RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 10-14-2021 (10-14-2021, 01:13 PM)PhantomUnderYourDesk Wrote:(10-14-2021, 10:06 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: You know, Kee is supposed to be the Leader of this mission, yet it seems to be falling to Pyra more often than not (or just plain most of the time) to try and solve the group's interpersonal conflicts (even the ones she started or made worse herself). Not sure if that is an intentional delegation of responsibilities or not (Kee's the Navigation and Priority Leader, while Pyra is the group's Lieutenant), or simply because no one else want to be the Pokemon that has to deal with these problems. (...) Thank you, dear! Your offer of help is fully accepted - heck, I don't mind you doing the party mending before I can get to it, and neither would Pyra for that matter. She's remarkably simple when you get down to the brass tacks with her: she wants to love her friends, keep them safe and well, and make sure they're living as happily and fulfilled as possible. Also KILL/MAIM/DESTROY THE DARKNESS. Hopefully once we leave this MD and Dragonstrike restarts the pacing of the campaign we can all start rocketing forward in our sessions. I personally want everyone to at least check in the forums once a day to see if any progress has been made, and then make Meta Thread posts as needed to explain when/if they're going to post. We used to do that with Irons, and that one was able to proceed at a rocket pace until we 'beat it' and entered into the Post Game. Why not just do it again for Dragonstrikes? As for the sides issue, sometimes you have to do that in order to decisively end a dispute, or just punish both sides equally if you want to be fair and completely unbiased in your discipline. Part of being a Leader is knowing when to make the hard decisions and bashing some heads in to get them on properly, or otherwise nothing will get done at times or things will gradually get worse. Heck, in practical terms most of the team sans Kogeki have consistently been opposed to Pyra's non-combat Ideas and been repeatidly cracking down on her behavoir, and she has continued to grown and become a greater Pokemon for it. Why not give some hard knocks to others, if the results prove themselves? RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 10-15-2021 I've been saving that gif for 5 months, lol. The plus side of the game's progress taking this long, though? I found more music to use from games that weren't out yet months ago! RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 10-15-2021 Finally! Now the battle we been waiting for finally came! Let's begin our strategy against that Machamp. Let's begin our strategy against that Machamp. Pyra ain't doing any higher thinking right now. She's just enraged to the point of being on the edge of going Primal, and ready to hurt everything around her. Don't count on her following directions , alright mates? Also, Dragonstrike, just read up a little on Instinct Scores, and it says that I can added Instinct to Tough Rolls, equal to the points a character has in it. Since Pyra has 2 Instinct, would that increase her Intimidation Roll by 2, on top of any other bonuses (Like Single Action)? Not much pursuing a strategy from my side, I'll basically just aim to not get Kee fainted to quickly due to his double-weekness of Fighting-type'd attacks while also trying to deal some damage to the foes. In-game post's incoming either today or sometime tomorrow, hyped for this long-foreshadowed battle! ( ÒωÓ)و☆ (10-14-2021, 03:02 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: (...) Yes it's definitely understandable if any of us is busy or occupied with things and stuff, that's the case more often then not due to job, studies, life, errands etc. - still, it'd be kind of appreciated to have an update on this campaign, like, every second day or so, it doesn't necessarily have to be every day. Heck, I'd be totally down with that actually, if there weren't the thing that RPing everyday and all time in your free time like I more often then not in Iron's campaign did get semi-exhausting for me after a while with other hobbies being somewhat neglected. Some sort of common ground could be days where the campaign is more active and the pace is fast/decent progress is made that day, while other days things are going a little bit slower or things are even pausing for just the day for varying reasons. Either way, am kinda excited for how things will be after the current mission! RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 10-16-2021 I agree with Phantom and Windos. Check at least once per day to see if there any updates as been made its a good thing. And I will post something very soon for this battle. Today or tomorrow (I have a D&D session very soon today). Unless Machamp have No Guard to make possible for him to hit Ghost-types, me, Hoopa and Karen are in good position to hit that guy hard. Karen with her double defense against Fighting types, and Hoopa/Kogeki immunity to fighting types. Just in case I will prepare a Oran Berry with me to heal Kee just in case something happen. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 10-18-2021 Uh....bit confused why Dax is furious with Pyra and Kogeki over the Dread Plate getting nabbed, unless he's still just plain angry with them over the last spat and is projecting his frustrations out onto them. IC, Pyra didn't exactly drag her feet when trying to go after Nohface and Vilecard (quite the opposite, actually) , so it's not as if it's her fault the two managed to have enough time to get what they want and get away. Pretty sure No One's referring to the prior incidents with that, yeah. With regards to your prior question: Quote:Also, Dragonstrike, just read up a little on Instinct Scores, and it says that I can added Instinct to Tough Rolls, equal to the points a character has in it. Since Pyra has 2 Instinct, would that increase her Intimidation Roll by 2, on top of any other bonuses (Like Single Action)? Yes, those both apply here since book rules are book rules (in this instance, anyways) and we're also in the actual battle now. With regards to Pyra actually being on the verge of going Primal, you have the right idea, but keep in mind that Primal is an actual mechanic and stat here, and I have a few plans for how that might affect characters as the value increases. Ah, okay then! Thanks for the clarifications! Yeah, I know that. I was just using the term figuratively in this case! Though if I REALLY wanted to I could just make her go Primal by saying so (unless I read the rules wrong, which is a possibility), but that doesn't really serve me much mechanical benefit right now with just 2 Instinct and a few Tiny Revivers scattered around the group. Curious to see HOW it would affect Pyra, though, considering she has complete amnesia and doesn't really care about her past humanity. Losing all her Logic is not going to be taking away a lot of 'herself' unless her alien and demonic mindset and current personality somehow counts as being 'Logical' / 'human' , or you outright rule her character destruction as a consequence. Losing all her Logic is not going to be taking away a lot of 'herself' unless her alien and demonic mindset and current personality somehow counts as being 'Logical' / 'human' , or you outright rule her character destruction as a consequence. Based on the roleplay so far, I'd say this counts as an extremely distressing situation for Pyra, so I'd say you could manually trigger the Primal State while conscious if you wished. Just keep in mind it requires both increasing your Primal to 1 (the only consequence at this point in time. They get steeper as Primal gets higher, though) after the battle and doing appropriate more feral roleplay after it's been activated (until the battle is over/you're safe). Of course, doing this at the very start of the battle might not be the best strategic advantage for obvious reasons. You also can't trigger the Primal State again while it's still active, and you lose a Will Point if you faint during the Primal State, so keep that in mind too. There may also be some...other things that happen when the Primal State is triggered/wears off at my discretion, but those'll be a surprise. Logic is definitely tied to being able to remember you're human, as well as any goals/missions/details that were learned during that time (such as information on the Plates and Shadow Pokemon). If you ever hit 0 Logic, you can't remember you were once human at all, nor any memories/details associated with that time, and the book rules that as a complete loss of the character. If you can't remember your original mission, then you can't exactly complete it, after all. That doesn't necessarily mean the character isn't still salvageable, but you'd probably need a replacement character until if/when your main character's Logic is restored to greater than 0 if that's possible (if you reach 0 Logic because of a really high Primal stat, though, they're probably too far gone for that). |
