 2 Pow + STAB - 3 = 3 D6 (3)(3)(1)(1)(1) Susano'o fearlessly faces the charge head on, grabbing Flareon by the head and throwing them back to the opposing side of the battlefield before they actually make any kind of meaningful contact with him! Flareon's Dex increases by 1! It's now at the top of the initiative. Cassidy orders her Golbat to be tricksy, like any good ninja she's read about and dreamed of being! "Let's take out that weird looking crab pokemon, Golbat!" Confuse Ray 1 9 base - 2 = 7 (6)(2)(3)(5)(4)(2)(6)(2)(1) Aspido became Confused! Aspido calls upon the power of nature to melt the ice in the air and turn it into rain! He much prefers that kind of precipitation without a doubt. Rain Dance 1 (5)(5)(3)(2)(6) It began to Rain! Flareon stands up and growls at Susano'o, continuing to charge at Susano'o as ordered! And it's cloaked in even more fire this time! Flare Blitz 2 (4)(3)(3)(1)(4)(3)(2)(5) 5 Str + 5 Pow + STAB - 3 - Rain = 7 D6 - 1 (6)(6)(1)(2)(5)(1)(4)(3) Susano'o takes 2 damage 6/8 HP -1 Pain (6)(4)(6) Flareon takes 3 recoil damage! 5/8 HP -1 Pain (5) Susano'o makes his power known! A watery sword sweeps across the battlefield, annihilating all in its path! Hidden Power Water 2 (5)(2)(1)(3) 4 + 3 + STAB + 2 SF + 2 LO + 1 Rain - 3/4 Sp Def = 10/9 D6 (+1 to Flareon) (5)(1)(3)(2)(3)(5)(5)(3)(4), (2) Flareon takes 5 damage and faints! Golbat takes 4 damage! 4/8 HP -2 Pain Golbat spins in place midair from the force of that blow, but spreads its wings wide and quickly retaliates by flapping them frantically! Air Cutter 2 9 - 4 - 2 - 1 = 2 (4)(2) 3 Spe + 2 Pow + STAB - 3 = 3 D6 (+1 on Aspido, -1 on Susano'o) (6)(4)(5) Aspido takes 4 damage! 11/15 HP -1 Pain Susano'o takes 2 damage! 4/8 HP -2 Pain Cassidy seems excited about how well that worked! "Ooh, that's definitely a Grass type! Keep attacking it, Golbat!" Aspido reactively eats his Sitrus Berry (14/15 HP) and withdraws into his shell instinctively. They're focusing him down! Nope, he's not having any of that! Withdraw 2 9 - 4 - 2 = 3 (5)(1)(5) +1 Defense for Aspido Kogeki uses a Potion on Susano'o. He's back up to 8/8 HP and no pain. Susano'o then jets forward before anyone can blink, determined to protect his friend no matter the cost! Aqua Jet 3 9 - 6 = 3 (3)(2)(2) ...except he jets past Golbat in his haste. Whoops. Well, at least he won't be taking Recoil damage from his Life Orb. Golbat then tries to bite Aspido with its toxic fangs! Poison Fang 3 9 - 2 - 6 = 1 (5) 2 + 3 + STAB - 4 = 2 (3)(6) Aspido takes 1 damage 13/15 HP -1 Pain (6)(5)(3)(2)(5) Aspido was Badly Poisoned! "...huh? That wasn't super effective?" Aspido tries to launch rocks at Golbat... Stone Edge 3 9 - 2 Confused - 6 Act - 1 Pain -2 Accuracy = 0 ...but he takes 1 damage in his Confusion instead. 12/15 HP -1 Pain Toxic Poison: (1) Aspido takes 1 damage from the poison. 11/15 HP -1 Pain Jacob has his second pokemon prepared already. He's staring at the battlefield with an intense look of concentration. Cassidy doesn't look very confident, though. "...wow, that crab's really bulky...do you think we can beat it, Golbat?" Multi Battle Round 2 Initiatives If you have any changes to make to your pokemon, state them now! Almost unnaturally so, in fact. You're more than welcome to stay here and warm up a little." The way the elderly lady says that particular word is...odd. She put a LOT of emphasis on its pronunciation for some reason... She continues the conversation without missing a beat as she heads over to her kitchen to check on whatever she's brewing up, though. "So, you're going on a little hike, are you? I take it that means you're heading to Mt. Coronet?" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 10-27-2019 (10-17-2019, 09:58 AM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote: Karen carefully takes the cup and sips on its contents, then pats Octavia's head. "Lots of Graveler, Medicham, Golbat, Machoke, Bronzong, the rare Clefairy and Chimecho...you know, all the usual suspects for Sinnoh's cave systems, just evolved. Haven't been up there in awhile, though. You are right that the wild pokemon up there don't see many humans! I actually once saw a wild Probopass up there that didn't even know what a human was, believe it or not! But you know, now that you're asking, that reminds me that I did see some kind of really long pokemon up there right before the