RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Redstone - 06-20-2025 (06-20-2025, 07:20 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: The Super Boss is by default Immune to Curse, since its very existence IS a Curse on Reality; that does mean effects that counter-act Curses or get stronger from them are also Enhanced to a greater extent (Hex clone WOULD be eating good here, where it not for the Anti-Ghost Tech tho) . So Abyssal Undertow would be perfect here right? It's dark type hex that also ignores half ins when that effect applies? RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 06-20-2025 (06-20-2025, 07:48 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: On the other hand Iron Leaves would go from 'risky last resort' to 'MVP' Status right alongside Oz the Grand White Witch, while 'Jame's' Pokemon would certainly benefit from Grass Types and their coverage from getting super charged. The Terrain Effects tho.... I actually just remembered something extremely relevant potentially. Decidueye can learn Foresight. Might not need Soak to put Final Gambit on the table after all. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Spiritmon - 06-20-2025 The summon of Sun could be useful but also very much dangerous since the Sun could nerf Life Dew, and considered how tough the boss is, constant heal could help us. But the enemy could get benefits with the Rain so there that to consider. Again, I could either bring Persephone since she have Fire, Grass and Ice moves if I not mistaken. Her ghost type could be a problem and a target though, and her debuffs would only make the enemy stronger...Hmm... Wait, Hex become more powerful if the enemy is under Cursed. And The Super boss now have a exposed weakness. Since the creature is a animated Cursed Creature on reality, and Hex is basically a flat damaged move against creatures under ailments conditions and cause more damage against Cursed enemies, is Cursed strong enough to dent that enemy? Said Foresight would also make Lani an option again to replace cosmic RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Lord Windos - 06-20-2025 (06-20-2025, 08:08 AM)Dragonstrike Wrote:(06-20-2025, 07:48 AM)Lord Windos Wrote: On the other hand Iron Leaves would go from 'risky last resort' to 'MVP' Status right alongside Oz the Grand White Witch, while 'Jame's' Pokemon would certainly benefit from Grass Types and their coverage from getting super charged. The Terrain Effects tho.... *Does some Checking...* Huh, so it does in Gen 7. It also gets Nasty Plot, despite being almost exclusive an Physical Attacker by design back then and even today. Man, Gamefreak does some weird stuff with their Mons... Yeah, after the most recent Fight James would be wiling to let Decidueye Learn the Move at Sedd's recommendation, since after fighting a such a nasty Ghost as Masked Wolf he is ALL for anything to screw over the Super Boss. Kinda redundant on the Mon combat-wise, but hey, whatever it takes to win! That, and Foresight does have some other benefits too, just to keep it from being TOO niche... Indeed! But the enemy could get benefits with the Rain so there that to consider. Such is a potential trade-off y'all have to make, among other things. Her Debuffs also would be More Effective, effectively making using her a double-edge sword if used in that Role. Just watch out for the Super Boss exploiting her weaknesses for everything she gots... Hex is Ghost Type Move, and therefore would HEAL the Super Boss. RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Dragonstrike - 06-20-2025 Okay, with Foresight as an option, I think I have a general game plan now that won't lock us into one strategy or the other. - start the fight with setting up Foresight and Sun. Fire moves can roast it, and Veluza landing a Final Gambit right away while the Malefic is focused on Oz (and maybe Gloomtail) would speed up the fight significantly. This is highly likely to make Seddi's team a target - Foresight enables other Normal and Fighting type attacks as well, expanding our offensive options. - Once our Fire and Ice type attacking options are exhausted, Kusanagi can Soak it to strengthen our other offensive options further. - Once Soaked, Leaves and other Grass types can be used as a finisher if necessary. Using Leaves for a prolonged period of time is likely inadvisable due to the terrain being corruptable. Any thoughts? RE: [Meta Thread] Lord Windos' PokeRole Adventure 2: The Wild Lands - Redstone - 06-20-2025 Agree with forseight so Lani can sub