RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 08-17-2021 Good night everyone. How everyone is doing these days? So...I was curious about something. I been playing D&D for quite while, and I test some kinds of combinations of races and classes (trying to avoid the usual Variant Human+something). So I was wondering: What kind of classes/races you guys like to play more? Or more importantly, what tabletop character you guys made that was great to play aside of Pokemon? Dont need to be D&D, could be other systems like Pathfinder, Tormenta, Cyberpunk, etc. Basically in many topics: Roleplay potential, mechanics, game breaking to make your DM fume in rage, backstory, etc. I know its a bit off topic, but I think it was time to put that little thread back to action, and begin a discussion. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - no one - 08-20-2021 Well, I've only played as a Fighter until now, but I also like the look of Druids and Sorcerers. As for Cyberpunk, I played as a Nomad in a one shot. It was pretty fun. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 09-03-2021 Forum had some issues the last few days, but thanks to awesome @CodySP all's up and working again. \(>v< )/ That also means we can continue rp'ing away!~ I'll probably post sometime this weekend in GameThread, telling which way to go next to not stall things more than necessary. Glad to see things chugging along as usual. There are still some issues I'm working on resolving, but you should be able to post just like you could before.

A lot. Thank you for the hard work you did in the forums. I was scared as hell when I couldn't find the forums, but I gladly everything is okay. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 09-03-2021 Thank you so, so much Cody. I realize that was a lot of work for a small minority of people, but you've gone above and beyond with keeping the forums running, and we super, super appreciate it. Now, with that being said, for my lovely players, I think it'd be a very good idea for everyone to have some text backups of any important PMs and posts that you may not want to lose access to should the forums go down again. It may also be good for us to have a backup plan for any campaigns we're running if we do lose access to the forums on a more lengthy timeline (or Arceus forbid, more permanently). That hopefully shouldn't be an immediate concern, of course, but it's an option we may want to keep in mind for the future. Discord is a possible option for that, and we can look to Shattered Earth as an example of how a PbP might be run in that medium. For now, though, I'm going to get going with progressing this campaign and get things moving again! EDIT: And on with the show! RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 09-03-2021 Well, one idea could be use other online apps to help back up the system. Discord is a option, but there also Excel Online. Me and Windos has been using that for a while and could be a alternative in case there might be people who don't want to use Discord. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 09-03-2021 Huh.....well, this shop is almost entirely worthless for the group, since we spent most of our Poke prior to coming into the dungeon and we haven't gotten anymore (We could have, but that opportunity was passed up by compromise). Unless we have some Items we can afford to barter with? I could trade away the Charcoal Pyra has, since she's more interested in Defensive Items like her Pecha Scarf than small Damage Buffs and loves to help the team out. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 09-03-2021 Just had an idea for the future, if we get the chance to do it: Parachutes! Find some cloth, spider thread or other adhesives, rope, and viola, as safe way of descending down long drops! Getting back up would be a problem, but so long as the group is carrying a Escape Orb or two then getting dead ended and requesting for Rescue/Dying of starvation won't be a concern! Of course we need both the mats and IDEA to make one, and since Pokemon are not the most innovative bunch outside a few corner cases it might take awhile to 'discover' this technique. That, and DM insight if this would even be a feasible idea or not......*Looks at Dragonstrike patiently* More and more, I am beginning to regret not having the Foresight to consider Terrain Hazards/Obsticles when it came to character building, as having a Pokemon that could dig, fly or float naturally (or via Ability/Lore [Like Golurk or some non Flying/Levitating Pokemon that float in mid air) would have solved quite a few problems by now. Still, I don't regret my final decision to make Pyra the Devimp, as I went in for more of a flavorful, RP oriented PC rather than a power-gaming one to contrast my previous PCs Terra 'Crush Rocks with my Titanium Abs' Sannaa Ismet, or Randolph 'The Angry Dwarvian Gremlin' Schmidt . Hopefully she's doing a much better job at my intended role than Ventus ever did. Perhaps one day in the future of the campaign we might be able to 'switch' characters with our recruits to navigate more problematic MDs, but for now we shall make do as we can. As players, you are free to think whatever you wish, as well as discuss it with NPCs if you so desire. Though until you have more Logic, it may be difficult to remember IC the exact names of items that only a human might be seen using, and more complex items may be difficult to remember how to assemble (this is an actual mechanic for crafting tools and such in the PMD module). I'd say a simple parachute is very easily within the realms of 2 Logic, though. I think it's quite interesting that there's very few traversal abilities among the original crew. It means that I have to think carefully about how I craft potential obstacles. As a general note, if water and lava based obstacles appear in future dungeons, water/fire types, levitating/flying pokemon, and certain select pokemon may also have little difficulty traversing such terrain (just like in the PMD games). So Daxter/Pyra absolutely could have some good natural utility in the right environments. |
