RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 09-14-2022 (09-14-2022, 08:11 PM)Mikaruge108 Wrote: Awesome! Take all the time you need. It'll give me time to get back in Karen's skull. *clumsy shopaholic intensifies* Great! That's all 4 of the major PMD games I only have passing references to Adventure Squad since those are extra silly and not particularly important entries in the grand scheme of the series. As a refresher, each continent is the central focus of one game's plot:- Air Continent is where Rescue Team is based - Grass Continent is Explorers - A small section of the Mist Continet is where Gates to Infinity is based - the Water Continent is where most of Super Mystery Dungeon occurs - the plot for this game has so far been centralised around Sahra Town on the Sand Continent since that's the only location without any confirmed major ties to an existing game's plot as of the time of writing Make sure to check out the player resources and interactive map of the PMD world I've linked on the first page of the Game Thread (aka the Main Menu). Probably also a good idea idea to review the notes I've left on the first page of the Meta Thread too for the more mechanical stuff. PM me her sheet if so. You're back? I thought you'd have moved on to greener pastures by this point, but colored me surprised and happy! What brought this on, if you don't mind me asking? Phantom's asked me to auto Kee for the time being, so I'll be working on the post for the Great Glacier's intro next! I'll hold off on doing anything with that Rainbow Gummi for now though since the three members of Team OS are probably going to want to discuss who gets it (unless Kogeki and Platina are fine with letting Kee have it? Otherwise we'll probably be waiting on Phantom's input). RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 09-15-2022 (09-15-2022, 02:31 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Well, Kee just got very lucky. Huh, well that's absolutely stellar! Team OS' luck with drops comes in clutch yet again! Hmm....well, I don't care about who gets the Rainbow Gummi? I mean, I'd be pretty sweet to give Platina a Surprise!, but she's already pretty special to begin with and I can't really think of a good reason besides GREED to improve her that way. I want her HA to be an option in the future, and I doubt the Surprise! would help with that, and the rest of the stuff on my old Wishlist are TM Moves and Items, which a Gummi can't grant unless it can summon a Deus Ex Machina upon consumption. Personally I'd rather sell it for muns or save it as a valuable Trade Item to get Pokemon/Better Held Items/Treasures on our side if we don't know what Surprise! it gives at this point, but if Kee wants to use it himself then I literally don't mind or have a say in it. It's his Rainbow Gummi, after all. It could also be given to NPC teammates that could use it, like Zoura, if we don't want any one member of the group to become too special and suffer from a round of 'Bucket full o' crabs' syndrome, but I'd like to think we've grown out of that mindset by now. For the sake or argument, however, let's discuss this anyway. Thinking in terms of who needs it the most among the PCs, Platina has her whole Beauty Mechanic and some tricks that makes her pretty potent already (Like Steel Wing and Metal Sound), Kogeki has a Buff Move and his soul sucking/Shadow powers to exploit to maximum benefit, while Kee has Headbutt and Snarl as a powerful STAB and Spread Move respectively and effectively a larger Inventory than everyone else between his big ol' bag and standard issue bag. In terms of starting loot, Kee got the most between Phantom being an absolute unit OOC making all the artwork, and Platina as I mentioned is pretty well set when it comes to....well, just about everything but actual experience and growth in-game. Overall, I say Kee is pretty much the most well rounded and powerful group member between his Ability, Start Loot, and just good movepool, and Platina comes second due to being exceptionally good at Diplomacy and using her Beauty to good effect alongside at least Steel Wing to hurt some fools nicely. That leaves Kogeki at the bottem of the pile, as while I don't think he's underpowered by any means he doesn't have that many 'killer apps' compared to the rest of the party. Heck, one of his actually is more a threat to him and the party if he actually uses it! So with the above in mind, I believe Kogeki probably needs the Surprise more than most of the party. It'd also be funny if this actually ends up helping the guy Evolve later down the line, as Rilou evolve via IQ in the old game, and so the Rainbow Gummi has the potential to have some carry over from those systems. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Lord Windos - 09-15-2022 Reading back on the most recent posts, mind giving me the details on the Dojo, Starmie, and Drilbur Shops in the Meta Thread for later? I assume the group is going to end up coming back to Paradise later, and at that point hopefully the Party is a little bit more collectively wealthy for us to afford more frivolous spending. Nah, I don't have an IQ system in place for this game. The way the Rainbow Gummi works is actually closer to how it functions in Rescue Team DX, since the Rare Qualities system is actually kinda similar in some ways to the Surprises! system that we have in place for our games on this forum. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Dragonstrike - 09-15-2022 (09-15-2022, 03:01 PM)Lord Windos Wrote: Reading back on the most recent posts, mind giving me the details on the Dojo, Starmie, and Drilbur Shops in the Meta Thread for later? All of those facilities have a Poké cost attached to them and can be used once per day. The Dojo in Paradise specializes in training moves. This can be either making progress towards learning a new move in your level up movepool or improving the accuracy or damage pools of a move you already know. For Tutor Moves, you'd want to visit Hawlucha's Slam School/Scraggy's Savvy Moves instead. Starmie's Sunken Treasure is a bit of a minigame, and the goal is to help Starmie reach the bottom of the pool in its facility. If you're successful in helping Starmie reach the bottom, you get a Treasure Box as your reward! Drilbur's Digger's Den is a facility where you might strike it rich! After paying the digger (Drilbur), they'll start looking for buried Poké. You get whatever they find. Sometimes, though, Drilbur finds more than just Poké. In fact, some say there's even a large treasure room hidden underground! RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - Spiritmon - 09-15-2022 Well...I dont want to sound greedy, but my character could use that Surprise thing. Could be great depending in what kind of surprise come. I would like to have it. But if Phantom want to give to Kee or Platina or other member of the group I also okay with that. Phantom earn the Rainbow Gummi so I not gonna to complain what she decide. RE: [Meta Thread] Pokerole Mystery Dungeon: Primal Shadows - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 09-15-2022 (09-15-2022, 02:31 PM)Dragonstrike Wrote: Well, Kee just got very lucky. \(OwO )/ Now THAT is a hecking awesome suprise to see after being back from a multi-day trip that I wish would have been longer. I have no idea what to do with that rainbowy Gummi, for the time being it's Kee's personal treasureand most-valuable posession (that does not mean that he won't let Kogeki and Platina know in-chara, of course he does tell them! ...After having their word to not shout it from the roof top, in order to prevent anyone in town or even at Delphox's Guild getting word of it and aimimg to rob us). But all of your arguments of who could technically use a nice suprise the most are recognised and noted, @Lord Windos - Kee's not the type of guy who would just nom that Gummi and have it all for himself just because, but it's definitely so that for the time being it's not going to be used but kept and a usage will be very carefully considered. |