out for Nalu with these circumstances. -Akamu doesn't have fire or ice options so It'll just be classic dragon spam, including Z-moves in the later stages. Yeah...And considerely how deadly those battles has been so far I think I should stick with Fortuna for now due to her Dark-typing offer some defense. Persephone still a solid option. Specially if we combine with one nasty move I been thinking for a while: Perish Song. A a normal Pokemon I can doubt it could even dent against the Super Boss...But if Oz herself use Perish Song with the mega buffs and fusion she have? Maybe. Could cause massive damage to everything included ourselves, but I have a plan in tell Glinda to teleport everyone away or as much away as possible from the battlefield when the countdown reach 0 (since it will take 3 turns to Perish Song have a effect). It is a plan B in case we don't finish the Super Boss quick enough. Persephone is also a very solid option due to have Skill Swap so maybe she can could try to steal the Super Boss ability and give us a big boost of power in our side? @Dragonstrike sounds like a plan to me. I would like just to bring up the Moves my Pokemon knows and hear everyone opnions about what to bring to the next fight: Fortuna, Ability Super Luck: Peck, Astonish, Nights Slash, Haze, Wing Attack, Quash, Night Shade, Taunt, Air Cutter, Tailwind, Sucker Punch, Nasty Plot, Pursuit Glinda, Ability Soul Bond (Unknow effects): Confusion, Double Team, Growl, Healing Wish, Misty Terrain, Stored Power, Teleport, Charm, Mystical Fire, Shadow Sneak, Grudge, Wish, Draining Kiss, Mystic Fire Delta (Ghost-type move with the effect of cause Curse), Dazzling Gleam, Calm Mind, Disarming Voice. Persephone, Ability Levitate: Growl, Confusion, Psywave, Mystic Fire, Power Gem, Phantom Force, Magical Leaf, Astonish, Confuse Ray, Mean Look, Hex, Psybeam, Paint Split, Payback, Shadow Ball, Perish Song, , Lucky Chant, Spite, Ominous Wind, Nastly Plot, Skill Swap. Really tempt to bring her, but her Ghost-type moves and have most debuffs could not be that very suitable for the battle ahead. Bethy, Ability Illusion: Copycat+(Wide Guard), Extrasensory Delta, Memento+, Detect, Leer, Scratch, Torment, Hone Claws, Shadow Sneak, Curse, Taunt, Hex, Nighshade, Icy Wind, Snowscape. Have a good potential and due to its Ghost/Normal typing could be useful to be immune to the Super Boss ghost type moves, but extremely dangerous due to be inexperience yet. Icy Wind could be useful though. Meza, Fur Coat: Sheer Cold, Icicle Spear, Curse, Dragon Breath, Camouflage, Body Slam, Dragon Tail, Powder Snow, Tackle. Not that much strong yet since she barely had a fight until now, Dragon Breath, Dragon Tail and its Ice-type moves could help us a lot. Dite, Ability Pixilate: Hyper Voice, Uproar, Heal Bell, Trick, Covet, Tail Whip, Charm, Quick Attack, Assist, Disarming Voice. No. Just no. Not going to use her against the Super Boss due to negative Loyalty and Happiness. But I can actually use her moves due to be a Scimitar. Otherwise, have no intention in use the poor fox pokemon against the super boss. Thoughts @Redstone and people? Persephone still a solid option. Specially if we combine with one nasty move I been thinking for a while: Yikes, Super Mega Boosted Perish Song would be....certainly nasty. It also counts as a 'Spiritual' effect, which means DDD Weather would work with it to at least Not Benefit the Super Boss, who would normally eat up any Ghost Attacks for Dinner. Heck, Oz wouldn't even get penalized for it trying to use it as a Scimitar Spell due to her, ah, somewhat close nature to death itself. However, it's precisely because of the Super Synergy it has with Oz that using it would be....not a great idea unless as a literal last resort. Because I'll tell you right now that with as much backing it up it wouldn't trigger 3 - Rounds from now: her Song would start having effect before she uses it and once she actually does.... OH NO for anyone that hears the Dirge of Death. To be upfront, you're better off going with the Megidoloan + Misty Explosion Combo as a true last ditch option, or even as a Alpha Strike if you want to Super Boss completely on the back foot at the cost of Round Removing your PC until they get a Revive or better in them. The Explosion side of things is likely to cause some backlash on everyone unless you literally throw yourself into the Boss' Mouth or some clever Cover/protection effects are used before hand, but THAT is infinately more tolerable than what comes of a near-Ultimate Perish Song.... |
