RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 02-07-2020 (02-07-2020, 04:33 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Lord Windos Ran wastes remarkably little time investigating the cry, and equally little time throwing down some rope he'd got admist all the Sundry Goods he bought in Snowpoint (or if not there, then certain he'd have quite a lot of rope from his Climbing Gear) to the dapper man in peril, shouting a rather concise message to them: "Grab hold, and we'll pull you up!" The bristly blacksmith would also ask Karen to quickly get out her Magnezone, and have it hover down underneath what he assume to be Johnathan to catch him with its body/Magnet Rise if need be, or send out any Flyer she may or may not have. I don't think Ran has a Flyer in his active party, but if he does he'll be ready to send them out to catch the man too! RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Spiritmon - 02-07-2020 Hmmm. Kogeki think and think and find a possible solution. "Nagi, time to put your Hidden Power to use. Use Hidden Power right in the sky. ResucR your power and use the light around us. This might help." RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 02-08-2020 Quote:The tile that Kee and Octavia chase their Absol to... Oof, that would have been BAD if Kee and his loyal blue faeeveelution would have found their end right here. Death by falling down a cliff, suffering fatal injuries or freezing due to being unable to get help - or all of that together - is definitely something that they would gladly avoid. Thankfully they JUST made it, only for Kee to be startled and alarmed by that shadowy black aura surrounding that already black prophet with the white fur: This increases his determination to NOT loose them by 200%. A Shadowmon or not - did they really came to warn them of that avalanche or did it just seem like they did? If that Absol's running left, Kee will naturally follow, reaching that lower cliff on the wings of his Drampa, Orpheus. If it's possible in the current surrounding they'll also continue following them via FLYing, and Octavia is asked to trail after that particular Absol a bit ahead of him by accelerating herself via Quick Attack. "Whatever ya do or what may happen, TRY TO NOT LOOSE TRACK OR SIGHT OF THAT PARTICULAR ABSOL!!! But.... DON'T ATTACK, JUST FOLLOW!" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 02-08-2020 Kee, catches a glimpse of what looks like a cave entrance to the northeast when he Flies to the lower cliff. There may be time to investigate that later. [attachment=1000] *places tile on the map* Back on the tile with the 3 mountain tarns, Kee, Octavia, and Orpheus find the Absol they're pursuing pacing, staring at them all as they enter the area. And it's snarling at them, too. No time to switch pokemon! That Absol looks like it could strike at any moment! Shadow Absol Round 1 Initiatives Absol: (2) + 13 = 15 Octavia: (4) + 7 + 2 QC = 13 Orpheus: (6) + 7 = 13 RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 02-08-2020 (02-07-2020, 06:15 PM)Spiritmon Wrote: Hmmm. Kogeki think and think and find a possible solution. "Nagi, time to put your Hidden Power to use. Use Hidden Power right in the sky. ResucR your power and use the light around us. This might help." Interesting idea. That'll make the next check slightly easier. Hidden Power Fire (3)(6)(5)(3)(6)(4)(6)(1)(1) 4 successes The sky becomes bright! But can Kogeki spot an Absol in a dark wood? Stealth: (3)(3)(3)(3)(6)(2)(3)(1)(3)(1)(2)(4)(4) - 1 = 1 success Alert: (2)(6)(5)(1)(5)(1)(6)(6) 4 successes There it is! Looks like it was trying to pounce on Kogeki and his pokemon from a completely different direction! ...oh. That's probably not a good sign after all... Shadow? Absol Round 1 Initiatives Absol: (4) + 13 = 17 Susano'o: (5) + 9 = 14 Nagi: (3) + 9 = 12 The current weather on Kogeki's tile is Sunny. RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Dragonstrike - 02-08-2020 (02-07-2020, 04:45 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Magnezone doesn't know how to use Magnet Rise yet, so it can't hover in the air as easily as you might think. Karen also doesn't have any strong fliers in her party at the moment. She does, however, have another idea. "Scizor! Can you climb down and help him up? Don't worry about falling! Magnezone's got you covered!" Scizor looks at Magnezone skeptically at first, but the magnet pokemon twirls its magnets, and then Scizor understands. Scizor attempts to slide down Randolph's rope to reach the dapper gentleman, who's having difficulty grabbing it. Randolph has to hold on tightly to the rope lest it slip out of his hands. Athletics Check 6 Dex + 3 Survival + 0 Athletics = 9 (5)(3)(6)(5)(3)(6)(2)(4)(2) 5 successes Scizor grabs the gentleman just as the branch break! "Waugh! Oh, thank you, thank you! Now then, could you possibly also pull us up? I'm quite tired of dangling here, frankly!" Randolph does his best to pull the two of them up. Magnezone assists with its Magnet Pull Ability, helping to lift the extra load created by Scizor. Strength Check (5)(6)(4) +1 Magnet Pull = 4 successes! Randolph slowly pulls the rop up with Scizor and the man on the other end. Eventually, the two of them are able to scramble up over the edge. Scizor dusts himself off while the gentleman falls to his hands and knees, exhausted. "...oh thank goodness...I thought I was a goner for sure..." He stands up, brushes a few pebbles off of his shoulder, attempts to straighten his messy blonde hair, then looks at the group, a beaming smile on his face. "Now then, you clearly aren't my traveling companions, so who do I have the pleasure of being rescued by?" RE: [Game Thread] Pokerole: Mount Coronet Mystery - Lord Windos - 02-08-2020 (02-08-2020, 12:26 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Randolph himself whips his arms up and down a bit to get the stiffness/strain out of them post rescue, then calmly and quietly letting the dapper dressed man collect himself first and take things at their own pace. When they do and ask for introductions, he steps forward and offers them a handshake, his expression serious but not unapproachable so. "Name's Randolph Schmidt, and these *Jerks thumb at the rest of his group* are my partners Karen, Rui, and Scizors - he's an Independent Pokemon, by the way. Have other ones besides them, but they're off exploring the rest of this area. I presume you're Johnathan, yes? Before you ask how I know that...." He reaches into his inventory, and pulls out the Fiery Journal and Red Top Hat, and presents it to the bedraggled but still fine looking man. "....We found these scattered back past that mess that avalanche created. Read this journal here - hope you don't mind, if its yours - and we decided to Dig a path through it to see if we couldn't find the persons mentions in it. Looks like we did, and in the nick of time to - if you are Johnathan, of course. " If the man asks were the rest of his missing belongings are, Ran will say he and the rest of his current group has them, and will offer the Sword Dance TM, Big Nugget, and Fire Plate he took back to them if he requests. Ran's no thief, nor would he ask to keep such valuable after saving their life. He's principled like that, and he sure as heck won't extort or pressure a person like a certain professor... Nagi will begin with Calm Mind, since his priority attack is useless aganst Dark Types. Then he will use Dazzling Gleam and Shadow Ball. |
