Togepi goes running back to Ventus and hugs his leg. He's hurt too much to continue, but he did have a blast using Metronome!

The tiny Combee is THRILLED with its victory! He shows off for the Princess, doing loop-de-loops. This is probably the first time he's ever really contributed to a battle in all his life.

(Me thinks Shroomish deserves some love, but I'm not one to debate with the DM. )

Raising his eyebrow at Combee's antics, Ventus just shakes his head and smiles as he walks over and pats Michael on the head. Furious from losing his first fight, he just huffed at the researcher's attempts to comfort him, and turns away. Noticing his foul mood immedianlty, Ventus just tsked a bit. "Now now Michael, as a fighter, you are well aware that winning isn't an inevitable outcome. Learning from your defeat, striving to improve with every effort you take...that is the mark of a true warrior. Be proud that you were able stand up against your worst enemies, and showed your very best. Please cheer up, my brother; we'll get them next time!" Ventus said, reading his Shroomish mood and trying a different appeal. It wouldn't do for his family member to be too sulky !

Still a little steamed from his first defeat, he understood the wisdom of his master's words. Turning back around to face him, he just gave a firm nod to Ventus, before butting his head against his palm. Chuckling, he just rubbed Michael's head a bit more, before recalling and hand them off to the hovering Nurse Joy. Raphael, still clutching the researcher's leg, looked up a bit mournfully at him. They did have fun in there battle, but they still lost in the end again....why could they ever win a fight? Looking down sadly at his little angel, he just picked him and rubbed his head spike. "Don't fret, my child. You are still young and growing, so I don't expect you to excel. By the time you grow up and reach your true potential though, you'll be just like your mother. Now, smile for me, my angel," Ventus said, before tickling their belly with a sly grin on there face.

Laughing at the sudden assault, it tried to wiggle away to no avail. Soon, Raphael was tired out from the tickle attack, and closed his eyes, content and safe in his father's arms. Gently smiling at his sleep Togepi, he quietly return them to their Pokeball, before handing it to the nurse as well. "After they are restored to help, please return them to me post haste. I hate to be without my family, no matter how brief the period of time," he said to the her, before walking off to congratulate Nathan.

"Looks like my advice paid off in dividends! Well done, Nathan! I was tad bit skeptical of you challenging Zamboni so soon, but you have dispelled my misgivings. You are certainly going to give that Icy Leader a hard time, if nothing else," Ventus said, walking up to him to shake his hand. He had a big grin on his, looking proud at the young trainer's victory against. Even though it stung a bit to lose to someone nearly a decade his lesser, he still felt he learned a great deal from his spar. He certainly felt a little more nibble on his feat for sure (DEX +1) !

That serious tone in her voice... Shiva could literally snatch in the air how important this matter was. Important for them, as well as important itself. But... They entrust her with a secret mission. They must have some sort of trust in her, maybe seeing some potential in her. Someone outside your familiy values you. You're useful.

Also, it's a unique chance. And... why should she decline... It serves the greater good. 'The Almanac'... She heard this name once before. Was it Professor Mallorn who mentioned them? Weren't they those that had something to do with Nathan's dear Ralts...? Most likely yes.

Too bad she is not allowed to ask him about it.

She hesitated a little before answering. "No, it's fine... I appreciate that you lay so much faith in me to entrust me with the matters. Therefor, thank you." ... "I'll see which species might be suitable for such a job. Just... give me a day. It's not a light decision, and success depends on the choice, so I might ask some books before that."

"Oh, I intend to. That little trick with Flame Charge? Very dangerous. Experienced Ponyta do it all the time too, and anything weak to fire is especially vulnerable to it. She'll plow through at least one of Zamboni's pokemon, that's for sure.

"Bet you weren't expecting me to use Combee, either. Same idea, just a bit riskier for the trade off of not needing to set it up. Of course, if the opponent is at a severe type disadvantage, frailty matters a little less. Great job, Combee. You did our team proud. I'm sure you'll keep improving from here."

