Ventus was suddenly distraught seeing Nathan fleeing from him, his sudden sadness mixing rather poorly with the negativity already within him. 'Oh dear...I have driven him away because of my emotional response. Why did this have to happen to me again...?' he thought mournfully, painfully flashing back to the memory of Rachael's run away note. Just as before, his over worrying and drastic actions has caused someone important to him to flee, and he couldn't be more devasted at that fact.

Still, he had to remember that not all was lost with his relationship with Nathan. With time, he could repair it, but not right now. Not when everyone's emotions where running high from today's conflict. So, with a few clenches of his fist and affixing a serene smile on his face, Ventus strolled over to the statue, absolutely intent on switching the Normal Drive out. He need something to focus his mind on, after the fallout with his friend...

Nathan's doing exactly as he said he was, and checking up on Pinsir. Not much more needs to be done, though. The wounds were treated, Pinsir was carefully placed in a secure room...Nathan was ready to grab a pokeball at a moment's notice if Pinsir woke up, but it was probably going to take awhile for that to happen. He sits down and pulls out his journal. He mulls over the details of what had just been discussed, and then starts writing in it again. He sighs halfway through, makes to erase something, thinks about it, doesn't, then goes back to writing. He closes his journal again soon after, and goes back to watching Pinsir.

He sighs again.

"Kirlia, he meant what he said, didn't he? He really intends to do that..." Kirlia just nods sadly. "I can't believe it...well, I can, but at a first glance, he doesn't seem like the extremely merciless type...that couldn't have resulted from what he's experienced, could it? Why would he even think those kinds of implications are even okay?"

Kirlia shrugs.

"I don't even know how much I can trust him right now...while on the phone...he sounded like the most crazed person I've ever met...yet here, he wasn't nearly that bad, but it was still rather evident he meant what he said...I'm worried, Kirlia. And I don't know what to do about it...there's so many things that could go wrong with a person like that around...I don't think he's a bad person, but...that just scares me more..."

Kirlia sits down next to Nathan and gives him a hug. If there's one thing Nathan needs right now, it's a stable friend. The two of them just sit there for awhile, keeping an eye on Pinsir and thinking about recent events...

Walking around town, Valder finally found Ventus. Ventus seemed quite... distraught though.
 Valder got a bit nervous. He didn't know if he should maybe just turn around as if he wasn't there or if he was simply getting the wrong impression. 'Yeah, I'm probably just getting the wrong impression...'

 "Ventus? So... I know I don't include myself a whole lot with the rest of you, but I want to know who Sage is. You up for a small 'exchange of words' or whatever you call it. Maybe there's something you would like to know. You seem pretty interested in the scimitars at least..."

 Valder hoped Ventus would answer yes. Not so much because of Sage, more because he wanted to get the group more involved with the scimitars. Valder is also looking for a good place to buy potions.

Shiva was actually thrilled to bits that her calculations turned out correct. Even if they weren't done with the concentration needed for such things, because Ventus was battling in the background back then. Coincidence? Hmm... Maybe. Or maybe the stars favored her tonight. 

Almost a whisper, directly adressed to the small fox. "Be welcome, lil' Fennekin. I've been waiting here for you,"

While the book did not tell what species will likely be encountered, it said what Type the Pokemon in question will have with a chance of 95%. In this case, it could have been a Vulpix as well... But her feelings told her it will be exactly this elusive fox instead tonight. So it's indeed true... That folkart in the woods before town argued for it. The lore of Fire-Magic being responsible for the Forests fall foliage... Almost a pity this Magic got extinct in the rest of  Chreshire...

The presence of Fennekin was warm. Calm. After all this hassle with the Pinsir and stuff this felt even more energizing to her. In the darkness and faint light of the moon the yellow fur of Fennekin seemed to shine a little, what only increased the weird elusiveness at this place. Fennekin were rare, even in their homeregion... and still one of those decided to show itself to Shiva... Great thankfulness filled her at that point.

On top of that, Fennekin wasn't even shy about that human here! Carefully, she extended her hands to the fox, offering the half Ranc Berry Poffin to it. Most likely her hands was still full of scent of the herbs in the Healer's shack... But apperantly the fox did not mind that. Or maybe exactly this made her interesting for it.

