RE: [Meta thread] Iron's PokeRole Adventure: The Skull Ruins - PhantomUnderYourDesk - 09-28-2018
I said above in a previous post that Nathan joining us, which I didn't know when I gave my choice of Pokemon here in Meta Thread, does change which Pokemon I'm sending out, I mostly said that yesterday to prevent stalling. I see no problem at all in erasing the Init of Vaporeon and Nightshade and roll out a few new dice instead. Fine with you, Iron?

Which post did you say that in exactly? I'm having trouble finding it.

It's true that Nathan hadn't picked an encounter when she sent out those Pokemon, and I like to encourage things that speed up the process.
I have no problem with you swapping now - canonically this would be Shiva seeing Nathan running toward the same battle she planned to join and acting accordingly.
There is a little potential for minor abuse: let's say you rolled really crappy Initiatives and pulled a stunt like this to get them rerolled. Do I think you did that? Heck no. Your Pokemon's initiatives were pretty good already! And I trust Phantom not to be a minmaxer. But I reserve the right to reroll or not reroll as I see fit. Does that make sense?
TL;DR: It's fine to send out new Pokemon, but I may or may not reroll those initiatives.

That does make sense to me, and I'm happy ou trust me on that! It's fine if the Inits don't get rerolled, I honestly didn't pay much attention to how good they are for my two Pokemon summoned - only spotted that Ryhorn is last, which is good for us and bad for it.

Question for you, @Spiritmon: are you fine with Heart and Nathan chucking pokeballs at Rhyhorn to kill its momentum/end the encounter instantly? Just in case Nathan actually catches Rhyhorn instead of Heart, I want to make sure you're okay with this plan.
Also, given we are only facing one target and it's a race against time, I agree with Windos that more defensive orders are less than optimal. We need to KO/catch the Rhyhorn ASAP.

I guess...maybe that could delay the advance of Rhyhorn. I really want to avoid use to much pokeballs because I would need to capture any interesting pokemon. I have 9 Pokeballs, 7 Great Balls and 3 Ultra Ball. But since I have some money with me and a Amulet Coin, maybe I could recover later. Guess we going to make some catching things. I was thinking in fight the Rhyrhorn to get some XP for me, Gargryph and Viktor but I guess that could wait.

If you two are up for that, maybe use Steel Balls given by Dagny if still onhand instead of normal redwhite ones, as I bet that huge Ryhorn has a just as strong will = high change to break a standard Ball. These Steel Balls are probably even less 'safe' to use in 1925, but quite honestly I'd rather ignore that instead of loosing 200$ willingly. Call me penny-wise!

Thats...actually a good idea. What you think @Dragonstrike? Lets use the Steel Balls to reduce the charge of that Rhydon.