Nathan then notices Combee is over by Princess, who'd been hovering by Ventus. "Oh? Hey, Princess. Done with moving the hive? Glad you could finally join us. By the way, Ventus gave me your pokeball, so you get hang with me, Combee, and the rest of the gang." Princess looks VERY happy that she'll get to spend quality time with the small combee still!

He turns back to Ventus. "By the way, I know you picked up on how happy I am right now. Well, here's why."

Nathan lets porygon out of his ball! "Ventus, Porygon. Porygon, Ventus." Nathan waits for Ventus's response.

A little surprise that Nathan managed to get a hold of a Porygon, he took his time examining the data construct. 'Hmm...looks like whoever made this Porygon did a fine, since I can't see all fault in solid holographic model. Though, the bigger question is how Nathan got ahold of one to begin with. Well, those answers can wait until later. Now is the time to introduce myself,' Ventus thought, before bowing to the digital Pokémon.

What came out of Ventus' mouth sounded like complete and utter gibberish, and the speed at which he spoke didn't help comprehending it any more. Once he was done speaking to the living software program, he turned to face Nathan without missing a beat. "Well, it was either them or Staryu from what I knew of your team, so it was rather obvious that you would send out your best shot at winning. Still, I don't think your Combee's show boating did any favors for Michael's mood. Good thing I was able to calm his down, before he did something rash," he said to the boy, and little bit unhappy about that. Its all in good fun to celebrate you accomplishment, but did Combee really need to rub it in Michael's face.

"As for you strategy against Zamboni, keeping in mind that he probably has a counter specifically for Fire types like Swiftfire. I would be surprised if they didn't have at least one Ice/Water type on hand. Confidence is good, but be sure to keep that mind sharp, ok?"

"Yeah, I don't intend to fully rely on Swiftfire in that gym battle. Ralts and Porygon will likely be the driving forces if a counter to a fire type comes out. Porygon could even change to ice or steel type if need be using conversion 2.

"As far as combee goes, I'll cut him a luttle slack this time. He's probably never felt like he's done anything useful before. Only this time, though.

"If I may ask, though...what the heck did you just say to Porygon, and in what language? That made no sense to me..."

Larry will need more funds if he is to win at every game, so he decides to start with the Shellder game.

He puts 200$ down.

So now the only game Larry hasn't won is the Magikarp Game. He's just short of the cash for it, so he trades his Berry Juice for the remaining few Pokedollars. Satisfied, he hands over his last dollar to play the Magikarp Game.

Too bad. Larry's Magikarp doesn't match the stranger's. On the plus side, he now has a full party! Unfortunately 2 of those are Magikarp. Let me know if you end up depositing these in the PC.

Happy that Nathan is already laying out a battle strategy in his mind, he simply says "Well, it appears you've put a great deal of thought into the battle already, so puts my mind at ease. That cleverness of yours should give you a fine advantage, and certainly give Zamboni a hard time!" As for Nathan's assessment of his Combee's exuberance, Ventus just aquisited to his point with a nod of his head.

Upon hearing Nathan's bafflement with his greeting to Porygon, the researcher looked a little abashed for a second, steppling his fingers together. "Oh uh, he he, sorry for the confusion there. The language I was speaking to Porygon was Binary. Its essentially the most basic coding language that exist, so I figured it would be only polite if I spoke with as directly. One of my Proffesors I studied under had the entire species line helping him out in his work, and they used it all the time to communicate there findings to him," Ventus said, looking apologetically at Nathan.

" I had an especially hard time understanding them using my natural empathy, so I eventually picked up the language to remedy that problem. It took awhile, but I was eventually able to fluently read and speak Binary, something that both surprised and please my professor to no end. He could never make heads or tails of their chatter or message with breaking out a digital translator, so he often used me as an intermediary between him and his research assistants. I believe he was in tears when I left college... I guess when I first say them, I just automatically spoke to them like that. Again, sorry for the confusion! Order: Wait until I get my Pokeball back, then try to hunt for someone offering a Carry Coin for purchase/trade/some task . Whether or not I get a Coin, I'm going to make Poffins with Shiva this evening. If Nathan goes to his gym battle, Ventus will somehow be there!