"My, there's no need to be afraid of me, as you see. I don't pose any harm to you. Instead, I came to see you..." "You come to this place for the night from time to time, do you? I can see why."

She also had the twig she picked from a tree as additional gift. These foxes are known to have a special liking for such items, are they? Especially Fennekin enjoy to literally consume them. There's also an empty Pokeball next to her. To have it on hand right away...

You can pick up potions in any town. Prices are listed in the character sheet Inventory tab.

It looks hesitant, and is ready to attack should that prove necessary.

Fennekin leaps back with the muffin in its jaws. It expected more of a challenge in getting that food.

Shiva scoots back a bit to give the fox some space. It follows! A great sign!!

Ventus switches the Drives with relative ease after Nathan leaves.

The statue moves!

Not in a cute touristy way. I mean it shifts entirely aside, almost noiselessly, revealing a dark staircase down into the depths of the town.

The eyes start blinking, faster and faster, as Ventus stares.

A little hesitant, are we? Maybe that Fennekin hasn't seen any humans for quite a while... But it did not run away to hide on the first place. A good sign.

Another good sign was that it stayed relatively calm around here. Yet hesitant, yes, but if Shiva does not attack, the fox won't either. Heaven forbidd, how could she even think of attacking the fox now?

She just watched it enjoy the offered food, smiling down at the little creature. She never saw a Fennkin in real. A pity... given how they have a magical reputation. It only made the Encounter sweeter.

Upon finishing, Fennekin looked up to her. As if expecting something. Indeed, did it came a little closer as she was giving a bit space to it!?

"You want more, do you? ... There you go." With one hand, she picked up a few berries from the bushes nearby, at least those she could reach without getting up and offered them with one hand. She moves the other very very slowly and carefully closer to the fox's head, who was still staring at her.

"Stay calm, dear one. I won't do anything to you. Just stroke you a little, if you allow." This shall be the ultimate test. If Fennekin lets her touch and stroke its head, she can as well show the Pokeball to it.

Words could barely describe the Happiness Shiva felt emerging from the core as she picked up the Pokeball containing the fox. So warm and soft fur... Small magical fox... Rare like nothing... Received from an elusive place... Received with nothing but spending some time together and offering food. Who said you have to battle a Pokemon before even thinking of catching it? None.

But... too bad it got sent to the Pokemon Center before she could call Fennekin out. She already had five Pokemon on hand, plus the egg that took the last free space. Way faste than she thought, she was able to fill up her party... With Pokemon that see her as their Master...

Slowly, she stood up from the place, though. The others were waiting for her in town, after all... It became rather dark meanwhile, and the chattering of nocturnal Bug Types was everywhere. Better leave now. But not before taking a last view on this elusive spot, bowing down in front of it and thanking silently for the granting of her first Fire Type.

Luckily, she didn't run into any trouble on the way back to town. The fact that she was in a rather haste surely helped, so she was somewhat out of breath as she arrived the edges of town again. Wineberry was dark and sleepy... barely a soul was visible on the streets. Now... best choice was heading to the Pokemon Center, was it? Likely that she'll find Nathan there, alongside the others. She told Ventus not to wat for her, but given the prone-to-worry person he was, she was somewhat sure that he stayed awake and awaited her secure arrival. To think about it, that was actually somewhat...cute.

She didn't make it to the Pokemon Center, though. In front of the infamous Genesect Statue, there was somewhat... At this time of day? How weird... Before she remembered that Ventus had a Burn Drive from the pond. That he has a connection to Genesect, as he described. Now guess who that was at the statue.

She approached him, and saw to her delight that Valder was there as well! Upon greeting him, she turned to Ven. Who was...somewhat in a stupor, as it seemed... He just stared at the statue, who was...blinking back? Eh... And revealing a staircase leading somewhere below ground... She didn't even dared to say a single word. She already knew what was about to come now.

Mechanics:
I wanted to go to the Pokemon Center, meet up with Nathan. But I ran into Ventus and Valder along the way... So I'll likely follow them down the stairs if they decide to investigate right away. I assume my time line matches this? I surely spend a while at the Power Spot with Fennekin, but meanwhile the others were occupied with important talking.