blizzards started...at least, I think I did...I didn't really get a good look at it. Not really sure if I was seeing things or not. The top of the mountain kind of has this...mystical quality to it, I guess you could say. The higher up you go, the closer you get to the center of creation itself, they say. Not sure if I entirely believe that, to be honest, but I can't deny that there is a strange aura about the mountain." ---------------------------------------- To skip ahead a little to the item search... Karen laughs nervously when Kee brings up Mightyena. "...ahhahaha...hehe...y-yeah, I do...I-I'm not sure they'd like to sniff around in this w-weather, though..." "Well, good luck to you two if you're going to go searching for whatever it was I dropped. Wish I could remember what I'd lost..." Karen doesn't feel confident enough in summoning Mightyena to get her doggo to help, but the Fire type move users do wonders in making it easier to find items in the snow! Even as young as two of them are, Kee's training methods help them melt away large quantities of snow even with weak moves. There's always more snow falling to replace what was just melted, however, so it's hard work that takes a lot of time. *rolls* *rolls* Kee actually finds a really rare item: a Dusk Stone! Draven pops out of his pokeball during the search to help find it. He's very careful to not touch it right away, though. Karen doesn't find anything quite as exciting, but she does find a TM for Sunny Day hidden in the snow drifts after getting completely covered in snow herself. Then Kogeki summon his Greninja. "Let's see how you handle this! Go, my faithful partner!" Ace Trainer Jacob summons a Luxray! It immediately starts growling at its opponents. Intimidate decreases the Strength of Kogeki's pokemon by 1. Cassidy's Golbat stays out. Multi Battle Round 2 Initiatives Luxray: (6) + 11 = 17 Susasno'o: 14 Gama: (2) + 10 = 12 Golbat: 10 (side note: please condense large posts with spoilers if you're going to quote them in their entirety, Spirit. It makes it much easier to read them) RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 10-27-2019 (10-27-2019, 05:45 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: "Oh no, it's not a bother at all. Being no half-wit by any means, Ran immediately picks up the kindly crone had some sort of inkling about what was up with the kooky weather/Weather that's been plague the area lately, and decides to lightly press her about it. After he thanked the woman for her hospitality and some small talk, of course. You don't leap headlong into such things when your a quest, you know! Ain't proper etiquette or respectful to do so! "Glad to hear that, and thank ya again for letting me in. Really appreciate it, ESPECIALLY with how blisteringly chilly it is outside. I heard and knew it was frosty up here in these parts, but I didn't imagine it'd be so gottverdammt intolerably frigid! Heck, the weather outside is giving me Ice Types the shivers! If that ain't unusually cold, I don't know what could be!" *Huffs, before calming down* ".....Sorry 'bout that outburst, but as ya can already tell, I'm no fan of these chilly climes, unlike a certain pig-tailed Gym Leader. Don't know how she can tolerate it in that skimpy get-u[ of hers and be so damn cheerful, but that's young one for ya. Always quick to adapt and adjust to darn near anything, even if they do it in the most hair brained of ways. Bah...." Once he fully settles down and finishes venting, finally cuts to the chase. "Enough of my gripping, though. Got anything to say yourself about this? Sounds like you got a clue to what's up and lurking behind, which is more that what I or my partners can say for certain right now..." As for own question, he answers it easily enough. "Yes mam, and you're correct. Me and my partners are heading their to investigate old Coronot after hearing all the wacky and strange claims being bandied about it lately, and see if we can't do something about it if those people jabberings have some Nugget of truth to them. Any advice or news about the mountain you can share you'd think lend us a Helping Hand?" Lets try Aqua Jet once again on Golbat. His Confuse Ray is something to get worry about it. If Golbat faint, use Iron Defense as second action to buff your defenses, if not go with Waterfall. Then go along with Hidden Power Water!" |
